######Chapter 2: Mia

I am in an extremely good mood, but then when I am not. Humming loudly to myself, dancing around the bathroom as I brush my mouth.

Today is my interview. I have such a great feeling about this, hence the good mood.

Eventually during the day I went back to where I dropped my bag in the events of that night, I found the bag to my amazement.

Thank fuck for that. However, I haven't been able to get that man out of my mind. I kept imagining the different colour of eyes he could have.

I ended up with blue, but I guess I will never know.

The traffic isn't as horrific as I expected so I arrived a bit earlier which I obviously love because I am a time freak.

I like to use my time properly, I hate going late to anything, and everything. The day I go late for something it might as well be the end of the world.

I gaze at the gigantic building as I drop down from the taxi. It's about a twenty story building. If not more, the whole place is made of glass that I fear my clumsy ass just touching would break it.

Taking a deep breath, I crossed my fingers hoping that I left my clumsiness at home.

My prayers are not answered when I literally fucking stumbled into the sliding glass, that pushes my ass into the building.

My knees hurt from the tiles yet it doesn't deter me as I move as fast as lightning off the floor.

Still it's too late though as everyone's gaze burns holes into me wondering how I fell.

That is also a mystery even to me.

Ducking my head down to avoid more shame than what I feel, I rush to the front desk.

A snobby classic lady sits crossed leg, her mouth chewing gum so loudly it irritates my ear drums. Her face is one of disgust as she watches me approach her.

Kill me now.

Even though I want to eat her fucking eyes for staring at me like that, I still pull up my fake smile to play nice. At least until I get the job.

“Hi, good day. I am Mia–”

“I don't care what your name is. What do you need? A shower?” she physically cringes.

My eyes narrow at her. What a bitch.

Still smiling I pull up my sweetest voice just to irk her, “I am here for the interview.”

She rolls her eyes, blows her bubble gum then says in the most sarcastic voice ever, “13th floor.”

I scurry away quickly before I give into the temptation of bashing her head.

Storming into Pretty’s, I scream just as the bell rings above me, “I GOT THE JOB BITCH!!!!”

Theresa's reaction is one of instinct, lunging over the counter she starts to scream her ass off.

I climb onto one of the chairs, shaking my butt to no music as I dance in happiness.

We are both going crazy because it's a time where customers rarely come in.

Mid afternoons are always dry so our reaction when the bell suddenly gingles is one I can't even begin to describe.

Reece, the man who gave me his card for the interview, strolls in, his hands tucked in his suit pocket.

His reaction to my ass on the floor, while Theresa looks like someone who just got electrocuted with her hair standing in every angle.

Trying to gain any resemblance of composure, I stand upright with my left palm on the nearest table while I cross my legs.

“Are you both okay?” he asks, concern laced in his voice.

It almost tugs my heart until I remembered how cruel humans are.

“Of course. Why won't we be?” I act ignorant, dismissing him with a wave.

“You look–”

Theresa is crashing into him before I can even blink, her hair wiping his face to the side, “We are good thanks, Mr handsome.”

He steps away from her so slowly that you would barely notice the move, but of course Theresa notices.

“Why are you moving away?” she glares, squinting her eyes at him like a mother scolding her child.

“So… Reece what brought you here?” I question, trying to ease the tension growing between them.

He sighs, his body visibly relaxed at my intrusion. Turning his attention to me he says, “I just dropped by for coffee, and also to congratulate you on getting the job.”

He smiles, stretching his hand forward. I laugh, waving his hand away before launching my body into his in a tight embrace.

“Thank you so much Reece.” the sincerity in my voice is unwavering.

He slowly, but eventually wraps his arms around me, his voice rumbling through his body as he speaks. “It's a pleasure to be of help.”

“Have a nice day Mia, see you at work tomorrow.” he adds, and walks out without even buying his coffee.

Theresa's screams snapped me out of whatever thought I was about to have.

My voice is a bit annoyed as I shush her, “He tots likes you.” she beams, like she just won a million dollars.

Rolling my eyes I choose to ignore her tantrums, and try to clean the already cleaned tables.

“He doesn't. He is just being nice.” I deny, even though I suspect that he does.

“Lie. He came here just to congratulate you.” she chirps, bouncing on her feet.

“No, he came to get coffe–”

“That he never bought.” she cuts me off, eyeing me like I just killed her kids when she literally has none.

The rest of the day goes uneventfully, and before I know I am at work the next day excitement taking the best of me.

I rushed down to the elevator, noting that the witch at the front desk had arrived because her bag was there, but she wasn't. Something I am grateful for.

Stepping out of the elevator on the last floor which is the 36th floor. My office is located right beside the CEO’s office.

I immediately pause as I stare at the gold plated label with the name ‘Giovanni Anthonio’ with CEO written underneath.

I just wonder what his office looks like, I know I shouldn't go in there but I am too curious not to.

After all it's only 8:00 am barely anyone is at work, not to talk of the boss.

Nothing will happen. I mean what could possibly go wrong?

I am proven wrong when everything goes wrong as I swing the door open.

The scream leaves my mouth at the sight before me, “Oh my God!!!”
