Chapter 5. Identity Revealed

Elle was silent, her heart felt very happy because finally the man gave an explanation for the misunderstanding that had occurred.

Now Elle's gaze was fixed on Dicky. After the explanation earlier, Elle hoped that Dicky would no longer hate her because in this case she was the victim.

"I have caused the situation to become chaotic to this point, I apologize for that. I will give compensation," said the man while looking at Elle.

"Compensation? What kind of compensation will you give?" Dicky's jaw tightened. His gaze was so sharp.

"What kind of compensation will I give to Eleonora, it has nothing to do with you." The man said firmly and emphasized while glancing at Elle.

"Did you hear that Elle? He mentioned your name, do you still deny that you don't know him?! With everything he said and did for you, everyone also knows that he is your lover." Dicky growled.

"I don't know him!" Elle snapped loudly. "I also don't know how he could know my name and where I am right now. He must have investigated everything."

"Your best friend Celine already calls him 'brother', how can you still deny it!" Dicky replied firmly, his gaze so sharp staring at Elle.

Elle felt like she was being slandered, but she couldn't do anything. Elle turned to Celine, she hoped Celine could help by giving an explanation to everyone because the man who destroyed Elle's happiness knew Celine and Celine had also called him brother. Elle suspected that Celine and the man had an unusual relationship.

Celine was about to open her mouth to speak, but the man interrupted her by saying, "Dicky Dirk, 27 years old, a graduate of business management at the University of Alberta and now holds the position of general manager at the Dirk Group."

"See! You still say he's not your lover?! He knows about me. If not from you then who else did he find out from, damn it!" Dicky gripped Elle's arm tightly.

Elle shook her head quickly. "N-no Dicky, I don't know him, I've never spoken to him," Elle said emphatically.

While Dicky was still busy blaming Elle, the man said again, "Henry Dirk, owner of DIRK Company, a construction company that is currently collaborating with WIKA Group for a toll road construction project ...."

Hearing the man's words, Henry Dirk was immediately shocked. "Who are you?! Why do you know something that is my company's secret."

Not only Henry was shocked, Dicky and Elle were also equally shocked, making Elle freeze.

"I never talked about the company to Elle, so how did the man know? Especially about our company's new project plan which is still in the planning stage," thought Dicky.

"I am ... Galant Devereux." The man introduced his name with a flat and cold facial expression.

The name Galant Devereux was able to shut Henry and his family's mouths, their expressions all became tense, very different from Elle who didn't know anything, she just acted normal.

Galant didn't care about Dirk's family, he stepped closer to Elle. "About compensation, after you decide what you want, you can contact me anytime," said the man named Galant then he took out his business card and handed it to Elle.

Galant looked at Elle. "Sorry," he said softly. He turned to Celine, nodded his head then immediately walked away. He didn't even look at Dicky.

The atmosphere suddenly became silent. Elle was still looking at the business card in her hand, on the business card only the name "GALANT DEVEREUX" and his phone number were written, there was no other information such as work or address.

"So he just left? Didn't he say he would help you return Dirk's family's money." Herman's panicked voice broke the silence in the room.

Hearing her stepfather's question, Elle's mind was immediately confused again, she felt restless. Elle was afraid that the chaos from earlier would happen again.

Dicky who understood Elle's anxiety said, "You don't need to return the money now, you can pay it in installments, now let's go home."

"Eh, go home? Go home where?" Elle asked in surprise.

"You come home with me. We're not divorced yet. Living together under one roof is normal for married couples. Besides, you still owe me, by living together I will be able to monitor you more easily and will not give you the slightest chance to escape," said Dicky emphatically.

"Yes, you are husband and wife. You have to live together, you are a wife so you have to listen to what your husband says. So now you come home with Dicky, rest and let me take care of your mother." Herman who had heard Dicky say that there was no need to return his money was now very happy. He supported Dicky, continuously telling Elle to come back with Dicky.

Since returning to Dirk's residence. Elle's life was like a time bomb that could explode at any time and destroy her. Elle always felt uncomfortable, she always felt uneasy. Currently, Dicky and his family were quiet and did not make any trouble, but Elle was afraid that one day they would suddenly act up and hurt her and her mother.

Even though they lived in the same house, Dicky never considered Elle to exist. Every day he came home drunk at night.

While living at Dirk's residence, Elle tried to find information about Galant on the internet. Elle was really surprised by the information she got.

"Galant Devereux, a 30-year-old CEO of D'reux Group, son of a successful and famous business couple Martin Devereux and Julitte Benoit. D'reux Group is the largest international company in Toronto, Canada."

Dicky's family company, Dirk Group, is indeed a large company in Toronto, but it still cannot be compared to D'reux Group.

Knowing this, Elle thought that Dirk's family's silence was because they knew Galant's identity, which could not be underestimated.
