Love Past part 1

Years ago

Jason, sitting on a park bench, his mind floated among memories of the past. He never thought he would find him, much less that the flame of love would reignite as if it had never been extinguished.

When he saw that charming man getting out of the luxury car that had just parked, his heart skipped a beat, as it hadn't in a long time. For a fraction of a second, he thought it would leap out of his mouth. He knew it was madness. Jason was mesmerized by the man getting out of the car, unable to take his eyes off him.

Xander parked the car in a spot facing the park. He was certain he would find him there, and sure enough, Jason was there, staring shamelessly. He gave a slight smile.

“Finally found you!” he thought, rounding the car. With each step he took towards where Jason was sitting, his heart raced.

“Damn! He's coming over here,” Jason thought, averting his gaze from Xander. He knew this encounter was inevitable. Sooner or later they would meet, which he did not want at all. He didn’t want it, or rather, he couldn’t, not at that moment.

“Going to run away again?” Xander asked as he reached Jason, with irony in his voice. He grabbed his left shoulder, as if to say you’re not going anywhere.

“No, I'm not, Xander!” Jason exclaimed with a bit of anger in his voice.

“Are you mad because I found you?” he asked, sitting down next to Jason, holding his hand to prevent him from fleeing.

“I'm not mad, I just need some time,” Jason concluded without even thinking for a minute.

“I gave you plenty of time, Jason,” Xander retorted impatiently. “I gave you a damn ten years...”

“And it wasn't enough!” Jason countered. “You have to understand... I'm not ready yet.”

“And when will you be?” Xander asked, his eyes already filling with tears.

“I truly don't know, Xander,” Jason responded, melancholy in his voice.

“I can't wait any longer...” Xander started, being interrupted by his beloved.

“Wait for me,” Jason concluded, tears starting to stream down his face. He was distraught for not living beside his love, his soulmate. However, he had to do what his parents ordered, or else Xander would pay for his “stubbornness,” according to his father.

Xander didn’t understand why Jason was doing this. If he thought he was protecting him from getting hurt, he was sorely mistaken.

“Don't cry, my love,” Xander said, wiping away the tears that ran down his left cheek with his finger.

“Now that everything is clear, I'm leaving,” Jason said, getting up. Without looking back, he walked away.

Both would now live their lives heading in different directions.
