Wayne's POV
I was looking at the little girl crying while looking at his grandfather's coffin.
"She's too young to endure this kind of pain"
I kept looking at that boy who didn't seem to hear the words of the old man next to me.
"Wayne, do you remember her?"
I turned around.
The old man beside me is my grandfather.
"Yes I do. The fist time I met her, she's only 7, but after 11 years, she grows a lot. Look at her now"
"Yeah...and she act matured too. That's how good Felipe is at raising a grandchild."
He is pointing at the man in the coffin.
After all, they are best friends.
He used to visit the old man often, once he took me there, then there I met his only grand daughter.
"Where are her parents? Why is that, the beloved old man are the one who is taking care of her?"
"Her parents died in a car accident. Her both mother and father are only child that's why she has no cousins or even uncle and aunt's. Her mother was also orphaned early so she didn't know any grandparents on her mommy's side. And the his father is the only family left with Felipe. They have a boring and small family. So it's hard for him to accept that the rest of his family is also gone."
Now I realize, who will take care of him? She's still studying, and at the young age, she will realize that she is alone and has no family.
"Lo, what about Don Felipe's last will and testament?"
Grandpa smiled at me.
"I have it, Felipe trusted me ever since. He knows that we are both, I am the stronger one. Before its too late, he already plans what's best for her only grandchild."
"What do you mean?"
"Felipe is a smart person, he knows this day will happen, that's why he talks to me about it. And everything went well."
Even though I was confused, I nodded.
Old talk so I don't understand anything.
I looked back at the girl who had stopped crying but was still hugging her grandfather's coffin.
I saw mom walking towards her while tears were also streaming down her face.
I'm also alone, only child and she wants a daughter but sadly, she can't get pregnant.
I bowed down because I was being carried away by the emotions surrounding me.
If I were him, maybe I could do it.
I have my parents beside me, while she had nothing but herself.
"Grandpa, we have something to talk about"
I looked at Grandpa.
I saw some tears escape from his eyes.
"A-About what?"
"Something important, I'll tell you when."
He gave me a pat on my shoulder before standing up and approaching mommy.
I stopped thinking about someone sitting next to me.
"Dad"
"Dad"
Dad smiled at me then looked in front.
"Weyn, that little girl named Moreen. She had a strong personality, as I look at her, I know how brave she is..."
I looked at the girl who started crying again.
Mom hugging her while Grandpa comforted her.
"I know she can handle it. Look at your Mom, she's hurt seeing the little girl cried!"
I sigh.
"Dad, what if we adopt her? After all, Mommy loves her. I promise, I will be a good brother to her!"
Dad laughed at it.
I frowned.
"That's not what was written in the last will!"
"What do you mean by that? I thought, Don Felipe wants a best life for her?, then the best was giving his grandchild a family to be with right?"
He laughed at what I said and put his arm around me.
"How old are you again?"
Even though I was confused, I answered him.
"I'm 25. Why?"
"You're old, you're about to be thrown off the calendar, but then you're still naughty and young-minded! And what I heard from you now, it seems like that's not you, Weyn."
"Oh com'on dad, this is not about me okay? It's about that boy!"
"I don't think you can still call her 'child' if you know what's inside the last will!"
More and more questions in my mind.
"Dad, Lolo makes me curious when he said that we have something to talk about, then now it's you. What's with you anyway?"
Dad laughed.
I really can't get it!
"What's funny?"
He tapped my shoulder.
"Learn to be a man and not a guy from now on. Are we clear?"
I gaped as I looked at him.
He smiled at me and left me alone.
What on earth?!
