Chapter 5

Term break is around the corner so the professors managed to gave bucks of assignments and homeworks. As usual, you see the same faces again. Monica and Dean is just busy, they haven't talked for a while now. Their relationship was now blurry.

On their last class, Monica was about to exit the room when Dean's ex girlfriend pop up and talked to her.

"I told you. Your relationship will not work." That bitch said. "Better if you find someone else"

"I'm just tired, can you please move away?"

"He's boring, and so you too. I know you were romanticizing him when we were in a relationship" her blank expression turned on. Monica is just irritated.

"It's because he doesn't deserve you. I knew at first you're going to cheat, and I caught you once" she said frankly.

"What on ear--" that bitch tried to slap him but Zach appeared and held Monica's hand. Zach is Monica's cousin.

They talked on the garden near their campus. Monica didn't urge to talk. She knew that she'll be reprimanded for causing a little scene.

"You just need to graduate Monica! Tita Lyn is worried about you! He asked me to guide you but here you're causing trouble by being stubborn! Grow up okay!" Zach said with his high tone.

"She started first! Zach, I'm just tired please. You promised me to not bother me inside this campus right? People will know my relationship with you and I hate it! I hate being treated nicely because of connections! Also don't you ever reason out my mom for looking out for me, I don't need it! You have a freedom to say no" she said.

"Okay okay calm down okay?" Tristan hugged her and caressed her hair.

"I swear I don't have family. She disregarded me as a daughter when she married another man!" Monica didn't help but punched Tristan's shoulder. She didn't cry but loneliness is just there, it pinched her heart.

Tristan is a well known student from their campus. It's because he will inherit his father business. He's rich and smart guy.

"Alright. Alright. I'll treat you an ice cream okay? Let's go to our village playground." He advised.

Monica just nodded. It's her comfort food. The ice cream stall where her dad and she comes to take ice cream after class.

Dean happened to visit Monica to take her out of dinner to relieve stress, but coincidentally, he saw her ex on her way to Monica's classroom. Someone approached him.

"Kuya, kindly compile nalang ito by tomorrow. This will be submitted kay sir"

He just nodded. When he was about to make his way through Monica. I guy held her hand and move her out from the scene.

"It's tristan! Oh my God, what's his relationship with that girl.."

Dean heard from the woman behind him.

"I won't ever go again on college of engineering! He neglected me!" The girl said.

"Are you dumb? He was never yours HAHAH"

Dean didn't expect this from Monica. He was just irritated. He just bought food for himself (takeout) and will just eat on Monica's condo.

"Thanks for the ice cream..." Monica said.

Tristan pat her head. "Don't be shy, come to me if you find difficulties okay? I'll be helping you. Are you sure you don't want to eat?"

"I'm okay."

Monica smiled before she went to the elevator. She bid good bye.

Monica reached 14th floor, she got into her unit and saw dean on the sala watching some television shows. He had his dinner, she guess, seeing those plastic wraps and styrofoam on the table. She didn't greet him but just entered on the kitchen. She cooked noodles and ate them on the table.

"You didn't eat?" Dean asked her.

"Nope."

"Then why didn't u cook?" He asked her again.

"I'm busy" she said.

That tristan is so useless. How can she send her without feeding her. He thought.

"Are you with someone? I tried to look for you after class. I think you already left." Dean.

"It's just a friend"

"Why did you come home late?"

"Are you interrogating me?"

"No, is that hard to answer?"

"No but it seems like you're questioning me. What have I done?"

"You don't really know?"

"I don't. Don't answer my question with a question"

"Nevermind."

He's looking at her, scathing and betrayed, and even though her first indignant thought is that he has no right to be offended that she's having a good time - she's not his property, and he had not experienced this before - he never really cared but now, he has this trust issues.

Dean does feel a flash of irrational guilt. What this could mean? Does she have a new guy, is it because I didn't contact her for the past few days?

She's not really sure what Dean was trying to point out. He's storming away, he didn't contact her. It'd because of busy schedule. The words he'd spat in her face are ringing in her ears. Is he mad at her? What is his right to get mad?

Monica just put away his noodles. It gets soggy. She's tired and will head to bed.

Monica laid on her bed, watched the night blank sky on her windows. It is indeed a tiring day.

It occurs to her now that it was unnecessary for them to share everything - her condo? really? They could just have hotel room in executing this game, why is she feeling that there's feelings involve here now.

Frankly, yes. Monica is a little mad because Dean was just so naiveee man but she can't just point the problem at him because she didn't try to contact him also. It's like no contract has been made, they haven't really talked.

Those years she had known him, he is not this irresponsible. He takes things on his ways. He was sweet and caring man but why, why he had changed? Is it because of her. Is it because of her bad influence?

What she asked is game. Not this, it seemed like she threw their friendship. Monica drowned on her own thoughts. She fell asleep.
