-DALLAS'S POV-
"The boys are on their way." Jake said looking at his screen. We just got in the parking lot and ran into the hospital.
"Where is Riley Evans and Molly Jacobs?" I asked as calmly as possible. Also we needed to see if Riley's mom is okay. She is like our second mom. And she let us do anything when we're with her.
"Sorry sir they're still in surgery but we will call you when they're done. Can you please sit down in the waiting room? The doctor is almost done." The nurse said. She was kinda hot. The other boys left so I stayed behind to chat with her. She looked around my age... I think. But she has brown hair with golden high lights and big brown eyes with a small nose and plump lips. Damn. And her make up.
"So. What's your name?" I asked her while she was straightening out a bunch of papers.
"Maggie. And yours?" She said putting down the papers and giving me her attention.
"Well Maggie, my name is Dallas. And I think you're hot." I said smirking, leaning on the counter. She blushed but quickly put her hands on her cheek.
"Thanks. How old are you anyways?" She started to rub her cheeks, thinking it would stop her from blushing.
"18 going on 19. You?" When I asked she said she would be right back, and to stay here cause there was an employee asking for her.
"And I'm back. To answer your question, I'm 16." She said stapling her papers.
"And you work at a hospital?!" I asked bewildered.
"Yeah, but I'm only at the desk so I don't do anything too crazy." She started to awkwardly laugh.
"Well how about some time this week I can take you on a date?" I asked fixing my hair trying to hide my nervousness.
"Sure." She said smiling. Dang her teeth are perfect. She wrote down her number and I put it in my pocket.
"I got to get back to my friends, but I'll see you around this week?" I questioned walking backwards. She bit her bottom lip and nodded.
-DARRY'S POV-
"When they call Riley, I'll go to see her. And when they call Molly, you go to her. Unless they're in the same room." I said to Jake cause Dallas decided to ditch us for the front desk nurse. Of course, he can't resist a new pretty face.
"Riley Evans and Molly Jacobs?" The doctor said coming in. That's when Dallas came, so all three of us walked over to him. "Are you guys here for Riley and Molly?" We just nodded. Where are the other boys? Oh well.
"Okay Riley is perfectly fine, but... She's gonna have amnesia for about 2 days. And she's bruised and cut with a broken rib, arm, and a piece of glass cut her leg pretty deep. Oh and a broken leg." The doctor said. Oh thank god she's at least alive."but as for Molly she's I. Critical condition and has a 10% chance of waking up." Oh shit.
"Can we see them?" I asked quietly. The doctor told us the room number because they were in the same room, and left us alone with them.
"Hey Dare." I heard Riley say. I thought she can't remember anything for 2 days?
"Hey Rye. You alright?" I know she's okay but I was crying because of her mom and her reaction of us telling her.
"Do you remember us?" Jake asked before she could answer my question.
"Yeah my best friends, Darren and Dallas. And my new friend Jake." She said leaning on her pillow.
"Kay good. Do you remember what happen to you that made you get in here?" Dallas asked trying to sit on her bed.
"Um... No I don't but the doctor said I would." She replied trying to think what happened.
-NEXT DAY-
-RILEYS POV-
I woke up the next day at 3:00 in the morning and couldn't do anything cause I was lazy and there's those IV things in my arms. So I just layed there. I saw a lady on the other side of the room completely still. She looked so familiar but I forgot who she was. Just then my brothers Brandon and Taylor came in. '3:00 in the morning?' I thought.
"Hey pupsicle." Brandon said going to me first. Taylor went to the lady across from me and started crying.
"Hey. What's up with tay?" I asked elevating my bed so I was sitting up.
"You don't remember who she is?" Brandon asked sitting on my bed.
"N-" I took a better look and knew exactly who that was. "What happened?" Tears started to go down my face as I tried to remember.
"An SUV hit you guys on moms side and flipped y'all over." When he said that, all the memories fled back into my mind.
"Is mom okay?" I asked looking straight ahead.
"She has a 10% chance of living." The doctor said coming back into the room.
"Is she in a coma?" Now my tears were rimmed around my eyes from what the doctor said.
"Yes I'm afraid so. The SUV driver was drunk and was going 190, running a red light." I started crying full out and Brandon reached out and held my hand, then he tugged it so next thing I know I'm hugging him while Taylor talks to the doctor.
"C'mon we can go home." Taylor said as the doctor gave me a list of things and tips about my casts. Brandon put his arm around my waist to keep me up, and handed me my old crutches from when I broke my foot in 7th grade. I smile remembering what happened and attempted to walk out the hospital. Of course I was a little rusty because I accidentally put one of the crutches in a hole in the street and almost fell. I tried to play it off like I was playing around, but Taylor knew my tricks so he snickered and pick me up and I carried my crutches.
