Chapter 6: joy at home

“Okay darling, thanks for your sweet words have a good night,” Cassey said,

“Thanks and same to you same to you sweetheart,” Richard mentioned.

While Richard and Cassey were on the phone discussing, Chelsea stood behind Cassey’s door to hear everything and she was not happy as Richard kept assuring her everything was gonna be fine, “I gotta find how I'm gonna stop this two from getting married, it’s impossible she can't be getting married while I who is of age isn't yet married, well I'll wait for them to get to Hilton, if Richard’s mom accepts her as daughter-in-law then I'll know what to do by then.” Chelsea said, she heard as Genny opened her door and she rushed to have a seat, she never wanted her to discover she was listening to Cassey’s conversation over the phone. “Hey Genny do you want some coffee I can help make that for you,” Chelsea asked with a smile on her face.

“You don't have to pretend when you are in front of me, I know people like you so well okay,” Genny retorted. Chelsea knew Genny loved coffee and she knew she was on her way to the kitchen to go get one. Genny got to the kitchen to make herself a cup of coffee but she noticed the hot water in the flask was finished so she had to start from scratch which was warming water before making herself the coffee, Chelsea followed her to the kitchen, “Genny I want you to know that we have no problem, and I don't know why you keep avoiding me, even though you talk to me rudely I still want you to know that I'm like a sister to you, and I'll do everything to stand by you and Cassey,” Chelsea said while trying to place her hands on Genny.

“Hey stop there, you dare not place your filthy hands on me, you know that I am aware of your plans so you want to make me feel like I'm the rude one in front of my sister, but keep this in mind I won't stop until my sister knows the type of thing you are,” Genny screamed out.

“One day you'll thank me for all what have been doing,”

“Please I need to be alone, can you get out now,” Genny said in anger.

Chelsea left the kitchen for the living room as she had failed to convince Genny, she knew she was the only one who could ruin her plans, “I won't allow that little brat ruin my plans, if she dares me then I won't have no choice than to eliminate her,” Chelsea said with a fierce face. Genny was done in the kitchen after spending almost 25 minutes there, she was done and was on her way to her room when she met again with Genny, this time she ignored her and went to her room, Chelsea equally ignored her too and left for hers, she was tired of pretending.

The next morning, the skies were gleaming, indicating good weather, Cassey’s was still at sleep her alarm rang but she ignored it, it's when she taught of Richard before she remembered they had to go see his mom and they were traveling that morning by 8:00 AM, she quickly jumped out of bed and checked her time, “what it’s 7:15 AM already, I got to be fast with my shower, luckily I had already sorted out the dress I'll be wearing this morning like it would have been a mess,” Cassey said. She quickly entered the bathroom and was fast in less than 10 minutes she was out of there, trying to dry herself up, she received a call from Richard, she answered the call and he said he was on his way to come pick her at the house, and she was now shivering because from Richard’s actual location to her house was just 20 minutes drives, she never knew if she was gonna be done in 20 minutes, dropping her call she taught of calling on Genny to come help her but she remembered Genny was mad at her last night as she yelled at her because of her rudeness towards Chelsea, she tried doing everything by herself. Genny was now out of bed and went brushing her teeth, done, she got to Cassey’s room “hello sis how did you sleep?” Genny asked with a soft voice, she was just from getting up so she had not enough energy.

“I slept well and you?” Cassey asked while struggling to get dressed.

“I’m good, I came helping you out before Richard arrives, I knew you were still stuck here,” Genny said with a smile on her face. She helped her with her shoe and handbag while she did other things, just when they were done, a knock on the door was heard from their room, “it should be Richard, let me go open the door for him,” Genny said as she made her way to the living room. She opened the door and it was Richard as she guessed, “Hello Richard good morning,” Genny said with a smile on her face.

“Hello Genny how are you?”

“I’m fine thanks,”

“Okay, so is Cassey ready?” Richard asked as it was more than 8:00 AM, Cassey was still in the room and she heard this question then she jumped out of the room to tell him she was ready, “wow, you are beautiful this morning darling,” Richard said as he was lost in Cassey’s look.

“Thanks my love,” Cassey said with a smile on her face. Richard loved her outfit, as she was wearing a pink straight gown, a black high heel, and a black luxury purse, the purse was offered to her by Genny three days ago, she knew as Cassey was going to visit the rich people she needed to be elegant too, so she used some of her economies to get her sister a luxury purse. They were about living but Chelsea was still in her room, she never showed up to wish a friend Cassey the best. Genny was the only one present for her, she accompanied her to the car, and told her everything was gonna be fine. “Why is Chelsea not present to wish me a good journey? Is she still sleeping?” Cassey asked as she was a little bit stressed up.

