Chapter 5: That's what she said. Masson's POV

I got off my motorcycle and placed the helmet on the seat as I helped Kelsey with her helmet. It is the beginning of senior year and I cannot believe I have a girlfriend. What was I thinking? Will that ruin my reputation? Kelsey gave me a gentle smile and intertwined her hand in mine as we walked up to my friends.

Everybody was there. The normal blonde girls that couldn't leave me and my friends alone, all the football players and all the people that smokes. I don't do that though. I am on the football team so I hang with them and of course Kelsey should join me as she is my girlfriend. I cringed at that thought. Kelsey met all my friends over the summer and most of them will shove me in the ribs and ask me if I needed mental help for having a girlfriend. I just think I got sunburned.

We greeted everybody with high fives and Jakes were showing off some of his football moves that he learned over the summer. Nothing new I have not seen before. All the dumb blondes are staring Kelsey down. I rested my arm over her shoulders, scared that if I looked away from her she would be eaten alive. At least Kelsey got along with my friends and all my friends got over the fact that I had my first girlfriend. They think it won't last. I don't either.

I kissed Kelsey goodbye as the bell rang and made my way to homeroom. I have homeroom with most of my friends and we usually sit at the back and make jokes with each other. The day went by really quickly and when I blinked my eyes it was time for lunch.

I grabbed a soda can from the machine and made my way to Matt and Kat. Kat is a cool chick and she at least doesn't talk about herself like most of the girls. We got along pretty well and that is not just because she is dating my best friend. I wanted to sit with my football friends but Kelsey insisted that we sit with Matt and Kat because she got along with them really well. I kind of agreed because I wasn't in the mood for the blonde girls that kept leaning over our table so that we can see their clevage. It is sometimes hot but I am a little tired of it. David calls them the playboy mansion girls and it seemed everybody called them that but they didn't care. They would dress like those girls and if you are in the mood for something hot then they would be first at your doorstep. I want adventure. I want to chase something. All the girls just jump on me before I even know of their existence.

Kelsey ate her chips in silent before she almost choke on them when she remembered that she had to meet with the principal at lunch time. Something about her school schedule. She left me alone with the two lovebirds that couldn't get enough of each other.

Matt whispered something in Kat's ear. "Aaaaww baby...I love you too!" She said with a giggle and I just glared at them. "Can you guys please just go rent a room or something. You make me sick." I said in a disgusted tone before leaning back into my chair. They quickly looked at me, totally forgetting that I was in their presence. Matt just gave me an apologetic look.

He pulled himself out of his love comfort before he took a sip of his juice. "So...how is it going with you and Kelsey?" He asked with a smug look on his face. I leaned forward with my hands on the table. "Great. It couldn't go better." I said in a sarcastic tone. "Yeah...except the playgirls doesn't think so." She nods her head in the direction of the blondes. I just roll my eyes at Kat.

"I don't care about them. I have a girlfriend now and I intend to keep it that way." I said with a smile. "Oh so you are intend to date her for a long time?" He asked with a pained expression on his face that seemed he wanted to burst out in laughter. My blood was boiling inside my body as my eyes burned straight into his.

"Yes you idiot! We have been dating over the summer and I am happy. I want to try this dating thing and it is going great. I will be dating her for a long time."

They both looked at each other before bursting out in laughter. "Carson doesn't seem to think so." Matt laughed while Kat joined in and high fived him.

I stopped to think if I heard correctly. What did he just say? "Carson?" I asked with a confused tone. Her name was never mentioned between the three of us because all of us knew that Carson couldn't stand the sight of me. They both stopped laughing immediately and Kat snapped out of her trance, realising my confusion  and slapped the back of his head. "You moron!" She whispered yell at him. I raised my eyebrows and my eyes flickered between the two of them. They both went silent and looked at each other before looking down at their food.

"What does Carson have to do with this?" I asked in a calm voice. I knew Kat and Carson were best friends. And yes, of course I know who Carson is. Here is only one Carson in our school and THE only brunette I have been with. Carson couldn't stand me because of what I did to her but whatever right? She cannot even stand to be a few feet away from me. So I was totally suprised when they mentioned her name. Carson ignores Kat whenever I am in their presence. Such a weird little girl. She's cute though and feisty. I did like her three years ago when she bumped into me at the college party but now...nahhh.