Back at home
Riley's POV
My brothers ended up taking me to get ice cream and when we got home Taylor locking and unlocking to doors so I couldn't get out. After 10 minutes I just rolled down my window, threw my crutches out and almost broke my left leg trying to get out. When I got up and out I turned around and stuck my tongue at him. When I opened the door, all the blinds and lights were turned off and shut. The same time I turned the light on I pulled out my pistol I left in the car, and pointed it straight.
"SURP-" Wait, what? "AHHH WATCH OUT SHE HAS A GUN!" Oh god. I pulled a gun on my family trying to surprise me. Quickly I put it down and started laughing.
"Oh gosh, you guys thought this was a real gun?! This is a prank gun! What are you guys doing here?" Even though this gun is real, I didn't want to think my mom raised me like this, and to tell you the truth, she didn't. I was always interested in things girls my age shouldn't be interested in. For example guns, motorcycles, cars, and rough sports. I was always inspired by my brothers and their friends because since my mom had us when she was in her teens, she was always at school or working to get us money for rent. When she got pregnant our grandma kicked her out and she was forced to grow up on the streets and get more jobs.
"You okay hun? We're Molina?" My aunt Cherry asked putting her hand on my back.
"Yeah just a little jumpy." I replied with a fake smile.
"Well surprise! This is a welcome home party." My aunt said leading me to the front of the crowd.
"Hey everyone, thanks for coming, but who threw this?" A asked trying to act like my mom, and not sounding rude whatsoever.
"Go to the backyard." My uncle Ned pointed. I just nodded and slowly walk to the back.
"Hey cripple! Welcome home!" No they did not. All my friends threw this party?
"My boys!" I yelled, dropping my crutches and hopping to them. As I approached them I took all my energy, and jumped into the center of the circle of my best friends.
"Ahem." Taylor coughed and was tapping his foot.
"Yeah tay?" I asked using Dallas and Darry as a rest. I'm still tired from that jump I did.
"Who are your friends?" He crossed his arms. Everyone was still inside so it was just me, Taylor, and my friends.
"Ohhhhh; well this is Dallas, Darren, Andrew, Johnny, Jack, Aaron, Cameron, Carter, Jacob, Shawn, Dillon, Ben, Sammy, Nate, Matt, Michael, Daniel, Luke,Trevor, and lastly Ryan. That was a breath taker." I said out of breath naming my best buds.
"oh well, hey I'm Taylor." He said awkwardly. He hasn't been to mom's house in a while. He lives with my dad so he doesn't know any of my friends.
"Wanna hang out with us?" I felt really bad cause he never had friends here in Portland. That's why he moved to my dad's house.
"Uh sure." He started to walk over when Brandon came out.
"Hey guys, there's food inside. Taylor, if you're trying to hang out with them, be prepared to get in big trouble and run a lot." Brandon ran his fingers through his dark brown hair, while chuckling. Taylor looked at us and looked confused and surprised.
"What did he mean by that?" I started to laugh a little along with the boys. We were still in that little huddle from the jump.
"Last time Brandon hung out with us, we almost got arrested, so we sprinted all the way home." I chuckled remembering the time we were egging houses.
"Y'all have fun I'm going inside." He said turning around and walking inside.
"Hey Riley, we got you a surprise!" Daniel yelled jumping around. He was the youngest in the group. He is a freshman while we are juniors.
"What's it short stack?" I said hopping to my crutches.
"Dallas got a date and this is yours." Aaron said cutting in. He handed me a rectangular box. I looked at it and looked up.
"If this is a dildo I'm gonna shove it up all your asses when you're sleeping." I said with a serious face. Right when I was gonna open it, Taylor burst through the back door and yelled we have to go. I looked at the boys confused and handed them the box and rush to my bike with Taylor, me driving. I was gonna start it but Taylor got scared of my bike and yanked my arm to go to the car, so I dropped my crutches but kept going. This must be really important.
"Where's Brandon?"
"Back here! Now hurry up and drive to the hospital!" Brandon yelled at me.
At the hospital
"Whats wrong? Why are we here?" We got out the car and Taylor picked me up and sprinted to the building with Brandon following us. They fast walked all the way to my moms room and she wasn't in there. So they ran to the front desk with me still in Taylor's arms.
"Where's Molly Jacobs?" Brandon asked almost yelling.
"Please calm down sir. I'm sorry to say but she has passed away, she was taken away 5 minutes ago." The nurse said looking at her computer. "I'm so sorry for your loss." That was enough for all of us to walk back to the car, and as soon as we got in we started bawling. I tried to sober up as much as I could and drove us back home.
When we got home, I went straight to my room and closed the door ignoring everyone that was talking to me. I sat on my bed looking out of my window. I went on my phone and I dialed in a number. I didn't know who's number it was until the voicemail came on.
"Hey this is Molly Jacobs, I'm sorry I can't get to the phone right now. Leave me a message and I'll get back to you!" Just hearing her voice comforted me.
"Hey mom, I'm sorry about everything. Don't worry I won't let you down. I l-l-l-love y-you. And don't worry this isn't goodbye." With that I hung up and fell to the floor bawling. If only I didn't have detention.
