Daisy POV
After witnessing the argument between Giovanni and his dad. I thought to myself, “What kind of a father will point a gun at his son”.
Just then Giovanni's eyes flashed with anger as he turned towards me.
His body was tense, like he was ready to explode. His jaw was clenched, and the muscles in his neck were bulging.
I could feel the anger radiating from him, like he was a ticking time bomb ready to go off.
He came towards me with a really angry look, his eyes blazing with fury. I backed away, step by step, until I was trapped against the wall and couldn't move anymore.
I was terrified, but I tried to stay calm and not show how scared I was. He kept coming closer and closer, his eyes fixed on me like I was in big trouble.
When he got close, his hand slapped against the wall beside me, blocking my way.
His body leaned in, his chest nearly brushing mine, making my heart race with a rush of fear and anxiety.
The warmth of his breath danced across my skin, sending shivers down my spine as I felt his eyes bore into mine with an intensity that left me breathless.
“How dare you, filthy, disgusting thing, look me in the eyes when I speak with you?” he said, his voice full of hate and disgust.
“You're not even worth my time, and yet you have the nerve to look me straight in the eye, like you're equal to me” his tone was harsh, like a slap in the face leaving me stunned and scared.
“I'm so..rry” I stuttered my voice trembling as I bowed my head down in submission.
But before I could escape his gaze, he grabbed my chin up with a firm grip. His fingers digging into my skin like he was trying to hurt me.
He lifted my head up, forcing me to meet his eyes.
“Don't bother apologizing now,” he said with a cold voice. “You’ll have ample time to regret your actions, beg for mercy, when I take everything that matters from you”.
“Please don't kill my dad, I don't want any of these either. Just let us go” I begged, breaking down in tears, my voice cracking in desperation.
I fell to the floor, sobbing uncontrollably, and watched as he turned his back on me and walked away, his footsteps echoing in the silence like a death knell, leaving me feeling helpless.
As I lay there, sobbing and helpless, I couldn't help but think about how my life had spiraled out of control.
One moment I was living a sad but familiar life, and the next I was trapped in a world of crime and deceit, forced to play a dangerous game with the mafia.
I had a desperate plea to escape my past, and live a normal and happy life but instead I have landed in the hands of the notorious Marino family.
Now I am at the mercy of Giovanni, a man who seems to take pleasure in my suffering. My mind raced with thoughts of my father, my mother, and the life I once knew.
“How did I end up here? How did I become a pawn in their dangerous game? What kind of business did my father do with these dangerous men?”
I felt like I was drowning in a sea of despair, with no hope of ever finding my way back to the shore.
“I need to see my Dad, he is the only one that has the answer to my questions. I need to find the truth about the Marino family's grip on our lives.”
But then I felt trapped and confused in the huge mansion, like a small bird in a fancy cage. I didn't know my way around here and I needed someone to give me a tour of the mansion.
Luckily, I spotted Rosa who was like a friendly guide. She was the only friendly face here in a sea of unfriendly ones.
I called out to her, trying to sound as natural as possible.
“Rosa can I ask you something?” I approached her, trying to sound nonchalant.
“I'm still getting used to this place, and I was wondering if you could show me around a bit. I feel so lost! I gave her my most innocent smile, hoping she wouldn't suspect a thing.
Rosa looked at me with a hint of surprise, but then her expression softened. “Of course, dear. I’d be happy to give you a tour. But we have to be careful, the Signora is very particular about who goes where”.
Just when we were about to start the tour, a strange man in black approached Rosa and whispered into her ear and left.
“Ma’am, I'm sorry but we will have to shift this tour for another day. There is a car waiting outside and the young master has requested for your presence at his villa” Rosa said as she led me outside.
Rosa’s words dripped out like a slow-moving stream. The phrase ‘young master’ echoed through the air, heavy with an unspoken weight, like a dark and foreboding presence.
I followed Rosa,my feet moving with the reluctance of a prisoner marching to their doom.
As I entered the car, I wondered why Giovanni would request for my presence in his villa.
“Does he want to kill me there and bury me without anyone knowing? Is today the day I finally die?” My mind was filled with scary thoughts.
The driver's face was hard and unfriendly, like a stone statue. His eyes were cold, his mouth a straight line. He looked stern and scary like someone who wouldn't hesitate to hurt me.
His expression made me feel more frightened and uneasy, like I was in big trouble.
The driver's face suddenly changed from stern to scared, his eyes wide with fear as he saw the big truck ahead.
He looked terrified, his mouth open in a silent scream. He pushed the brake pedal with all his might, but it didn't seem to work.
The car headed straight for the truck, tires screeching and horns blaring. The driver's legs were frozen in one place, his face a picture of pure panic.
It was like time slowed down, and we were helpless to avoid the crash.
