“Hey men, you know that we don’t allow people to take women by their will if it’s against their choice right? You know the rules. If you want a bed warmer then go upstairs,” Lord Christ said, meanwhile I lowered my gaze and then grabbed my spectacles. I made sure to wear it well on my face before wiping the buds of sweat dripping down my forehead and neck.

For some reason, I feel nervous. I can’t explain the reason but there is this unsettling feeling forming onto the pit of my stomach.

“Whatever, you’re a fucking killjoy,” the man replied and immediately walked off as though he did not intrude my space earlier.

“See, he’s so sensitive, that fucking retard,” Lord Christ commented before he shook his head. “Our walkout king, King Rome Deveid Montezur!”

Once I heard that name, my eyes almost widened in shock although I tried my best not to show it on my face. I can’t be too obvious thinking that that man labelled as Montezur is also at the same height as my boss, Lord Christ.

“Come here, Nazi. I have something to tell you.”

They say that this man has his own weird side to himself. Having this sort of predicament, acting like you two are close and the second like strangers. We have no idea why he acts like this but all we know is that we have to be careful.

One wrong answer and I might end up a cold corpse the next morning.

I carefully walked towards his direction until I felt his hand hug my wrist and pull it towards his direction. Afterwards, I just found myself on the ground while the man was looking at me with a creepy looking smile flashed onto his face.

Every time he acts like this, it feels as though I might die in any second.

I stared right through his eyes and noticed his lips move to speak.

“What’s your name again?” he asked with the sweetest yet gruesome smile.

“N-Nazi,” I replied, stammering. “Nazi Santimoral.”

The man slowly nodded his head. It feels like he had something up his sleeve; however, I can’t seem to read it.

“Avignon,” he suddenly mumbled, which confused me. He continued to stare at me for a few more seconds until he decided to throw the paper in his hand and directed it somewhere on the floor of the studio.

“You… You’re the Avignon.” I tried my best to summon all the courage in me and said those few words. Just thinking that I am here face to face with the most gruesome man is putting my knees into its weakest state.

He slowly nodded his head while chuckling. What’s so funny?

“Once upon a time, there was a man named Rubern. He was the next successor of his clan but he decided to leave for the sake of his family. He chose a woman out of love and through that, they had a daughter. This child was labelled as the most beautiful child out of everyone they met. She was destined to become the queen of their clan yet something tragic happened.”

Lord Christ suddenly fished out a lighter from the inside of his pocket and then grabbed a stick of cigarette. He then lights the end of it and smokes the other side.

Why is it like this? The more I talk to this man, the more I realize that he isn't so scary after all. Unlike what the other employees have stated, this man isn't as insane as I thought he would be.

Although, there is still this creeping nervousness in my system.

Were those rumors true or false? I hope they are the latter.

"The mansion burned from the sudden exposure to fire, including the whole clan. And in that moment, all of their hope disappeared into nothingness,” he explained before putting out the fire from his cigarette. Afterwards, he smoked again and this time, his eyes were closed as though he was enjoying every breath of the smoke.

“Because of that tragic event, everyone thought that the great Rubern already died together with his wife and daughter. No one knows why those three came back to the clan in the first place however, everything already happened. And because of this, everyone lost hope in starting anew.” Once he finished those words, Lord Christ decided to walk towards the direction of her bottled water and then in an instant he inserted the butt of his cigarette onto the side of the plastic.

Immediately, the plastic bottle melted and the water inside started to drip down.

“Although the funny thing is, after a long time, the clan manage to reclaim their throne. The monster died a monster, and the monster lived a terrible monster. He came back twice as he was before. What everyone thought was dead all along was actually alive; the great Rubern was alive. However, his beloved died and only their daughter remained.”

Lord Christ threw the bottle onto the air and suddenly pulled out his gun from the inside. In an instant, I immediately cowered and closed my eyes thinking he’ll do the latter.

What did I do wrong?

I tried my best not to scream in fear since the man fired three shots yet there were no wounds in my body.

“Don’t worry, I won’t kill you. Just listen, Nazi.” It’s his deep voice I find it scary to disobey. His voice was in a deep baritone voice, as though one mistake can end your life.

“The day came and their clan finally reached its peak. They were able to rise to the top once again but in the end, the great Rubern still died tragically due to a sounding thunderstorm that brought people to their knees. Everyone eventually lost hope and the thought of those people giving the power to someone else other than the successor led them to a greater downfall," he added, before he gave me his cigarette. After a while, the man then takes another stick and lights up the end.

He stares at the ceiling space of the dance studio.

"Afterwards, they all still felt like they were left alone until the next generation." I lifted my head and stared at the ceiling while he smirked.

"Fear is a powerful weapon; either you use it for self gain or you use it as a shield."

And before I knew it, the man finally left the room. He left me hanging whether to understand his words literally or figuratively.

What fear is he even talking about?

Was I too obviously scared? It's not like everyone's not scared of him. And about his tale… I should probably do some research about The Great Rubern's history.

Still dumbfounded and left thinking to myself, my eyes blinked several times when I heard my phone ringing.

When I checked to look at it, it was Effryn calling. My lips automatically curled into a smile as I noticed him still on the field. He's probably still in his practice judging by his attire and appearance.

"Nazi, where are you? I'll pick you up as soon as I finish my practice," he said and I immediately shook my head. He doesn't have to go so far as to do this every time.

I showed him a narrow smile before speaking.

"Let's meet up tomorrow. I still have a lot of things to finish today. And right now I'm at the dance studio," I said, trying to find a way to make an excuse until the line suddenly cut off. It was probably because of the network.
