Chapter 3. Have To Return Everything

"Quick! Sign it immediately." Tania said with a face full of hatred.

Feeling that there was no hope anymore, with trembling hands, Elle took the pen.

When Elle was about to sign the letter, suddenly... a drag! Someone grabbed the pen that was in Elle's hand and threw it in any direction.

"D-Dicky." Elle looked at Dicky with a surprised look.

Yes, the person who snatched the pen from Elle's hand was Dicky. After throwing away the pen, Dicky grabbed Elle's hand forcing her to follow his steps out of the building to the parking area where his vehicle was parked.

"Dicky...Dicky!" Tania continued to scream for her son. Because they were ignored, Tania and Henry Dirk—Dicky's father—had no other choice but to follow Dicky.

"Don't you ever think you could get away from me this easily! Willing to divorce, huh? Then you can freely be with that man?! Don't dream, Eleonora!" With his hand still gripping Elle's hand, Dicky smiled with a smirk, his face looked very cunning under the light of lightning and the sound of thunder that suddenly boomed.

Dicky threw away Elle's hand roughly then stepped into his car. Tania and Henry, seeing Dicky about to leave, followed Dicky into the car.

Dicky's car started to drive away from the government building parking area. They left Elle alone, who was still standing still under the drizzle.

Elle could only remain silent, but somehow felt relieved when she saw them leave. He started to leave that place. Intending to go back to the hospital.

Currently Elle is at a bus stop. Waiting for public transportation to take him back to the hospital.

The cell phone in Elle's pocket vibrated for a long time. Elle immediately took out her cell phone, she saw the name Herman—her stepfather on the cell phone screen. Earlier, when he was forcibly dragged away by Dicky and his parents, it was Elle's stepfather who took over to look after her mother in the hospital. Instantly worry about her mother's condition emerged in Elle's heart.

Feeling panicked, Elle immediately shifted the green button on her cellphone screen. "H-Hello Dad, what's the matter calling me? Mom is fine, right?"

"Elle! Where are you now? Dicky and his parents are now in the hospital. They are demanding that we return the wedding dowry. You come immediately," said Elle's stepfather in a worried tone.

Elle's heart beat loudly in surprise. "I'll come right away, Dad," Elle said.

"It turns out that after leaving me they went back to the hospital," Elle muttered.

Elle immediately stopped a taxi that was passing by. Elle entered the taxi, every now and then she told the taxi driver to increase his speed so she could get to the hospital as soon as possible.

In less than twenty minutes, the taxi arrived at the hospital. Elle paid the taxi fare, then she got out of the taxi and immediately walked quickly towards her mother's inpatient room.

Elle is now in front of her mother's room. She heard a woman's voice speaking in a high tone. "From the first I felt that Eleonora was not a good woman..."

With just one listen, Elle could already tell that the owner of the sharp voice was Tania. Instantly Elle's heart trembled with fear.

"Somehow I have to face it." Elle thought.

When Elle was about to enter Aida's room, suddenly someone grabbed her. Celine—Elle's friend who also works as a doctor at the hospital where Elle works, pulled Elle away from entering the room.

"Elle, you shouldn't come in yet," Celine said with a worried face.

Elle was worried. When she was about to start talking to Celine, suddenly the door to the room opened. Tania was seen coming out of the room.

"Eleonora, you came at the right time. We came today to ask you to return the dowry and all the wedding gifts you received from us. You shouldn't mind, right?" Tina looked at Elle with wide eyes. There was a flash of hatred in his eyes.

Even though what Tania asked Elle was a question, in fact she didn't give Elle a chance to answer.

Now his view of Elle has changed. The gaze that was previously sharp and full of hatred has now turned into a look of condescension.

Elle could only remain silent. Her jaw tightened until she gritted his teeth. Currently, she was holding back all the emotions in her heart. Elle saw Dicky who was staring coldly at her. It occurred to Elle that what Tania was doing right now was Dicky's wish too.

That thought made Elle even more emotional, so that she unconsciously bit her lower lip until she felt the scent of fresh blood spread across her mouth. The pain on her lips was no match for the pain in her heart.

"I'm not a woman who asked Dicky to marry me because I knew he was out of my reach. I'm also not a money-crazed woman who married just for money.

The dowry and all the wedding gifts totaling two hundred million were not at my request. That was all Dicky insisted on giving. At that time Dicky said he did all that because he really loved me. Now his love has been destroyed and he wants to ask for everything back? It's really strange," Elle said with a bitter smile.

"Can't!" Herman's voice was heard - Elle's stepfather firmly refused. He came out of Aida's room and stepped forward in front of Tania with his face red. "Don't speak carelessly."

"How can the dowry and wedding gifts that have been given be returned? Why are you and your family so shameless! Regardless of yesterday's incident, whether they like it or not they are married. A daughter who has been married off is like water that has been poured in. Likewise the dowry and wedding gifts So can you take back the water that was poured?" Herman said while widening his eyes at Tania.

"Heh, where in the family would a daughter like her want to have her as a daughter-in-law?!" Tania smiled sarcastically.

"Basically, they are married. They are legally and religiously legal, even now their status is still husband and wife. The dowry and wedding gifts will never be returned."

Even though Herman knows about last night's events, he insists he won't budge. All the wedding money received by Elle was given to her mother and Elle knew that Herman had taken the money to pay the down payment (DP) for a house for her son.

Now that Dicky wants everything back, it's the same as Herman killing himself. So Herman will never want to. Elle felt very embarrassed seeing everyone arguing with each other, especially since they were currently in the hospital.
