Chapter 6

"No , absolutely no baby, do you still remember the reason why we moved away from Oklahoma?" She asked.

 "Yes I do mom but I want to live my life to the fullest , I can't keep hiding forever " Gemma replied. 

"You should live your life here in Alaska to the fullest or biggest however you want it but I don't want you to go back to Oklahoma, what if your father's killer recognized you, he might be very dangerous and he might ......"

 "See mom, if Dad's killer was as dangerous and resourceful as I thought he would be, then we would have been dead by now " she interrupted. 

"But it is still risky to go back there, please don't go" her mom pleaded.

 "No we are going, you may want to live the rest of your life hiding but I won't " Gemma said.

True to her word ,she and Tammy started preparing for the concert.

 On the day they were going, Gemma' mom told her to be careful out there and bid them goodbye. They loaded their bags inside the cab that would take them to the airport and drove off. 

Her mom stood at  the window and watched as the cab zoomed off. When the car was out of her sight, she took out her phone and dialled a number. After two rings it was connected and Gemma's mom said to the person "Gemma is ready, activate plan B"

Gemma's POV 

We arrived at the airport in Oklahoma after a six hours non stop flight from Alaska. 

We collected our baggage from the baggage reclaim and left the airport.

 We boarded a cab that took us to our hotel which we booked weeks ago. 

The interior of our hotel room was marvellous and beautiful, the hot water was also refreshing when I took my bath. 

As I was taking my bath, I thought about my mother's fears about me coming to Oklahoma. I can't help but ask ,"did I do the right thing by coming to this concert?". 

Yes I think I did, I am here to live my life and confront my traumas.

I won't hide forever, I can't like this anymore.

I came out of the bathroom and saw Tammy dancing. 

"What are you doing?" I asked. 

"Making a video of course, it is Black Moon's new music video choreography challenge" she answered. 

"Wanna join me?" she asked.

"No, I am  tired," I replied. 

"OK, should we order room service for dinner or go downstairs?" she asked.

 "Room service would be nice" I replied. 

"OK " she said and called the room service and ordered our food. 

The food arrived and we began to eat when suddenly Tammy shouted, staring at her phone. "What ?" I asked . 

"You won't believe it, my aunty Mary just accepted my request for us to visit her in New York "she exclaimed happily.

 "Us" I inquired .

"Yes come on we would have lots of fun there ,please" she pleaded.

 "No Tammy I can't, I would be returning to Alaska after the concert and that's final" I replied.

"OK , I won't force you," she said.

 I watched as she ate her food looking so disappointed but I can't go to New York with her. 

I am already at risk here and also putting her in danger so it is better I leave before her. We finished our food and went to bed. 

Tomorrow we went touring the city, visiting every tourist site there and almost eating every thing sold by the street vendors. 

We came back to hotel in the evening and ate at the hotel restaurant and went to our room. Tomorrow was the concert and I can't wait to go back home after that.

 I said earlier that I am here to confront my traumas but I can't seem to do it. 

The nightmares are now becoming constant and I can't wait to go back home. I now regret ever coming here for this dumb concert.

Authoress POV 

As Gemma and Tammy were going to their room , unbeknownst to them someone was monitoring them. 

He was at the restaurant where ate and followed them till they entered the elevator and he left.

 He left the hotel and went to a black Porsche parked by the roadside and knocked at the window. 

The window was rolled down and he said to the person.

 "Activation of plan B is ongoing and the hurdle is to depart soon".

"Only the hurdle?" asked a soft calm voice which seemed to belong to a woman.

 Yes ma only the hurdle" he answered. 

"Extraction happens immediately the hurdle departs ,no mistakes" she ordered. 

"Yes ma " he replied and the car drove away.

Gemma's POV 

"Yes"!! Tammy shouted for the hundredth time since a cab dropped us at the venue of the concert. 

" Seriously you are gonna keep doing that?" I asked. 

The concert venue was the Wembley Arena Oklahoma city. 

The main artist we came for had not performed, just the upcoming artists from the same agency were performing, their songs were good and also the choreography.

The last performer finished her song and left , after a few seconds the signature sigh of Black Moon which was a white crescent was seen in the projection. 

When the crowd saw the sign they went wild, he then came out wearing an all black outfit and the crowd went wild and crazy.

 I thought my eardrums would explode that day, the shouting and clapping continued until he started singing. 

His voice was so melodious I felt like I was floating on air. His performance was the best. After the concert we went back to our hotel room, 

Tammy could not stop talking about Black Moon performance. 

" I really wish that the concert would go on forever, '' she said . 

" Yeah me too," I replied. We then ate dinner and slept off.

Tammy was already packed the next morning when I woke up. 

"I thought you said you were going tomorrow?" I asked . 

"Yes but I want to see my cousin Rob. He lives in Washington, so I would go to New York, '' she replied.

 "OK then" I said. 

I helped her to load her baggage inside the cab that would take her to the airport. 

We bid farewell and the cab drove off. 

I went back to my room and started packing immediately.
