Friendly, canning sister

VENUS

My father's ego will always remain intact.

Sometimes even towards his only daughter.

To be fair, Ignacio's demands were high and Montes’ unlimited is what he has always held dearly. As strange as it sounds, it has some sentimental value to him. But what's a father supposed to do?

Unless, of course, he has another plan in motion.

Not that my father is any less smart, but these guys? They managed to infiltrate a wedding which had top-notch security intact. I'm not sure what strings my father could pull to find me. Even if he joins hands with the Hernandez. Speaking of the Hernandez, I wonder what Renato is doing about this. Although the man only cares about himself, he needs me for his plans.

The sun is already saying goodbye, and darkness has begun to prevail. I've been locked up in this room for less than twenty-four hours, but it feels like a decade. A variety of food was brought to me earlier, but I didn’t even have any appetite to mouth anything. Would you blame me if you were in my situation?

I'm in the dark about everything. I don't know what the Garcia's have planned for me, now that my father refused to take the deal. On the other hand, I don't know my father's plans. I think I'm starting to prefer death. At‌ least, it's peaceful.

“Hey,” Amanda walks in with bags of shopping in her hands. Now what? Are we best friends?

The last I checked, we were on different sides of the war. Even if that wasn't the case, she could never betray his brother for my sake.

She places the bags on the bed next to where I've been idly sitting, with a busy mind.

“Ignacio asked me to get you something to wear. I would have gone shopping with you, but, you know,” she raises her brows in a quick motion.

Of course. She means there's no way I'm getting out of here.

Then stop being friendly to me when you know exactly what's going on.

I want to tell her that, but then I stop to think. Could she be my ticket out of here? Every syndicate family has a weakness and I'm not sure if the Garcia's weakness could be this adorable one sitting next to me. One way to find out. It doesn't hurt to try one's luck, right?

“Come on, you should get off that monstrous wedding gown and loosen a little. We're not in the fourteenth century.” That's right. She takes out all the clothes she's brought and spreads them on the bed. Why get me all these clothes and yet I'm not sure how long I have in this world? Anyway, I appreciate the gesture.

“How did you even know my size?” I probe as I ramage the bed for clothes.

“Are you kidding? Have you met me?”

Okay, I don't even want to know what that means.

This woman has a different type of style. She only chose dresses for me. But there’s not a single one that speaks decency in it.

All of them give off a sexy vibe. Is this a plan to make me seduce someone?

I try a few.

None of them cover halfway down my thighs and they hug me so tightly, revealing the figure I have. I have short dresses too, but not Amanda’s type.

She settles on a silky, short, straight red dress whose upper part is an off shoulder. So the only part of my body that's covered is from slightly above my boobs to barely halfway down my thighs.

Either this woman is crazy or she has a different agenda.

Or..is it part of their plan?

“Mission accomplished. You look so hot.”

Hot? Mission accomplished? So this was her plan all along.

“Though the dress code doesn't match your name, but that would do.” She adds.

I was supposed to have a dress that matches my name? Now I'm convinced that this woman is totally out of her mind.

“Why is your name Venus?” she asks, fixing the dress at the part where the boob hasn't fit well.

“Uhm, because my parents gave it to me.” I raise my shoulder innocently. My mother used to narrate to me how she came up with my name, but Amanda here is not exactly my best friend, so why share something like that with her? As a matter of fact, I'm not even sure why she's doing this. So I'm not going to let my guard down with her. Even if she's acting like the friendliest human in the world.

I want to use the opportunity to ask her questions, but I should be careful. If she happens to be a weak link, then I shouldn't make it so obvious that I'm trying to fetch information out of her.

“Now you look perfect," she says, after she's satisfied with my look. “Oh, your hair needs some fixing.” She remembers.

What's this again? Now I have more questions. Are they planning on taking me somewhere?

She leads me to the seat in front of the mirror and takes out a hairbrush.

“You have very soft hair,” she compliments, brushing it. She doesn't give me time to respond.

One stare at my reflection and she asks, “is there anything you want to ask me?”

I'm confused for a minute. Have I been staring at her so obviously?

“Actually, don't. I'll just give you one important piece of advice. Follow my brother's lead and you'll be fine. Don't judge him. There's something good in there.”

In where? The man I met earlier had nothing good written in his face. Except for the good looks he has, of course. I can't tell his sister that his looks made me wonder whether I was in heaven because there was definitely an angel standing before me.

Maybe a fallen one?

“Then why did he kidnap me on my wedding day?” I ask in counter to her statement.

She runs the hairbrush a few more times before she says, “he saved you from making the worst mistake. And I'm not just saying this because Renato and Ignacio have bad blood with each other.”

It takes a while before my mind registers what she actually means.

What did she just say? Where do Renato and Ignacio get their bad blood from? No one told me this. Renato himself never mentioned this in our deal. I guess going after the Garcia's was also beneficial to him, and he never mentioned it.

“Renato and Ignacio know each other? How?” I probe. As soon as the questions leave my lips, I realize she's not going to tell me. Of course, was I thinking?

“Now we're done,” she says, ignoring my question.

Smart one, this one. So now I also have to be smarter with her.

She said it before. We’re on different sides of the war.

I look at myself in the mirror and I better give credit to her. I look better than I did when I walked into this room earlier during the day.

“Now you're ready for my brother.” She smiles mysteriously. I give her the questioning glare with my eyes wide open..

Ready for who now?

And ready for what?

I don't need to ask numerous questions. I guess my facial expression says it all.

“Oh, he's coming here in a few. I just wanted you to look good,” she explains.

“Were those his orders?” I ask.

“Oh no, this was all on me. And trust me, he's going to love it,” she winks, and then disappears before I can kill her.

I have the option to change into a different wear, right? Not that my body is glued on this one. I could as well just go back to my wedding gown.

I take another look in the mirror. No way I'm going to look like this when I'm alone with Ignacio in the room. Not when he looks so hot.

What will he think?

I'm ramaging through the other lot of clothes that I hadn't tried on, trying to find a more decent wear when there's a crack at the door.

I look up in shock.

Please don't be Ignacio. Please don't be Ignacio.

My pleas are interrupted when a familiar adonis walks in.

Well, what do you know, it's him!

Our eyes lock as soon as he walks in.

He doesn't hide the fact that he's scanning me from top to bottom. But his eyes are specifically glued on my chest.. and then my boobs. I watch as his eyes move down to my thighs that have barely been covered.

That's not the strangest part.

It's how his glance makes me feel. The way he's scanning every part of me- that is half naked- with a heated gaze.

I feel my insides rumble-not in discomfort.

He's looking at me in a sexy way with those sexy eyes, like he's about to grab me into his arms.
