Chapter 5 Fell in Like

Hearing the truth about Rose didn't change my opinion on her one bit. It just made me realise why I respected and admired her so much.

I liked her. That's not the shocking part though. This must be the first time since Princess' mother that I was actually interested in someone in that way. Lost in my thoughts, I didn't realise that Thomas started speaking again.

"Another thing we realised is that although her mentality was that of a 6 year old, she was abnormally excellent in terms of education. She was the smartest in her high school, she would get praise from her teachers. Especially the principal. The principal loved her, always sending her home with chocolates and making sure she wasn't treated differently by other students, younger and older. We owe it to her that my sister is happy today."

"I don't care." What? Why did I just say that? He seemed to think the same thing as me.

"What?"

"No, I mean of course I care that she struggled so much in her life and I doubt that she can even remember all that happened to her. But that doesn't change my opinion on her."

"And what is your opinion on her?" He says, turning towards me with a slight glare, making me gulp. Obviously, I mean, it's her older brother. He's older than me. Even though I could probably take him down, he is still the older brother of the girl I like. Cut me some slack for being nervous.

"You know what I think of her. I'm always staring at her and I've only known her for two days. Don't you do that when you like a girl?" I just admitted to him that I liked his sister. This is basically suicide.

"So you like my sister?" He asks and I nod. Then he does the unexpected. He smiles. "I'm glad. Normally when someone meets my sister, they fall in love with her looks. I mean, she's my sister and even I can tell how beautiful she is. But with you, it was different. You didn't run away when you saw her weird behaviour, you tried cheering her up when she was upset at the supermarket. No one, other than my family, has done that for her before. I hope she's happy with you. That's if you plan on going out with her?"

My answer came out instantaneously. "Obviously, why else would I tell you I liked her?" I should really shut up around her brother.

Oh, Mr. Movie star is scared of his crush's brother?

Shut up.

He chuckles before he speaks again, "Right. And to answer your previous question, no. That's not how I act when I like a girl. That's how I act when I like a boy."

Shock. That's all I felt. He was gay?

"You're gay?" I thought out loud.

"Yup. You have a problem?" He says, as if he was testing for my reaction.

"Of course not! I have loads of friends that are gay! Well, two. But that's still some. I don't mind, you like who you like." I was interrupted by a sudden flash of lights and continuous clicking sounds.

Well, shoot me down, then call me Charlie. Would you look at that? Even with a baseball cap and sunglasses on, I still get recognised. Stupid paparazzi, always ruining my fun.

"But you know what I don't like?" I ask Thomas, "paparazzi. We should probably leave before more come." He nodded as we got up, leaving the remaining muffins and coffee on the table.

Picking Lily up, she starts to squirm. "Hey! Daddy, I was talking to Wosie!"

"Yes, I know Princess, but the evil people found us again. And what do we do when the evil people find us?" Her face scrunched up before suddenly brightening in realisation and a little fear.

"We run! Come on, Wosie. Before they get us!

"Evil? Like Maleficent? Where is she, Lilzy? I'll protect you." Rose says, as if she's some type of hero.

Lily jumps out of my arms and on to the floor, nearly falling to the ground in the process. She grabs Lily's hand and drags her towards my car before Rose starts to run with her.

"What goes on in there heads?" Thomas says before chasing after them.

"Damien! Who was that girl you were with?"

"What about the man?"

"Where did your daughter go with her?"

"Did you get her pregnant?"

You gotta give it to these people. They are quite creative with their assumptions.

I shout out a loud "no comment," before racing towards my car.

Once I get to my car I see that Rose and Lily are sitting in the back with their seatbelts on already. Thomas turns to look at me with a sorrowful look.

"I'm sorry, I tried to tell her to come to my car, but she won't budge."

My stubborn Angel.

An idea pops into my head. "If you don't mind, why don't I drive them to my house and you drive behind us?"

He nods, realising that the paparazzi have located my car and making there way to us. "Be careful, okay? She's my only sister." He warns, jokingly.

I watch as he gets into his car, then I get into mine. I turn the engine on as the two girls talk about the new Barbie Doll house my mom got Lily for her birthday. From the rear view mirror I can see Thomas following behind us and a group of paparazzi taking pictures of the back of our cars.

This day has been crazy. Hopefully we can get to mine and relax.

I can't believe I actually fell in like with someone in the matter of two days.

I guess my dad is right. When you fall. You fall deep.
