HAPPY READING
Manda raised her eyebrow. "Who said that?"
"It's just what the office folks are saying. I don't know if it's true," Luna shrugged.
"That's ridiculous! It's really going too far, in my opinion, whoever started spreading such gossip. Risa said she moved to an insurance company and became a marketing manager there."
"Oh, I see."
"They say she got tired of dealing with Mr. Wiga. Working late every day, waiting for the boss, it's like being a servant."
"I can handle working late. It's part of my daily routine. I've even stayed until 1 a.m. in the office."
Manda's eyebrows shot up. "OMG, seriously?"
Luna chuckled. "Yep, seriously. I've had to work on data here, you know. When I'm at my place, I'm off duty, not interested in office work. Why should I be? Even on my days off, I get bothered with office matters. It's so annoying."
"You're right!"
"I used to work in finance, and I never stayed late, maybe until 9 p.m. at most. What were you doing until 1 a.m.? Aren't you afraid the office has ghosts at that hour? I'd just go home."
"It's so nice to be in marketing. If I had known, I would have chosen marketing," Manda chimed in.
Luna joined in the laughter and glanced at Manda. "The office 'ghosts' are my buddies now, so don't worry!" Luna laughed, disposing of the crispy chicken packaging in the trash. She headed to the restroom with Manda following behind.
"What time is Mr. Wiga coming?"
"They said around two when he returns from the airport."
"Oh, I see."
"I hope you'll get along well with Mr. Wiga."
"I hope so too. I'm afraid I'll follow in Risa's footsteps," Luna chuckled.
"Exactly."
Luna cleaned her hands at the sink and applied nude lipstick to her lips. She looked at her reflection in the mirror. She was wearing a white chiffon blouse and a pencil skirt. She had straightened her hair because she had been promoted to secretary yesterday. She didn't want her hair to look messy, as she usually tied it up in a ponytail. Her hair was now perfectly straight, and her face was slightly glowing. The HR manager had emphasized that secretaries should maintain their appearance.
Luna glanced at a woman coming out of a stall and turned her face away, avoiding eye contact.
"I can't stand Annabel!" Luna exclaimed after Annabel left the restroom.
"I know, right? She was trying to throw you under the bus yesterday, complaining to the manager, acting all innocent."
"She's super toxic. Because of her, everyone resigned, and she brought in her own people from her division."
"They're all arrogant! They act like they're the best when they have no skills. Just all talk."
"You're absolutely right. Everyone resigned because of her!"
"By the way, do you think it's us or them who are toxic? Our batch disbanded, and we're the only ones left."
"It's not us who are toxic; it's because we're resilient."
Luna glanced at her circular watch, which showed 1:10, and she needed to return to her desk.
Manda and Luna burst into laughter. "Alright, I'm going back to my throne. I'm afraid King Wiga might suddenly appear, and I won't be there. I might lose my job. And Annabel will laugh at my misfortune," Luna said.
"Alright, you go. My stomach feels upset after eating spicy chicken noodles."
"Goodbye, Manda."
"Goodbye, Luna."
"Give my regards to Mr. Wiga from Manda, the super sexy marketing girl!"
Luna laughed. "You want to send regards? I'll be the one opening my shirt in front of the boss, hoping for a hug from Mr. Wiga."
"Sounds like a dream! Even Risa, who is super pretty, left and couldn't stand it. What about us, the small fry?" Luna and Manda suddenly burst into laughter and left the restroom.

"Are you heading straight to the office?" the driver asked while maneuvering the car.
"Yes," replied Wiga.
He was only going to the office briefly to pick up some documents. He could have asked his secretary to do it, but Risa, his former secretary, had resigned, and her replacement was a public relations employee who had been with the company for a few years. He wasn't entirely sure who this new woman was.
"Your secretary has changed again?" the driver opened the conversation, having heard about Wiga's former secretary resigning.
"Yes, she has. Now, my secretary's name is Luna."
"Is it Luna from the PR division, sir?"
"Yes, do you know her?" Wiga inquired.
"Yes, sir, I do. I used to drive Miss Luna to meet clients quite often."
Wiga nodded in understanding. He knew his driver not only chauffeured him but also other employees to their respective destinations during working hours. He didn't ask further about the woman named Luna, as he didn't consider it crucial.
Wiga leaned back in his seat and closed his eyes for a moment. The flight from Singapore to Jakarta had been exhausting. He made sure everything was running smoothly. In the past, he had personally conducted interviews to select his secretary. However, now he entrusted HR to find a suitable candidate for him.
It wasn't just a direct interview by HR, though. Usually, in the final stages, there would be an interview with him since the secretary would be working closely with him. But he had too much on his plate, so he informed HR that he trusted them to find the right secretary for him.
A few minutes later, the driver stopped the car in front of the lobby. Wiga adjusted his shirt and blazer.
"Thank you," Wiga said to the driver.
"You're welcome, sir."
Wiga grabbed his work bag and walked toward the main lobby. He noticed that the lobby was empty, with only security personnel present. One of the security guards greeted him with a "Good afternoon." He glanced at his circular watch, which showed 2:01 PM. The elevator took them to the upper floors.
His phone rang, and Wiga checked the screen. It displayed "Dad Calling." He slid the green button on the screen and put the phone to his ear.
