chapter 3

A few minutes passed and they continued talking. I'm about to run out of food but they still don't seem to have any intention of leaving the canteen.

"Guys! Let's play truth or dare!" Athena said later.

Everyone agreed with him, except me. I innocently looked at them when they all looked at me.

"Are you joining or not?" cheska asked bluntly.

"Oh, c'mon! Don't be KJ, Claire!"

I didn't do anything but nod, maybe later they will slap me again.

They spin the empty soft drink bottle. It stopped at Athena.

"Dare!" it's an immediate answer.

"Okay! I dare you to kiss a guy on the cheeks."

"That's easy," Athena grinned

He stood up and kissed the man at the other table on the cheek.

I swallowed and adjusted my seat, I didn't seem to like their game.

They parted when Athena returned and spun the bottle again. It stopped at Premalyn.

"Dare, girls."

"We dare you to drink on someone's drink."

Prem immediately stood up and approached the other table. He took a glass and drank from it, the people at the table just looked at him in surprise but did not complain.

Even Cheska was also a dare choice. They ordered her to break up with her boyfriend, which she did.

"Okay! Jenna, Truth or dare?!" They asked Jenna about the bottle at the same time.

"Dare," he grinned.

"Hmm..." they seemed to be talking with their eyes, "We dare you to kiss, klyde, on the lips."

I blinked in shock because of what they ordered Jenna.

"P-that seems like too much," I said weakly.

They looked at me and raised an eyebrow.

"Do you know? It's not you who will kiss," said Cheska.

I just followed Jenna's gaze when she approached Klyde's table. I can't explain the rapid beating of my heart as Jenna approached them.

When they looked at Klyde and Jenna, my friends shouted even more.

I was nervous about what would happen but I watched them anyway. They talked for a while, there were many students looking at them.

My lips parted when Jenna quickly brought her face closer to Klyde's, but before she could apply her lips to it, Klyde quickly moved away and stood up.

Klyde's face showed shock and looked at us, when our eyes met, there was fear and concern in his eyes.

"What's wrong with you?!" Klyde's voice dominated the canteen.

"What? It's just a dare Clyde!" Jenna said.

"I don't care!"

Mark stood up and faced Jenna.

"Jenna, come back here. It's different from a bad trip."

Jenna looked at them for a moment before turning around and walking like a model back to our table.

Klyde is still frowning and obviously had a bad trip. When he looked at us again, I quickly turned my gaze to my colleagues.

"Tsk! His art!" Jenna immediately said as she sat down.

"Girl..."

"Gosh! I'm so embarrassed!"

"It's okay. Maybe Klyde is just in a bad mood," Premalyn calmed him down.

"And since Claire is the only one who hasn't opened the bottle yet..." Cheska turned to me and grinned, "We'll order you."

I swallowed hard and waited for their order. I don't seem to like their strange smile on me.

"We order you to get the new student's number."

I just obeyed their orders. Aldrin? Eh, it's stuck on!

"b-but-"

"Just do it, Claire! There's so much more art!"

I sighed and stood up. I bowed my head and walked towards Aldrin who was eating alone.

Premalyn was shouting so much that even the other students could look at me.

They knew Aldrin wouldn't give it so that's what they ordered me to do.

"Why?" Aldrin asked as I finally got closer to him.

His serious voice made me nervous.

"uh..." I couldn't say what I came here for.

His gaze penetrated behind me where my friends were all cheering for me.

"What do you need?" he seemed impatient to ask.

"C-can I get your n-number?" I stuttered.

He frowned as if he didn't believe my question. Again, he looked at premalyn's behavior.

The shouting in the back stopped when Aldrin took my hand and wrote his number on it.

When he wrote the number on my hand, he put the pen back in his polo shirt and continued eating as if nothing had happened.

Still shocked by what happened, I returned to our table. Jenna looked at my hand in disbelief.

"Did he... really give his number to you?" Cheska still couldn't believe it.

I just shrugged my shoulders and showed my hand with a number written on it.

They looked at my hand again and slowly looked away from it. I bowed and sat down again.

When they returned to the classroom, they didn't wait for me, they went ahead as if they weren't with me. I think they are upset with me because I did that dare.

"Claire," I turned to my side when I heard Mark.

I was able to walk with them but what surprised me was how fast Klyde was walking, he had left his friends.

I followed him with a sneer. Is he still having a bad trip with what Jenna did?

"Ah, it's Klyde! He has to go somewhere, so he's already here," Mark said. He seemed to notice the way I looked at Klyde.

I just smiled at them and continued walking, they followed me.

Mark said that Klyde was going somewhere, but when we got to the classroom, he was sitting in his chair and looking away.

I looked at Mark and hesitated to smile, his lying was really sloppy.

I just sighed and sat in my chair. When I looked at Klyde again, his gaze was still outside and his forehead was slightly wrinkled.

The whole class ended that day and I can still feel Jenna's annoyance with me.

I went home and when I left the classroom I was with Aldrin. His serious look fell on my hand.

"Ah, don't worry, I'll erase it too. We were just playing a while ago," I explained.

"Tss. They ordered you to do that to embarrass you. Just find a new friend," he just said and left.

I remained standing there and followed him.

"Are you going to call him?"

I almost jumped in shock when someone spoke behind me. I was even more nervous when I saw that it was Klyde, only a strap of a bag was hanging on his shoulder, his hair was messy as if he had just run his hands through it.

Tayo fixed me up because I felt small because of his great height. He was slightly bent and I looked up at him.

"N-no. He and I were just playing together earlier that's why I took his n-number," I answered.

I'm still nervous and I don't know why.

"You're not going to call him?" he asked again, I bowed.

"Klyde... You just repeated your question," I said with a snort.

"Are you going to call him?"

What is Klyde, I'm afraid of him, eh.

"No..." I said in a small voice.

I looked up when he took something from his bag, it was mineral water. I was even more surprised when he took my hand, poured water on it and gently erased the numbers written on it. He was serious about what he was doing and even bit his lip.

When he finished erasing the numbers, he straightened up and simply threw the empty bottle to the side.

After that, he walked away, his lips parted as I followed him.
