Chapter One

A long stretched of a sigh came out from my mouth as I finish tying my shoelace. The sun is up and it’s hurting my eyes and my skin, and I feel like if I continue to run for another lap, I’ll pass out. But that’s not the case, I have to do this. I stood up straight and ready myself to run again but before I could do it, a hand stop me and pulled me back to sit on the bench.

“Chill, Missy” he snorted

“Let go of me, Sky!” I hissed at him before I tried to stand up again but he just casually pulled me back. “I have to run for another lap so he won’t…” but he cut me off by rolling his eyes upwards.

“He won’t scold you, swear” my eyebrows rose at him. How can he stay this calm while I can’t even think straight anymore because my mind is going crazy already? I am scared that our professor in P.E. would really call our parents after he caught us making out at the back of the comfort room close to the gymnasium?!

This is his entire fault! If only he didn’t pull me back there and kiss me then I wouldn’t have kissed him back! And why am I blaming him instead of just doing what our coach wants us to do? He wants us to run 10 laps in the middle of the sun and it’s 3 in the freaking afternoon. I’m already tired and I just finished 3 laps, I am already very tired while this asshole here is just sitting like a prince on his throne.

“He won’t scold me but he will report what he saw to my parents!” I almost shouted to his face, he just gave me a surprised look before raising both hands, sign for surrendering.

“Okay fine, I won’t stop you anymore. But can you still run?” he doesn’t look concerned, really. He is more like mocking me with the tone he used. I was about to scold him when I saw Coach Santiago, the coach or professor who caught us. But he looks like he’s not coming here to scold us. He looks uneasy and for some reason… he looks scared? As if someone just scolded him…? I actually want to ask him what’s wrong but I remember that he might just get mad at me. Because first of all, I should be running right now but I am just standing here with Sky.

“Mr. Dela Vega I’m sorry…” I looked at him, questions are written all over my face. Like why my coach is apologizing to Sky Dela Vega, I mean…

“You’re lucky I’m still being nice here, coach” Sky emphasized the word Coach to Mr. Santiago before he stood up, pulling me towards him. “You can go now…” he even sounds like a superior as he pulled me away from this hot ground area of this University where we are currently studying. When we got out there and stopped in front of a black car, I decided to finally ask him questions.

“What happened to Sir? Why is his reaction like that? As if you’re the one he should be scared or respect. Aren’t we the one at fault?” I know that curiosity in the tone of my voice is very obvious. Because I am really curious about what the hell just happened.

“Let’s just say that I’m handsome,” Oh god, why am I even having a conversation with this jerk? I just let out a deep sigh before throwing dagger looks at him. But he just shrugged his shoulders before he pressed his car key. I don’t have anything to do so I just went inside his car when he opened the door for me.

“Where are you planning to take me?” I asked when he finally got inside his car. He’s busy starting the engine but he still managed to throw a glance to me. When he noticed that I haven’t put on my seatbelt yet, he immediately went closer and buckled it for me.

One thing that I like him doing for me is putting on my seatbelt. It’s not that I am unable to; I just find it cute and sweet whenever he does it for me.

He didn’t answer me so I continued to ask him questions.

“And what comes into your mind that you suddenly pulled me there to make out, huh?” the tone of my voice raises a bit. I’m making sure that he can feel my annoyance to whatever he did earlier. But… I must admit that I enjoyed it.

"Zack's house," instead of answering my latest question, he decided to answer the first one, ignoring the last one. I decided not to say anything about that anymore. I will just stop questioning him and divert the topic to something else for him not to turn into his beast mode.

He’s just focused on his driving while I haven’t stopped talking yet. I kept on talking and talking, he still manages to answer but only with short answers. But that’s actually okay already because he’s usually just quiet as if he doesn’t talk to anyone or doesn’t want to waste his saliva to mutter a single word. I’m used to it, I’m still lucky that he still talks to me.

“Daddy!” I pouted my lips and sounded like a kid that’s about to throw a tantrum. Just like what I expected, I finally got his attention. He turns his look at me before going back to the road. I smirked at him.

His perfect eyebrows are about to meet already.

“You have the guts to ask me why I kissed you but look at you; you’re always seducing me when you have the chance.” He hisses on me

“Duh, I’m not seducing you. Can’t you see I’m annoyed,” I reasoned out even though I really called him daddy to tease and get his attention?

“Yeah…” he mumbled before nodding his head with a sarcastic smile on his lips. “Sure, you don’t,” he added. He looks away from before he stopped the car into the basement of this condominium. I guess he finally found a parking space where he can park his car.

I didn’t wait for him to remove my seatbelt because I can already feel that he’s getting annoyed with me already. When he saw me opening the door for me, he decided to get out of the car too. I silently followed him on his way to the elevator. I was about to call his attention because he’s getting way faster already but then he pulled my hand and intertwined our fingers. A smile form into my lips, feeling proud that he still holds my hands even when he’s getting annoyed with me.

“Stop smiling,” he said to me, and instead of stopping me to smile. I smiled even wider. He just shook his head until we got out of the elevator and headed our way in front of the door of Zack’s unit. I immediately typed the passcode of his unit. We all know his passcode because we treat each other like a family.

“Devoted to God is finally here!” Dmetrio announced when we finally got inside the unit. The party is already starting, it’s a party for Sandex come back. He was gone for three years and since we miss him, they decided to have a small party.

I looked around the place to find the reason why we are having a small gathering.

“Shut up, Dmetrio. I’ll tell Tanya that I saw you with a girl last night!” I hissed at Dmetrio first before removing Sky’s hand on mine and run my way towards the bar counter where Sandex is standing and holding a drink.

Of course, It’s only a joke that I saw Dmetrio with someone last night. It’s just for him to shut up about calling me Devoted to God.

“Sandex!” I yelled excitedly and gave him a big hug. They all laughed because of what I did to Sandex. I felt him hugging me back but our hug didn’t even last a second because Sky pulled me away from him already.

I looked at him while pouting my lips before turning my gaze back to Sandex. I jokingly hit him on his chest but his expression turns sour and then he hugs me again to stop me from hitting him again. Sandex is the one I am close the most with Sky’s friends. He’s a good friend and is very funny.

“That’s enough, Isabelle…” Janine stopped me from jokingly hitting Sandex. She came out from the common bathroom of Zack. “He has some wounds on his body, it’s not safe for him to get hit.” She sounded worried as she said that. My forehead creases a bit before staring at Sandex’ face, that’s only the time where I noticed that he got some bruises on his cheeks and the side of his lips.

“What happened to you?” I asked but even before he could answer, Sky pulled me back again to sit beside him. Zabrina handed me a cup of drink and I said my thanks to her.

“You don’t need to know—"

“Because no one can know,” Zabrina was the one who finished whatever Sandex was about to say. They had a staring battle and she’s the first one to look away. I just let out a quiet “Oh”, not planning to say anything anymore because I can feel the tension between the two of them.

I just turned my whole attention to Sky who’s busy playing with the strands of my hair. I lightly pat his hand to stop him from what he was doing. He just looks at me with those menacing eyes, the kind of look that makes me shiver because it looks like he’s taking my soul away from me. I pouted my lips on him, he just rolled his eyes before he pulled me closer to him.

“You’ll be punished later,” he mumbled on my ears, it sent a shiver to my body. I looked at him, and he’s looking at me intently. Damn this guy!

“What did I do?” I said in a small voice, making sure that no one can hear us.

“You hugged, Sander…” I was about to say something but he pressed his index finger on my lips “And how many times do I have to tell you, you’re mine.” Damn, he’s serious.
