The next two weeks went in a blur. The only happy thing about Sara's life currently was, her job resignation. The office staffs were unhappy with her choice but she was adamant about quitting. So, they didn't have any chance of convincing Sara to stay back.
When she returned home, her parents were already packed. And looked like her bags were ready too. She sighed. There was no running away from here. She is going to go back to the place where her parents were once humiliated and to add a cherry on top, she is going to attend the wedding of her crush.
"Assalamualaikum, mom and dad." Sara greeted them both with a tired smile.
They both greeted her back enthusiastically.
"Sara dear, go and great ready. We're leaving by five in the evening." her father Fahad Hussein informed, to which she groaned inwardly.
"Dad, why should we go early? The wedding is after two weeks, can't we go like a day before or something?" Sara asked her father skeptically.
"Sara, I know that you don't want to go there. But your grandma has insisted that we come over there a month ahead, but we couldn't because of your job. Now we can't disrespect her, can we? She's like a mother to me. She took me in when I was an orphan." her father tried to explain her politely.
"I understand dad, but they're the same people who once disrespected us. How can we go and stay with them? For two weeks?" Sara asked dramatically.
Her mother Aaliyah has had enough of Sara's tantrums, she shot her daughter an angry glare and began to scold her, "Sara enough of your tantrums. We're leaving today. Get ready. Fast."
After listening to her mother's stern voice, Sara had no choice but to agree. She goes to her room uninterested-ly and untied her hijab.
Looks like she's really going to Asher's wedding. Oh joy!

The khan Villa was so busy with full of guests and relatives. The house had the wedding charm with hustle and bustle everywhere.
The Husseins' stood at their door step skeptically.
"Dad, we still have time. Come on let's go back." Sara tried to persuade her father but her mother shot her a glare so she kept quiet immediately.
"Ya Allah! Look who has decided to visit us finally." came the enthusiastic voice of Humaira Ahmed Khan, even at the age of 65 years, she's still so energetic and active.
"Assalamualaikum." the Hussein family greeted her in chorus.
"Walaikum Assalam, get inside all of you." Humaira welcomed them in happily.
The Hussein family stepped inside the khan Villa with a lot of hesitation. For Sara it was a very nostalgic moment. She has spent her whole childhood here.
The happy memories flashes in front of her eyes, along with that the sad ones comes as well. Sara closed her eyes tightly trying to compose herself, but the hateful words, the humiliation, still felt bitter. The same was the case of the elder Husseins'. All the bitter memories were flashing in front of their eyes.
“Fahad, come here." by saying this Hassan Ahmed Khan pulled him into a brotherly hug.
And in no time, Fahad felt like he was back to his home. His wife Aaliyah had a smile on her face while Sara stood there watching everyone who stopped whatever they were doing and were gawking at the Hussein family like they are some kind of zoo.
Mariam Ahmed Khan stood there angrily fuming from inside, she did not want the Hussein family to step into this house ever again. But she felt so helpless when they are here once again. Her son's wedding was the only reason she's tolerating the family, if not she'd never let them step into her precious home.

The Husseins' were given their previous rooms only, except for Sara whose room was now Mahira's room.
Mahira Ahmed Khan is the daughter of Asher's father's younger brother, in short, his cousin, with whom he's going to get married in two weeks.
Mahira was once like a sister to Sara, but now she has lost in touch with everyone after that fateful day.
Looks like Mahira has not only taken Sara's room but so many other things as well.
Mahira actually knew about Sara's feelings towards Asher, she was the only person to know that and yet she's getting married to Asher is what making Sara furious. Yet, who is she to judge anyone. Mahira might have been forced to marry Asher or whatsoever. She needs to stop thinking rubbish. Sara sighed.
Asher is now getting married to someone else and it's inappropriate for her to think about him like that. So, shrugging away her thoughts, Sara goes to the old room of Mahira and arranged her clothes in the wardrobe.
"Can I come in?" Sara hears the familiar voice of Mahira.
"Of course, it's your home after all. Why are you asking my permission?" Sara shrugged but Mahira smiled and engulfs Sara into a bone crushing hug immediately after she stepped inside the room taking Sara by surprise.
"I missed you, why didn't you call me?" Mahira asked.
"Mahira, I didn't leave this home with a happy memory that I'd keep in touch with everyone." Sara told bitterly while breaking the hug.
Mahira was about to say something, but the knocking at the door made them break the moment.
"Mahira, your Mom is calling you." informed the intimidating voice of Asher.
Sara looks up at him with her wide eyes, Mahira saw the look and understood that Sara's still not over her crush on him. And now she's no more interested to talk with Sara, not like Sara's interested or something.
"I'll leave then." Mahira said to Sara and left the room.
It was now only Sara and Asher, he was standing outside her room though.
"Stay away from my fiancé." he snaps at her in his cold voice taking Sara by surprise. Rude!
She walks till the door and gives him a furious look, and shuts the door on his face angrily, this was least expected by him.
Asher stood there rooted to his place recalling what just happened, did this girl really shut the door on his face? The heck. How dare she!
Day one,
Sara- 1, Asher- 0, Sara thought to herself as she giggles. But what she didn't understand was why would he possibly be rude to her.
Whatever it was, crush or not. If he behaves rude with her then she'd be rude with him too. That's Sara for you.
