Chapter 6

His gaze went to Talia’s soft and naturally pinkish lips. The thought that she would have made love to another man had he failed to come back sooner suddenly made him murderous.

Idris didn’t want Talia getting aroused by others. He wanted her to be wild only for him. He wanted her to need no other man but him.

“I missed you, you know,” he whispered. “I think of you all the time for the past ten years. I think of you when it rains and wondered if you brought an umbrella and if you were safe. When it’s sunny, I wondered if you were having a good time with your friends. When the night comes, I wondered if you were out on a date. And if you were, I wondered if he was taking care of you properly. And then I’d get jealous all over again.” He sighed. “It’s frustrating and very funny, too. Who’d have thought that I’m capable of being jealous? Probably no one. Not even my own family.”

Talia smiled in her sleep as if she was having a beautiful dream now. She moaned. “Idris…”

Despite the discomfort, it was reassuring to see her smiling now. “I’m right here.”

When he could no longer control his self, he leaned in and planted a soft kiss on her lips.

Heck, he was still rock hard. This was going to be a long, tormenting night for sure.

TALIA stopped running when she suddenly sneezed. It was six in the morning and she was at the park inside the village where she lived. Even if she was not feeling well when she woke up at dawn, she still took a quick shower and decided to run outside to distract herself.

“You are going to catch a cold if you would keep on doing this, Miss San Valentin.”

She was taken aback when she heard that familiar voice. When she turned around, she saw her bodyguard. And here she thought she had successfully managed to escape from him even for a while. Idris placed his jacket on her shoulders when she remained quiet. She was flustered when she remembered what happened between them last night. She thought that she was only dreaming when Idris came in her room while she was writhing in pain.

But when Talia woke up at four in the morning, she saw Idris by her side, holding her hand. She pretended to be sleeping as she released his hand and turned away from his direction. That was when she felt him move and quietly stepped out of her room.

The pain in her core was unbearable last night. And then she remembered suddenly feeling comforted. When she opened her eyes, she saw Idris there. She remembered feeling glad that someone was there with her. But most of all, she remembered the two of them making love in her dream. That’s why she was surprised to find out that he was actually beside her when she woke up.

When Idris left, she stood up and showered. And when she passed by him in the living room a while ago, she saw him sitting on the couch with his hand on his forehead and with his eyes closed. She normally doesn’t jog in the morning. But she didn’t know how to face him and so she left to think. But it was no use now.

She didn’t know how it was possible for Idris to look this fresh. Was he able to sleep the entire time he was with her? She was probably too loud last night that he had to borrow the key to her room to one of the maids to check on her. She couldn’t tell and right now, she didn’t want to know.

Talia appreciated that Idris did not take advantage of her. He just sat on the carpet and held her hand. She was thankful. At the same time, she was… bothered. Not by him but by the feelings he could make her feel. Her body reacted worse with him than with the man whom she had been dreaming about. The dreams she had about that certain Vampire were nothing compared to the dream she had about her bodyguard last night. In her dream, she was consumed by him. By his presence, his scent, his voice, his touch, and his kisses.

And now that Talia was seeing him again, she was consumed by him all over again, wondering how it would feel if those kisses were real.

All of the women who were passing by the road stopped just to look at Idris who was looking only at her. They almost had the same outfit. He was wearing a black jogging pants which he paired with black V-neck shirt and rubber shoes. Now that he removed his jacket, she could clearly see his muscles. They flexed in his every movement. And she wanted to touch and feel them…

Talia shook her head to push away those naughty thoughts. The throbbing between her legs was transforming her into a woman she never thought she could be. It was making her imagine wild things about Idris… Just him.

“Why are you here? I thought you were sleeping.” She was glad that her voice did not embarrass her this time.

The corner of his mouth lifted into a smile. From where she was standing, she could hear the women sighing… along with her.

“Was that the reason why you left without me, Miss San Valentin? I am your bodyguard. Being with you and worrying about you is my job.”

Instead of answering, she wore Idris’ jacket and proceeded on running. His scent lingered on his jacket. It was a mixture of amber and musk. It was sensual and elegant but not overpowering. And she liked it. What she did not like was the fact that Idris could make her feel so giddy that she could hardly speak in front of him.

Her heart almost jumped out of her chest when he suddenly touched her elbow and placed her beside him to keep her away from the bikers as the protective bodyguard that he seemed to be.

“When should we start training, Miss San Valentin?” He asked after a while.

God… even the way he called her sounded more like an endearment in her ears. She must have gone insane. She stopped running and pressed her forehead. Training. Right. If she would push through with that with her current state, she might end up doing something that she would be ashamed of afterwards. She had no complete control over her body right now and over these strange feelings.

“Maybe next time.”

Idris also stopped running. To her surprise, he caressed her cheek. Her cheeks began tingling upon seeing the heat of his stare. Thanks to him, she no longer felt cold.

“There, it’s gone now.”

“W-what is?”

“The dirt. There was something on your cheek a while ago,” he answered before evading her eyes. She didn’t know if it was just her or there really was a naughty gleam in his eyes earlier as if he just made an excuse to touch her. But that was impossible… wasn’t it? She might just be imagining things.

While they were walking, Talia could not help but glance at Idris’ direction. And because she was now tired, she was walking slowly. And he was trying to match her pace. Somehow, she found it… adorable. Before she realized it, she was now smiling. When was the last time she felt this light-hearted despite the body pain and that unbelievable tension she could feel only with him? She couldn’t really remember.

Today seemed to be the first time.

“Idris?”

“Miss San Valentin,” he said as he turned to her and caught her smiling. He was stunned for a few seconds before he cleared his throat. “Yes?”

That morning, Talia wanted to try trusting someone outside her circle. She wanted to try living a normal life. “You can stop with the formalities now and just call me by my name.”

“Talia.”

It was all Idris said but his eyes shone when he spoke her name for the first time. And it warmed her heart.