“Forget about that for the moment, you are late already, you will discuss that with her when you will be back from Hilton, for now, all you should be thinking about is you and your future okay?” Genny said while holding Cassey’s hands.

“Okay sis, I love you,” Cassey said with a smile on her face.

“I love you more, Richard please take good care of my sister, she's the only one I have,” Genny said while facing Richard.

“I’ll do just that,” Richard said. And once they left, she returned to the cottage, she was about to enter her room when she heard Chelsea laugh so hard over the phone, “I knew Chelsea wasn't sleeping, she never wanted just to be present to wish Cassey a good journey, and Cassey thinks Chelsea is a friend to her.” Genny said in anger.

Back in Hilton, the morning just unfolded itself, Mrs. Rosemary stepped out of bed and headed to her kitchen, she told her maids she needed them to make Richard’s favorite dishes, and she gave them a list of items to go buy at the supermarket, she went out of the living room and told the other two maids to clean the living room so well and she wanted it well decorated, the ladies rushed to go clean the living room and the other ladies were on their way to the supermarket, Ivy was in her room seeing all that was happening down and was confused as to why her mother needed the living room, “who are we expecting today, I guess mom is up to something I have to know what it's all about,” Ivy said. She jumped out of her bed and was on her way to the balcony to go meet her mom, “Hey mom good morning, how did you sleep?” Ivy asked while giving a kiss on her mother's forehead.

“I slept so well,” Mrs. Rosemary said while smiling.

“I can see, so tell me who are we expecting today?” Ivy asked.

“Your big brother called me last night informing me he was gonna be home today, he said he got a surprise for us,” Mrs. Rosemary said with a smile on her face.

“Wow, this is good news mom, and for the surprise, I can't wait ooh, I'm so happy gearing this news right now,” Ivy said.

The maids were soon back from the supermarket and they were in the kitchen doing their job, they started with Chicken, and later got to beef and started with the sauces, Mrs. Rosemary constantly visited the kitchen and she made sure everything was in its place. Ivy was in her room and usual she was listening to good music, she was the lazy fellow who never adored working, to her she was so beautiful to engage herself in house chores, the fact she came from a wealthy family made her believe she was destined to be served by people, Richard always told her as a woman she was not supposed to relaxe herself but each time he tried advising her, Mrs. Rosemary always defended her, she said her daughter was a precious gold or needed not to be over stressed.

Richard and Cassey were still on their journey, they stopped by a supermarket as he wanted to make them a gift, he knew his little sister Ivy loved wrist watches, so he got one for her, for his mom he got a luxury gold purse, it was so glittering that he could not resist the beauty of the purse. After he bought the articles, they continued their journey. Cassey seeing how much he had spent to get his family such gift was shocked, it was her first time entering into a luxury shop where articles were sold at 100,000$, she couldn't believe people were ready to spend such an amount of money just on clothes and shoes, things which were not important. The journey went on for about 3 hours and as tired as Cassey was, she asked Richard if they were still far and he said they were left with 25 minutes drive to his home, at that minute, Cassey’s heart was about to explode, she could not believe in some few minutes, she was going to be meeting Richard’s mom face to face, and she was afraid of her reaction, she still feared Mrs. Rosemary wasn't going to accept her despite the fact Richard asked her to be calm, she couldn't because Chelsea kept reminding her from the background in which she came from and how she stood a chance of been rejected by Richard’s family. As they arrived in front of Richard’s gate, he alarmed “Is this your house?” Cassey asked as she was shocked.

“Yes, we have to wait for the security to open the gate so I can park the car inside,” Richard said, Cassey couldn't believe it was his father's house, it was so big, she had never dreamt of entering into such house, her heart was beating so fast that Richard could perceive it, he placed his hands on her chest and asked her not to be afraid, he said his mom was a kind woman and wasn't going to reject her, he assured her again that was when everything went to normal. The security opened the gate widely for him, he drove inside, his mom was standing in front of the login and waiting for him, she was so happy to receive her son back home after 6 months of her not seeing him. He stopped the car and told Cassey they could go out, she had seen Mrs. Rosemary already when they walked in, and she never knew of what she was made up, she was about to discover it in a few hours. They both walked out of the car to go meet Mrs. Rosemary, Richard was walking a little bit fast as he needed to embrace his mom, while Cassey was behind him and she took all her time.

“My son, oh my god, I can't believe you are the one standing in front of me right now,” Mrs. Rosemary said as she hug Richard.

“I’m the one, it feels good seeing you after 6 months,” Richard said.

Mrs. Rosemary had seen the lady with whom Richard was and never said anything about it, she wanted him to present the lady to her before she could say anything, Cassey was now in front of Mrs. Rosemary she had managed to be bold, she greeted her in a very polite manner, and Mrs. Rosemary answered politely.
