Chapter 7

Claire has been thinking non-stop lately, to the fact that she has lost to Susan who did not even value the man going after her. she tried two more times hurting her, but then she realized that by doing so she was unintentionally pushing Mark to her . This was because every time something happens to Susan mark will always be there to help her out and thus she concluded that she also prayed a part in pushing her boyfriend to another woman.

With this realization, Claire did not find it enjoyable hurting Susan anymore since the hurt would always comeback to her seeing how Mark took care of her, she instead let the bygone be since she came to school for an entirely different reason, she would not waste her precious time with someone who no longer valued her. She let go with a lot of pain but she had to learn to live with it with the hope that things might change sooner or later.

time was much gone and the graduation for the senior students was nearing thus everyone was busy. It was a peaceful moment for Susan who loved quite environments for her studies. It was a great relief too for her since her biggest trouble in school would be coming to an end soon after Mark had graduated. The day finally came, it was a happy moment for those who had managed to make it to the end. A proud moment for them and their families, people were celebrating and more.

During the celebrations Mark sought out for Susan it wasn't hard to find her since she was also appreciating the efforts of those who had made it. On seeing Mark she had a bright smile on her face that for a moment it confused him. She congratulated him from the bottom of her heart, she was genuinely happy for those who made it since she hoped to be there too after her studies. It was good seeing her smile that way but then she decided to share in his joy since she would not be seeing him around in the future there was no need for here to make him unhappy on his happy day. With the ending of that day, Susan knew that she had at least one less problem to worry about though there were other guys after her most of them were not as bold as Mark and that was good enough for her .

With the graduation season the school was filled with the celebration mood and parties were held endlessly, with the look of things it will take some days for things to get back to normal in the school and that was no problem since the were allowed to celebrate their success almost all the students in the last year managed to graduate which was a proud moment for the lecturers too.

Things got back on track after the weekend and the students switched back to the usual serious studying mood.

After two weeks , the students sat for their end of year exam which would be taking them almost another two weeks and this quieted down the school environments since everyone was very busy. When the time came , everyone was prepared and they all began . Some were nervous while others were just acting as if nothing is happening but then, 'whether you are nervous or not does not determine the results . The results that will come after the examinations will be the ones to determine whether the candidate was studying or joking around' that was what Mr Munene one of the lecturer's in the college always told them when it came to exams.

The exam room was one quiet place with just paper rustling heard in the air. The exam periods where divided into morning and afternoon sessions .It was interesting how some of the noise makers had nothing to talk about even after exams, buried in their books were some who never knew seriousness but they had to try do their best.

During the last exam , some students were caught cheating on the exam room , and that meant that their results were nullified , that was tragic to them ,being disqualified on the last minute . On a closer look ,Susan realized that they were the same students who had set her up with that very claim of cheating with a solid evidence of exam materials on her desk, how ironic? That's why it is said that you think what you are and again good deeds come to good people and vice versa.

The principal was very disappointed in them, after all the efforts of the tutors and then it happens that some students can't rely on their mind independently. That was it, he could not be lenient with them , what this meant was that , they had wasted their year in school only to not take part in exams , cheating meant failing , and failing to do the exams meant they would go back from scratch which was terrible but then it suited them.

They knew how bad the situation was , they begged and cried but the principal never listened to them , they were meant to serve as an example to many others who would have thought of cheating , then it was also a punishment for implicating others , he let the have a taste of the bitter cup.

The exam s came to and end and the students were released and allowed to go for holidays which would last for three whole months before resuming their studies. the students were so happy to be going back home after a long stay in school , the silence from earlier on had disappeared with to and fro's ,packing the luggage's and much more. within the next two days the school was almost empty .those who travelled for longer distances were left for some time but they also left.

Most of the students had travelled back to their homes to spend time with their families. Susan had really missed her parents and also her siblings. She also missed the company of the children she used to teach back then before she joined college. Its as is she is going to resume teaching them during her stay at home since she enjoyed doing so and also since it was her source of income.

Her journey back home was not peaceful at all her mind kept wandering across many issues, she thought of her family, how they were fairing , their struggles , their love for each other,. she found herself smiling when she remembered her brother kelvin who had left school at a young age since he could not take it being looked down on or being humiliated by his peers because of his background. He had completely refused to go back to school, he decided to help his parents and do other things , he had a mind of an entrepreneur and this was good enough , his parents never forced him again , they allowed him start being in business at that age. He always makes everyone in the family happy to him there is no reason to be sad or feel unwanted simply because success did not come your way , he has always cheered them up on their low moment, a very brilliant boy he is, always promising to be successful and help them out in the near future.

This memory lightened her mood and her eagerness to get home increased she was sure to be happy during her holidays, she wanted to see how everyone was doing. She would be home soon , with that in mind she slanted on her seat in the bus and sleep slowly carried her away. She was later woken up by a pat on she shoulder and was notified that they had reached their destination. She alighted all smiles with the sight of the place she had missed for a whole year and took the way that led home.