"Are one of you going to answer me or should I just go and ask Carson herself?" I gestured towards the exit. Kat and Matt stared at me and then Matt spoke up. "Carson made a bet with us that you and Kelsey won't make it till the end of the month." Matt said slowly. Kat almost threw her head off her shoulders when she stares at him. "Ouch!" Matt groans and pulls up his leg to rub his shin. I guess Kat kicked him from under the table. My eyebrows rose up as I went into thought.

Carson said that? She doesn't even want anything to do with me. Why the hell does she go around with my name in her mouth. Clever girl. She seems so quiet but there is a lot of darkness under that tanned skin of her. She is messing with me in the wrong way. "What did she bet you guys?" I asked them thoughfully. "Nothing. She said that we must mark her words that you won't last and she laughed her ass off when we told her you got a girlfriend....she also said that she won't bet anything with us because she is not going to stoop to your level." Kat explained. I could see her adam's apple go up and down in her throat. A small smirk played on the side of my lips as I sensed Kat was nervous for her best friend.

"Oh that's what she said?" I asked casually. Both of them nodded and with that Carson walked into the cafeteria, staring straight into my eyes. She looked so innocent and I saw that she wasn't going to sit with us. Underneath that innocence I saw darkness lurking...and I want to find out what it is. I smirked evilly at her and Kat and Matt followed my gaze turned and I saw that Kat gestured for her to come sit with us. If she comes I will confront her but I would have fun with her. She looks from Kat and Matt to me and my smirk deepened...she looked back at Kat and shook her head before exiting the cafeteria. Dammit.

Both of them slowly turned towards me and Kat gave me a glare that made the hairs on my back raise. "Drop that smirk or I will drop it for you." She threatened. Matt chuckled before speaking. "What are you going to do Masson? You know she cannot stand you. Just leave her alone. Just prove to her that you win by just getting through this month." I glared at him. She was barking up my tree and my tree was going to have a little fun with the dog. My smirk returned and I gave them a wink. "Sorry little bro but it is on...she is messing with the wrong tree."

"Since when are you a tree?" Kat asked, narrowing her eyes and giving me a small chuckle.

"What?" I asked in an impatient voice, realising what I just said.

"You just said she is messing with the wrong tree." Her eyes bore into mine.

"You know what I mean." I snapped at her.

"What are you going to do?" Matt asked.

I smirked at him and my eyes fell upon the exit and then onto Kat's. She gave me a nervous look and drew out a breath and I can sense she knows I am up to something. "Don't you worry Matt. Watch and see." I said, my gaze still on Kat and my smirk deepened. "Your best friend is going to wish that she never met me."

"Please Masson. Just leave her alone. You have done so well these past three years." She wined impatiently. Carson should have thought about that before she made those accusations. I ignored Kat and turned to Matt. "Bro...you need to let this woman go. I saw how she kicked you. She's a horse. You can see it in her cheekbones." I pointed to her face and saw her mouth hanging completely open. Matt's laughter can be heard throughout the entire cafeteria and Kat threw me with all off her lunch. I expected she would. After a while of Matt and me laughing...she finally joined in. Our laughter died down when the bell rang, signalling for us that we had to get to class.

I got through all my classes and wondered how I was going to face Carson. What I should say and how I should approach her. She must definitely not expect it. I want to see the shock on her face as she sees me talking to her. I saw her throughout our english class and whenever she eyed me, I would smirk. I didn't do it intentionally but everytime I see that her eyes are locked with mine...I keep thinking about how she is not going to expect me talking to her. I also want to get her alone. Then she wouldn't have any excuse to run to someone else or maybe scream at the thought of me being close to her. She cannot even be five feet from me then she storms in the other direction.

I want to get her alone. I want to see how she gets nervous and the sound of her pulse going extremely fast. I would enjoy her torture. She was in for a big suprise. I was thinking that I would make that bet with her. I never lost a bet and against her...I wouldn't let her win. She doesn't know who shes's dealing with. I can get her at her locker...as soon as the bell signal for us that it was time to go home I threw my bag over my shoulder and walked down the hall to her locker...hah. She has left... I bet those two idiots told her everything. I smirked at the thought. Yeah...she must probably feel scared now. That is why she left so quickly. I chuckled at the thought of sweat running down her face and how she keeps looking back as she walks to make sure I wasn't following her. I got such pleasure from my thoughts. I walked outside towards my bike where Kelsey was waiting for me. I was still deep in thought as I slowly walked over the parking area.

Stacie Carson...you better keep running...because believe me...I won't stop chasing.
