Chapter 5

"Why are you still standing there? Isn't it embarrassing enough?" Anthony looked at me coldly.

A chill emanated from him, suddenly making the temperature in the private room drop several degrees.

Not a single person in the spacious room dared to speak.

I knew Anthony hated me, despised me, but I hadn't expected him to humiliate me in front of so many people.

Refusing to give up, I choked up and said, "Anthony, I came here just to see you again..."

"But I never want to see you." Anthony's tone was devoid of emotion.

I froze on the spot, feeling a constant ringing in my ears, my insides twisted in pain, leaving me gasping for breath.

People in the room looked at me with strange glances, whispering among themselves.

"They say Anthony and his sister fell out because she caused their parents' death."

"Hah? I thought Andrea was Anthony's sister."

"It makes sense Anthony hates Kylie; after all, just think about all those things she did in high school."

Barely catching their words, my stomach started cramping again.

Anthony's expression grew even colder, and without explanation, he dragged me out of the restaurant.

The sky was overcast, and a heavy rain began to pour.

Anthony stood on the steps and forcefully shoved me away.

Already gravely ill, I couldn't withstand his push and uncontrollably fell backward.

In the moment I fell, I vaguely saw a flicker of concern in Anthony's eyes.

But before I could ponder it, I crashed into the rain.

The large raindrops painfully pelted my body, my hair, mixed with tears, stuck to my face, and my frail body appeared even more gaunt and disheveled.

From his higher position, Anthony looked down at me with a cold voice, "Are you satisfied? Do you have to turn a fine gathering into this?"

Struggling, I got up from the ground, trembling as I pulled out an envelope and handed it to Anthony.

"Anthony, I didn't mean to disturb you, I just wanted to see you one last time. I have something for you and it will definitely make you happy."

My tears kept falling, but facing Anthony, I still forced a smile.

Anthony, you must be satisfied this time.

Anthony's brows furrowed, he was silent for a moment, then raised his hand to accept my gift.
