CHAPTER 6

The sight of this renewed Claire's hatred for Susan. She had remained cool for some time though she was deeply hurting, Mark had completely ignored her existence no matter how much she tries to lighten things and improve their relationship.

She hated the fact that she could not make him stay, he had withdrawn emotionally and physically too .This had drained her in All ways and this increased her hatred. She thought of taking Susan's life at some point but then she told herself that she was not that bad to take her life but still she had to make her suffer.

Susan was walking back to the hostels when she stepped on something and got trapped on the ground, the pain was heart wrenching ,she screamed for help but no one was around by then she laid down on the ground writhing in pain .She tried unhooking the trap that had found it's way on her bare skin. It was very tight that she was breeding at the injured spot. No matter how much she tried to help herself, she simply could not.

Seeing her in pain made Claire laugh out loud, she was enjoying her suffering. she was cruel enough to leave her lying on the ground and left.

After much struggle Susan almost gave up on herself but then she saw two ladies passing by from some distance and called out for help. The two ladies rushed to her side and tried helping her but then they couldn't make it. They were not strong enough, they decided to look for a guy to help them as quick as possible.

One of the girls ran to the other side of the road in tension and rushed to the first guy she met. She dragged him even without explanation the situation, when the guy was reluctant she told him that he was needed to save someone. He followed and on getting to the scene, Mark could not believe what he saw, Susan on the ground, in pain, breeding,, he rushed to her without a second thought and used all his strength to remove the hook off her leg.

She was rushed to the nearest medical center, The nurses tended to her injury and bandaged her leg, after enough rest she was allowed to leave but then she needed support walking, the ladies and left when Mark told them that he would take care of her ,that left him as the only option .

Susan was yet again indebted to Mark which was not a good thing to her. She thanked him again and allowed him help her out of the facility since she could not help herself and again it would be very mean of her to dismiss him after helping her so she let him Susan was mentally disturbed on what to do with him, she clearly knew his intentions but she could not bring herself to like him back. She even suspected if she had any emotions or feelings concerning romantic relationships,. She was so dismissive that she also thought she had a problem but that was the least of her worries .

The following days Susan had difficulties going to class but she tried her best since she could not afford missing classes. Mark made it his habit to visit her and see how she was doing. He was glad for she did not push him away as she always did. He enjoyed her company the most she was cold outside but a beautiful soul on the inside this was known to those close to her. He wished time would still so he could spend more time with her because he knew it would not be easy once she was fully recovered.

In silence Susan was still thinking of how to deal with Mark at the same time she wanted to know how she got trapped .She knew that she had no feelings for him and it would not be good to keep him close to her ,she knew she would not love him back so it was best to push him away so she decided to be rude to him for no reason, since he would not listen to her and understand her stand

Mark was being nice and all but Susan was very rude to him. He tried to keep up with it but he was getting frustrated, his efforts were left unappreciated and this didn't sit well with him.

Mark was beginning to lose the hope he had kept, to one day have Susan as his woman. He thought of how he had fought with other guys who openly expressed their interest in her. He wanted to be her only admirer, jealousy was eating him up,. Her refusal was the worst. The feeling of loving and not being loved back . Mark did not know what to do next but then he vowed to help her whenever she needed his help, he could not afford seeing her suffer even as she did not love him back.

He hated how she made him miserable, how he no longer concentrates on his studies since his head is always filled with Susan. He blamed himself for not working hard enough to get her attention and love. At some extent he thought of her as a mean person who didn't consider other people's feelings . Someone who did not know how to be grateful for the help tendered to her but that didn't prevent him from loving her the more.

Mark had completely lost interest in Claire, he even thought that she was so annoying since she kept nagging him. She confronted him about Susan and he acknowledged his love for her without minding if Claire got hurt by his Claire loved him sincerely that he was sorry for her but he could not help himself ,he no longer felt anything towards her. Sometimes he thought he was really stupid for loving someone who's no interested in him and leaving behind the one that loved him dearly.

He had friends who confronted him for ruining his almost perfect relationship with Claire for someone they termed unworthy despite her beauty but they ended up fighting since he could not stand anyone talking negativity about Susan.
