Chapter 7 Chapter Seven

The wedding reception happened in a blur with so many pictures and happy tears.

Sara got to know that her parents are going to live in the khan Villa just like the olden days, much to her delight. Her parents though didn't agree at first, but they accepted for the sake of Humaira.

So, she's not exactly leaving them. They're all going to live in the same house as a joint family. That very thought made her happy at the same time terrified. Happy because she's not leaving her parents like every other girl. And terrified because Sara didn't want the history to repeat. Because the last time they lived together as a joint family, it ended up with miss understandings and sadness. She just hoped that it won't repeat twice. But then sighed thinking Allah knows best, if this is what Allah wants then so be it. She didn't have to worry much.

Asher couldn't wait to get away already. He's tired beyond words could explain. He's been standing in this stage for the past three hours standing still and smiling at the photographer every time a new family joins them on stage. His cousins have formed a huge line of who'll go first and who'll go next competition. And the elders were no less. It looked like everyone were desperate to take pictures with him and his new bride. Taking a glance at Sara, he can say that she's tired too. And finally, after what felt like eternity the function was over. He left out a dramatic sigh. He decided to finally sit on the chair which was kept for show sake because all they did was standing and posing, none sat on it except for the little brats who were so desperate for Instagram perfect selfie.

"One second sir, we still haven't taken couple photos yet." the photographer announced making Asher groan inwardly.

"Please make it quick." Asher said to which the photographer guy chuckled and Sara seem to find it funny, because she too like the photographer giggles.

"Stand close and put your hands on your wife’s shoulders." the guy instructed him, listening to which Sara turned red in shyness. While Asher smirks mischievously.

He does what he was told and the photographer began clicking his pictures, Asher could hear his cousins and friends screaming 'ooh' and 'awe' loudly from the hall, he just rolled his eyes at them. Immature idiots. He murmured to himself making Sara grin.

There was a pose in which Sara was supposed to place her hands on his chest and he should hold her by the waist.

"I hope you're okay with me getting close to you like this." he said a little hesitantly, to which she smiled, how thoughtful of him to think about her comfort first. He's one sweet guy. A very good husband material indeed.

"You're my husband. You've every right to get close to me, plus I don't really mind." Sara said mischievously making his jaw drop, he didn't expect her to be this bold or blunt. Smiling at her, he slid his hands on her waist and she held his chest, that was one hell of a pose. Every youngster in the hall were teasing the couple mercilessly. But the two of them were so lost in their own world to pay any attention to them as the photographer clicked their picture.

"Sir you can go now," the photographer said but Asher was too lost to hear that.

"Asher bro!" Hussain, one of their mischievous cousins got onto the stage, and screamed loudly from behind Asher making Sara jump in shock. But Asher was too quick to catch her. They shared an eye lock making everyone smile at them.

And the youngsters were once again screaming their 'ooh' and 'awe', making Asher glare at them. When his eyes lands on Sara, he asks her, "are you okay?"

"I'm fine." she mumbled shyly, she just had to embarrass herself in front of him, great job Sara, great job, she mocks at her sub conscious.

"She looks very much fine, why don't you leave her, bro?" Hussain said with a mischievous smirk.

"I wasn't holding her." Asher said defensively but then realized that he's actually holding her, he left Sara who was blushing like a tomato and then looked at Hussain.

"Sure, you weren't." Hussain teased making Sara blush harder.

"Come here." Asher muttered, Hussain looks at him nervously and ran away from there while Asher chased him behind making everyone laugh at the duo.

Faheem who came to say goodbye to his friend, found him indulged in a conversation with some elders.

"Hey Asher, can I have a word with you?" he asked to which Asher nods and excused himself.

"Congrats man!" Faheem congratulated enviously and hugged him.

"Thanks brother." Asher replied back happily as they broke the hug.

"I still can't believe that I lost her, I'm so jealous of you." Faheem told bluntly making Asher fume in irritation.

"If only that Mahira didn't mess this up, I'd be in your place today, holding her hands and claiming her as mine to the world." Faheem exclaimed sadly.

"Alas, guess what she's my wife now. So, you better erase all those dirty thoughts about her. Sara's mine. You better remember this." Asher informed in his cold and firm voice.

"Woah! Calm down man! No need to be all possessive and all. I was just claiming facts." Faheem said throwing his hands up in the air.

"Forget Sara, she's your sister-in-law now." Asher said to him for the one last time and leaves from there.

While Faheem stood there furiously, for the first time in his life he felt like he has lost something. He can't let that happen easily. He won't give up. He'd take his revenge. It was a promise.

After the hectic day, it's finally time to sleep. They were all back to the khan Villa. Guests have gone and it was only very close relatives which happens to be some twenty people who're staying in the khan Villa tonight. By the time they all came back, everyone crashed on their beds immediately.

Sara was now sent into Asher's room after having 'the talk' with her mother. Honestly it was very embarrassing but her mother said that it was important. So she had to listen.

Her cousins were teasing her nonstop, they didn't get tired at all but she sure did. She took a deep breath when they left her alone in his room. She has been here before, that was six years ago.

Sara took a moment to glance at his room, it was reflecting the six years back Asher. It looked the same, nothing really changed. He used to be grumpy and kind at the same time, and hence his whole room is black and white themed, or so she assumed. But she has no idea about what the present Asher is like, guess she has plenty of time to know about him.

Sara heard somewhere that, generally the bride's dresses weighed a lot, and how very true it was. Her maroon colored Anarkali might weigh more than her, groaning inwardly she walked to the mirror and started removing her shawl first. And one by one she started removing her hair pins.

"Ugh!" she groaned in frustration as she pulled another pin.

"Woah! Need any help there?" she heard the deep voice of Asher.

"Yes, please." Sara whined making him chuckle.

Asher came towards her and helped her remove the pins slowly, in the meantime Sara looked at him through the mirror and damn, he looked so handsome.

"It's done." Asher whispered making Sara sigh in relief.

"Thank you so much!" Sara exclaimed happily to which he smiled looking at her through the mirror.

Only then she realizes how close they were. He was so close. So very close. Her back was almost touching his chest. His hot breath was fanning over her shoulders. She was never this close to any guy. But this guy being her husband made this situation a whole lot of romantic.

Sara blushed as she eyed him through the mirror. Their eyes locked for a moment. Neither of them spokes a word.

"I think you should get changed, I'll change in the bathroom and you can change here. I'll come back once you're done." he said to which she beams at him.

"That's so thoughtful of you." she said moving a little far from him shyly.

"By the way, I liked your gift so much. I like anklets... They're my favorite." Sara smiled widely as she lifted up her skirt slightly to show him her legs.

"Masha Allah! They look more pretty on you..." he said cheekily making her blush harder.

"Thank you, I-I should change." she shuttered shyly making him grin, he nods his head and walked to the bathroom along with his night dress.

Sara was never the shy type to begin with, but with Asher. The guy who she liked, like crazy... it's an entirely different story.

This is going to be a long night, Sara thought with a smile on her face.
