Chapter 3

The agreed meeting place with Calvin Charles was a bar.

The recently graduated young man was always full of enthusiasm. When he saw me, he grabbed my hand and led me to a room he had reserved in advance.

He even covered my eyes with anticipation, so I couldn't see.

Seeing his ceremonious demeanor, I stifled a laugh and took his hand willingly.

Then I let him guide me to my seat.

The blindfold was quickly removed, and I was stunned by the beautiful cake in front of me.

"Cornelia, you will always be the little princess in my heart."

Even though I was older than him, he treated me as a little girl, as if that would bring us closer together.

After blowing out the candles, I went to the restroom midway through.

Unexpectedly, I encountered a familiar figure in the hallway.

It was Nathan, along with Bella Howard.

"I told you not to waste so much money on my birthday. Your love is the best birthday gift for me."

My steps halted instantly. It turned out today was also Bella's birthday.

What a coincidence.

We shared the same birthday.

And the same man's love.

Nathan chuckled lightly at her words and then spoke indulgently,

"Money means nothing compared to your happiness. As long as you're happy, I'm willing to do anything."

I stood in the dark corner, watching them affectionately interact right before my eyes.

Sensing something amiss, Nathan looked in my direction but saw only my retreating figure.

When I was with Calvin, I always dressed in a youthful style.

I even tied up my wavy hair into a bun to match him better.

This version of me had never appeared before Nathan.

So I thought, even if he saw me, he wouldn't recognize me.

The private room door suddenly opened from the outside. Nathan stood there, staring at me nestled in Calvin Charles's arms.

I was eating the cake he had just fed me.

Our eyes met, and Nathan's face darkened instantly.

He gritted his teeth and spoke to me,

"Cornelia, what are you doing?"
