The mysterious man

Anna's point of view.

The moon was full and bright as I walked in the woods. I loved the way the leaves rustled beneath my feet and the cool breeze that kissed my cheeks. I closed my eyes and took in a deep breath of the fresh air. It was so calm and peaceful.

I heard a twig snap and I turned my heart racing. Suddenly strong arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me against a rock-solid chest. I gasped, but then a familiar voice whispered in my ear, "Relax, it's just me.''

I recognized James Raven's voice immediately, and my heart slowed down a bit. I turned my head and saw him grinning at me. He was tall, muscular, with sandy-brown hair, and piercing blue eyes. I couldn't believe he was mine.

"James," I breathed in relief, "you scared me,'' I told him.

He chuckled, then leaned down and kissed my neck. "Sorry love, I couldn't resist,'' he murmured, his voice low with desire.

I felt his hand move up under my shirt, and I shuddered with anticipation. "James, we shouldn't be doing this,'' I protested weakly. We had promised to wait, to take things slow.

But James Raven was impossible to resist, and tonight, under the bright full moon, he was determined to show me how much he loved me.

"You know you want this, Anna,'' he whispered in my ear, his hand running over my body again, "I can feel it.''

I gasped as he pressed me harder against him, his hand gripping my waist. His scent of pine and musk filled my nostrils, making it hard for me to think clearly. I wanted him, but something held me back.

"James, we can't!" I protested again, trying to push him away.

He gave me a look of hurt and confusion, but then his expression softened. "I'm sorry, Anna,'' he said, pulling away from me slightly, "I didn't mean to pressure you.''

"I know, it's just ... I don't know if I'm ready,'' I admitted.

James sighed, rubbing my back in an attempt to comfort me. "It's okay, we can wait. I just want you to know how much I love you.''

I smiled, leaning into him again. "I love you too, James.''

We stood there under the full moon, I couldn't help but feel a sense of doubt in my heart. Was James the one for me? We had been dating for six months, but something felt missing, like a void that I couldn't fill.

I tried to push those thoughts away, but they lingered in my mind as we walked back to his car. James Raven was perfect, he was kind, caring, and attentive. But was that enough? What if there was someone else out there for me?

We drove back to my place in silence, the only sound being the soft hum of the engine. James seemed distant, lost in thought, and it made me question whether he was truly happy in our relationship. I felt like I was walking on eggshells, afraid to upset him or risk losing him.

I was lost deep in thought when James stopped the car in front of my apartment complex. "I'll walk you to your door,'' he told me, getting out of the car.

I nodded mutely, my heart heavy. As we walked to my door, I couldn't help but glance up at the sky, the full moon shining down on us.

I felt a strange energy flutter in my chest, and I knew instinctively that something was about to change. But I had no idea what the future had in store for James and me.

We reached the door, and James turned to face me. "I had a good time tonight, Anna. Maybe we can do it again soon," he said, his blue eyes sparkling with hope.

I smiled back weakly, not wanting to disappoint him, but I knew that I couldn't keep leading him on like this. I had to be honest with myself and with him.

"I'll let you know," I told him before quickly unlocking the door and disappearing inside.

I closed the door behind me, I breathed a sigh of relief, feeling the weight of the world lift off my shoulders. But then my phone buzzed, and I saw that I had an unread message from an unknown number.

My heart started pounding as I opened the message, and what I saw made my breath hitch in my throat.

"I know what you did tonight, Anna. You can't keep hiding from me. I'll find you."

I stared at the message for a moment, my mind racing. Who was this? How did they know about James and me? And most importantly, how dangerous was this person?

I tried to shake off the panic and fear that gripped my heart, but deep down, I knew that I was in for a wild ride. The full moon had always been a symbol of change, but I had no idea just how much my life was about to change.

I stared up at the full moon, its bright light illuminating the forest around me. I knew I wasn't supposed to be here, but the call of the wild was too strong to ignore. I walked deeper into the woods, I could sense that something was off. A feeling of unease settled over me, but I pushed it aside and continued.

Suddenly, I heard a low growl, and my heart began to race. I turned to run, but a strong hand grabbed my arm, pulling me back. I spun around to face my captor, and my breath caught in my throat.

It was Ryan Knight, the Alpha king of our pack. He was known for his cold demeanor and controlling ways, and seeing him now, in the flesh, made me feel both nervous and excited. I tried to pull away from him, but he held me fast.

"Anna, what are you doing here?" he asked, his voice laced with annoyance.

"I--I was just taking a walk," I stammered, my eyes darting around nervously.

"Well, you should know better than to wander around the woods at night. It's dangerous," he said sternly, his grip on my arm tightening.

"I'll be more careful from now on," I promised, trying to pull myself away from him again.

"I don't think you understand the gravity of the situation, Anna," he said, his voice low and commanding. "You are not just a member of this pack. You are the mate of James Raven, and my laws dictate that you must remain faithful to him."
