Chapter 9.

Third person's POV.

Andrew wakes up and slowly takes in his surroundings. 1 month, 7 days, 4 hours and 22 minutes have passed since his parents and friends came to check up on Andrew sitting next to him in the hospital chair waiting for something to change.

All they wanted was for him to get better, his mother put a stop to her business travels, she hadn't left his side the entire time he had put in this hospital room while his dad still had to watch over the company.

His mom and Brittany were the ones watching over him.

On seeing that he is awake, his mom stands up from the chair and tries to get his attention by calling his name "Andrew" just wanting to see her son,

Andrew just sits there in his hospital bed staring at his mother and Brittany with a puzzled look look "ill be right back love, I'm going to get the doctor" his mom says before walking out of the room

Doctor Martha and his mother walking right behind her walks into the room, as he still stared at Brittany's sunken face and he wondered why.

Dr Martha walks to the foot of the bed while his mom walks over to the direction Brittany's side of the bed in which she stood.

"How are you feeling" Dr Martha asks Andrew as his mother gently takes is hand in hers. Andrew says nothing but just looks at his mother's hand holding his.

Andrew slowly looks up slightly examining Brittany, he couldn't help but blush a little as he moves his eyes to her's, Brittany's eyes meets with Andrew's.

Brittany gently smiles and she quickly looks away towards Dr Martha,

Andrew says, "what?" Like he wasn't listening. Dr Martha repeats "How are you feeling".

Andrew says "I'm good but.."

He pauses and looks at Brittany then to his mom then to Brittany again.

"Do we know her" he asks his mother turning his gaze to Brittany.

Mrs Rave squeezes her son's and as she says "yes son, she is your best friend".

"Best friend?" Andrew says shocked and confused "yes" Brittany says as she and Mrs Rave looks at Dr Martha scared, puzzled, concerned and heart broken.

Dr Martha writes something down on his clipboard while saying "He has amnesia". Brittany and Mrs Rave says at the same time "amnesia?" Brittany puzzled and Mrs sky concerned for her son.

Dr Martha looks at Andrew and says, "what is the last thing you remember?" Andrew thinks for a minute before saying " me and my friend beauty at an ice cream shop, why isn't she here by the way".

Brittany's heart sinks. He doesn't remember any of their memories only the memory of when her sister and him we're friends, he doesn't remember her.

Mrs Sky sits down in the chair that is right next to the bed and stares down at the ground saddened as to how to tell her son that his friend which he remembers is dead.

Dr Martha asks Andrew "so you don't remember the accident that led you here, into the hospital?" Dr Martha says "yes, you hit your head on the stone and you were found unconscious it was a good Samaritan that found you bleeding and brought you over"

Andrew looks over at Brittany and can tell she is sad "are you alright" he asked Brittany looks up at Andrew and let's our a smile as she says "I'm fine Andy".

Andrew feels slightly uneasy as Brittany calls him with a pet name. Andrew asks Brittany "can you not call me that".

Brittany looks at Andrew and asks "what, Andy", "yes" he replies slightly more saddened Brittany says "oh sorry, I won't".

Andrew waits a minute then asks " why isn't Beauty here yet?", "She's on her way" his mother quickly says giving Brittany a quick knowing look.

Andrew still not convinced about his friend's whereabout he looks down at his hand and tries to make it his point of action.

"Why don't you have a talk with Brittany, she's your close friend also" Mrs Sky says pushing Brittany forward leaving the room with Doctor Martha.

Andrew sighs then says "why are still here" , Brittany smiles and says, "because I'm your friend, best friend at that".

Brittany asks"would you like to hear the story of how we became best friends" not getting a reply from Andrew she continued narrating the story " One day I fought with my parents and you stood up and fought for me and wiped my tears away".

Andrew just laying there on the hospital bed looking at Brittany just as he has been looking since his mom and the doctor left his room as he studied her, she's not lying but how"

She had to be lying he tells himself, he couldn't remember any moments with her as his best friend.

Andrew shakes his head as he says "you expect me to believe that, if you didn't want to tell me the truth, you could have kept quiet instead of telling me this cooked up fairy tale". "I'm telling you the truth" Brittany says wanting him to remember something anything.

"Can you tell your sister that she's mean for not being here while I'm awake" Andrew replies angrily. Brittany thinks for a second then says "okay goodnight" as she leaves the hospital.

2 days later.

Laughing with his parents, who are talking about him going to work after he gets healthy since graduation as already taken place.

Nick walks in after hearing that Andrew is out of coma, he wanted to see him before he travels.

"Yo Nick man" Andrew says,

"Hey man" Nick replies

"Thank goodness you are here, please call beauty for me I want to speak with her, leaving her bestie here for days without checking up on him".

Nick's heart sinks as Mrs Rave looks anxiously as she knew it was time for him to know the truth.

"She's dead" his mother starts rubbing his back as Nick says "I'm sorry lass".

Andrew shakes his mother's hand off and says " leave me alone mom and dad, I want to speak with Nick alone" which they obliged to.

A tear runs down his face as he asks Nick "how did she die"

Andrew just lies there staring at the wall sadly as Nick goes over the story of beauty, telling him how Brittany comes into the picture as his best friend.

Then she walks in, she looks at Nick and says "you know you don't really have to leave", "Nah I have to I'll be back in a year maximum tho" he says as he leaves.
