Chapter 10: You're Like an Undercover Rich Kid

Chapter X: You're Like an Undercover Rich Kid

I got in my car and started to drive to school, while sighing at the morning sun shining with all it's glory at all of the car windshields.

As soon as I got to school, I turned my engine off, and got out and grabbed my backpack with me.

After I locked the door, I started to walk to the school building.

"Hey!" Connor said while coming up to meet me at my locker.

"Urm hey." I awkwardly said while opening my locker and putting my lunch box in it.

"So did you hear that we have some project to do in psychology?" He casually asked while leaning against a locker next to mine.

"No I haven't. But the teacher did say that we have at least eight projects to do throughout the school year." I said with a chuckle.

"What? Since when did the teacher say that?" He asked with a frown.

"Like the third day of school. It's in the syllabus too you know." I laughed while closing my locker.

"Anyway, can you be my partner? I would ask Lance, but he isn't too serious about school let alone a project for some regular class." He chuckled while scratching the back of his hairy head.

"Maybe if we get assigned together." I laughed yet again.

"Okay guys, now your partners for the project will be the ones that are seated next to you." Drew lightly pinched my arm.

"Now the topic is what we've been talking about for these past two weeks, about emotions." She said while handing each pair a rubric.

"Hmm, what shall we do our project on my lady?" Drew asked while looking at the rubric and smirking at me.

"Maybe we can do the emotion of being a jerk." I said with a smirk.

"Hey now, there will be no name calling Ms. Lukens." Drew tsked while reading over the rubric.

"Whatever. Let's do loyalty. Or companionship. Because it's about us becoming friends." I said while smiling at him.

"Oh? So we're labeled as friends?" He asked clearly amused.

"Why yes we are. So you want to do that my good friend?" I asked whilst getting my phone out.

"Why yes, I do." He chuckled copying my why yes.

"Okay then, you wanna get started tonight?" I asked while shaking my head and smiling.

"Yeah sure, we can go to my house because I have to watch my Patter." He chuckled while grabbing his phone.

"Oh okay, I just have to let Marcus know, so he won't flip out completely when I don't show up." I sighed.

I then texted Marcus that I'll be at a friend's house after school today. And much to my surprise, he said okay don't be out too late.

The bell then rang, and we all got up and gathered our things.

"Okay so I'll text you my address. And you can drive to my house, because we wouldn't want your car to be left here now would we?" He asked with a chuckle.

"Nope, I would never want that to happen." I grinned while walking out of the classroom.

We then waved bye to each other and went our separate ways.

"Ugh Lance keeps giving me mixed signals." Keely frowned while looking at her phone.

I just sat there and ate my pepperoni calzone.

It's just Keely and I because Naomi is doing something with this guy she just met. To me, it feels like she just wants to bang him because he's a football player. Which I find pretty amusing because I don't even know who this mystery guy is myself. I have to force it out of her later when I come home from Drew's house.

"Oh I'm going to Drew's place today." I said while sipping on my Strawberry sparkling water in a can.

"Wow really? Why?" She asked with a smirk.

"Urm because we have to work on a project together." I murmered while looking down.

"What!? Carly! That's good!" She chirped excitedly.

"Really?" I asked while taking another bite from my calzone.

"Yep! Did he invite you?" She asked clearly interested.

"Uh yeah." I said.

"That means he likes you!" She squealed almost too loudly for my liking.

"No it means that he has to dog sit his dog named Patter." I said while raising an eyebrow at her eagerness.

"Still he asked you. And you're still going." She said while taking a bite from her cesar salad.

"What? Keely that doesn't matter. We're just hanging out as friends. And we're just working on our project. That's all." I sighed while continuing to eat my yummy calzone.

"Come on, I overheard Lance and Connor talking about Drew crushing on a girl in their class. And I'm pretty sure that you have all three of them in a class I assume?" She said with a smirk and raising her eyebrows.

"They have two classes together that has the three of them together in. And I'm in one of them." I said while wiping my mouth.

"Nope, I'm sure they're talking about you! Don't deny it. Okay today, just look for any signs that he's clearly interested in you." She said nonchalantly.

"Urgh okay, but if you're wrong, you're buying me Bojangles." I chuckled while giving her a smirk.

"Alright deal." She said while returning my smirk.

I pull into some neighborhood. And looked down at my phone real quickly then back up at the street.

This looks like a rich kid neighborhood. I used to go down here and trick or treat with my brother when I was younger and he was forced to take me no matter what my parents say, and no matter if he likes it or not.

I then pulled up into a dark grey stoned two story house that's almost like a mansion, and has a front porch. Along with a long driveway, which I'm driving on at the moment. It almost doesn't seem real, until I saw Drew's car parked in front of me.

Once I got out and grabbed my backpack, I locked my car and walked up to the front porch.

"Oh hey Carly." Drew said once he opened the door.

"Hi." I said shyly.

"Come on in, I was just about to let Patter out and then we can get started on our project." He said while letting me inside his big house.

Damn, this is bigger than my living room.

"Thank you." I said while sitting down on a red couch in the living room.

"There are some sushi rolls and soy sauce on the coffee table right there, help yourself, and a glass of pink lemonade is on the end table that is right next to you." He said while smiling at me then walking away down the hallway that leads to who knows where.

"Man, my parents can never afford a place like this." I said while looking around and grabbing a roll and dipping it in the soy sauce.

I then heard Drew walk back in, and he took a seat next to me and ate a sushi roll.

"You're like an undercover rich kid." I said while taking out the rubric.

"Eh, not really, my parents just like to save their money that's all. And my grandparents on my dad's side owns a bunch of places." He said while chuckling and scratching the back of his neck.

"Oh that's cool." I said.

"Yeah, okay so I think we should do Love as the emotion? Do you agree with that?" He asked while looking deeply into my eyes.

"Urm uh yeah sure." I said trying to play it cool.

"Okay then, our topic will be love." He chuckled and wrote it down on the loose leaf paper.
