Chapter 5. The Special One

"Hey, you! What are you doing there! Eavesdrop!"

The sound of Kinanti's lover's scream shocked Ardhan. As soon as the motorcycle engine started, Ardhan immediately left the place. Luckily, he knew an alternative route to his house. In a short time, Ardhan had arrived at his house.

“Just got home, boss? After the meeting with Mr. Takur, right?" quipped the mother as she opened the door of the house. “Salesmen usually come home at night. What do you do at the office? I keep working overtime, but I don't have any money. Amazed."

Ardhan ignored his mother's continued nagging. He immediately lay down on his back on the bed when he was in the room. The man closed his eyes, and many thoughts emerged. Especially regarding Kinanti's lover, if her guess is correct, then she must be prepared to face this man.

Just the thought of working with a man like that made him frustrated. He ruffled his hair roughly, an annoyed snort leaving his mouth. Ardhan didn't want to get lost in his own fantasies, he tried to catch his breath and act calm. Over time, he entered dreamland.

It felt like it had only been a short time since the tall man had slept, but he had to end it because the alarm went off loudly. Ardhan opened his eyes quickly, then stood up quickly towards the bathroom. Today, an important task awaited him.

In a short time, he was ready to go to the office. This morning, his motorcycle didn't break down again, so his journey to the office was smooth. "Ardhan, come with me to the meeting room first," said Mr. Bobby when they met in the office corridor.

"Okay sir."

Ardhan followed his boss to the room at the end of the hall. In the large room, there were only the two of them and several piles of files that Ardhan had to carry when meeting his clients.

“You study for a while and then go to the project. Meet with our clients to discuss the continuation of this collaboration." Report whatever happens there," said Mr. Bobby. "One more thing, be careful with Prama, Dhan."

"Why are you careful, sir?" Ardhan asked curiously. But Mr. Bobby was reluctant to tell his subordinates, the man with thick glasses just walked away. Ardhan sat alone in such a large room, his mind filled with questions again.

Because he was thinking too much about Prama, he didn't realize that someone had entered the meeting room. “Hey Dhan, what are you doing here? "Sales pretend to sit in the meeting room," scolded Jundi.

"It's still early, don't look for things," said Ardhan, who was still talking casually with his enemy. "Go, I'm dizzy."

"If you can't afford it, then give it to someone else, there are still many qualified employees," said Jundi.

"Okay, I will tell Mr. Bobby and the other staff if you ask me to withdraw from this project," said Ardhan while tidying up all the files.

"Wait, wait a minute, Dhan," said Jundi, panicking. “You misunderstood; I didn't tell you to back off."

I'm just saying that there are other people who are more qualified than you," explained the man.

"Who is it?" Ardhan asked.

"Anyone, it could be other junior employees or high-achieving employees like me."

"Okay, I will tell Mr. Bobby if you are suitable to replace me," said Ardhan, who immediately walked towards the door of the room. Jundi tried to restrain him, he said that Ardhan misunderstood what he said.

"I'll go first, have a good job," said Jundi as he walked towards the exit. Ardhan chuckled amusedly at the employee's behavior. After finishing studying all the files, Ardhan then went to the project to meet with his client.

The project location that Ardhan was aiming for turned out to be not far from his position last night. Prama and his friends had arrived first. "Sorry, sir, I'm late," said Ardhan while shaking hands.

"No, Mr. Ardhan, you are not late. "We did leave early," said Prama, smiling faintly.

They then walked into a room and started having a small meeting. Ardhan conveyed what was written in the file, and as a company representative, he had to report the results of the meeting. Ardhan couldn't concentrate fully because he was distracted by two things, one was his superior's message and Prama's eyeballs. "It should be red, not orange," he thought.

"Why, Mr. Ardhan? Is there something you want to say?" Prama asked, his face looking serious at the man.

"Oh no, Mr. Prama, there aren't any," said Ardhan, panicking.

The meeting continued again until an agreement was reached. After that, they all went out to the project that was being worked on by Prama company employees. Ardhan remained there to supervise until lunchtime arrived.

"Let's have lunch first, Mr. Ardhan," said Prama's men.

"Please, sir, just go ahead. "I'll catch up later," Ardhan refused because he was still making a report to give to his superiors. Likewise with Prama, who is still struggling in front of his laptop.

Both of their activities were stopped because Prama's cell phone rang loudly. Ardhan continued to pay attention to the man sitting not far from him. Suddenly, Prama kicked the chair nearby and walked out of the room.

Of course, this surprised Ardhan, the man who had always been friendly to him turned into an angry man. Out of curiosity, Ardhan then followed Prama's steps. The big boss apparently went to the parking lot, more precisely to a white car.

From inside the car came out a woman he knew. Ardhan's guess last night was correct, Prama is Kinanti's lover. The man approached his girlfriend, and they talked privately. Ardhan intended to continue working, but he stopped because he heard Prama screaming.

"Don't make me angrier, okay?" Prama shouted. "I've told you many times not to come when I'm working!"

"I came all right, I didn't mean to bother you after all -"

Kinanti's words stopped because she saw her lover had raised his hand, about to hit her. Without realizing it, Ardhan stepped forward and was moved to help Kinanti.

"Hit me! Why just stop hitting!” shouted Kinanthi while crying. "Isn't it normal for you to hit me, Come on!"

Ardhan widened his eyes, he did not expect that Prama would also commit acts of violence against his lover. Ardhan also gave up his intention to return to work, he wanted to make sure that Prama did not continue his bad treatment.

While he was monitoring the fight between the two lovebirds, a call came from his boss, forcing him to stay away from the location.

"Hello, sir," said Ardhan, trying to be as calm as possible.

"[Dhan, how are things over there? Why haven't you submitted a report yet?]”

"Okay, Mr. Bobby, I'll send it in a moment," answered Ardhan.

"[Things are fine there, right, Dhan? There are no obstacles, everyone agrees to our terms?]”

"Yes, sir, everything is fine," said Ardhan.

“[That's good, then, you are indeed reliable. Quickly complete the report, send it to me immediately.]”

After the telephone call ended, Ardhan looked for Prama and Kinanti's whereabouts, but they were both no longer there, and neither was the white vehicle. Ardhan's cell phone rang again, and he received a short message from Prama. Instantly, his body stiffened.

“Goddamn it!”
