Chapter 3: Escaped

Marcus’s POV

I was the second most feared Mafia leader, known for my ruthlessness and mercilessness. My father was worse, but I had surpassed him in brutality. We killed anyone who dared to cross us.

Elena, watching me last night with another woman gave me joy, she was mine, and I did with her as I pleased.

When I couldn't find her in her room, I searched for her until I found her at the gym, speaking with my right-hand man, Capella. I approached them, my presence commanding fear.

"What were you two discussing?" I growled, my tone intimidating.

"Good morning Marcus" I could sense fear in her tone, just how I like it.

Capella quickly intervened, "Good morning, boss. I was just helping her with her new workout routine. Nothing important.” His being my right-hand man, doesn't mean I can't kill him if he betrays me.

I turned to leave, but not before telling him to come to my office "Carry on, and meet me in my office when you are done." And I left for my office to finish up my files. A few minutes later I heard a knock, and I knew it was him.

"Come in" he walked in and sat down, he was the only one that could be comfortable around me because we all grew up together. "I got a report that someone here is stealing my drugs and guns in my warehouse," I asked, trying to control my anger.

He maintained his emotionless expression, "No, boss. I had been focused on our drug and gun shipments in Mexico. I hadn't been paying attention to our local operations."

"I want you to review all the footage and find out who was behind this betrayal. I want those traitors brought to justice the next day."

"Yes boss, I will find out the traitors by tomorrow and bring them to the basement"

One thing I like about him, he knows how to do his fucking job well.

"Find out who dares steal from me and betrays me!" I roared hitting the table. My anger was getting out, and I could feel my veins popping out.

"Ok sir," he said as he stood up to leave.

"And, Capella, don't make me suspect you were involved. You know I wouldn't hesitate to kill you if you betray me."

He nodded, "Yes, boss," and left to carry out my orders.

"Love is a weakness," I believed, and my dad, John, had proven it by killing my mom to show me he had no weaknesses. I didn't care about Elena; I only used her when I needed her. I entered her room and saw her eating pineapple and ham pizza.

"What are you eating?" I asked, my face disgusted.

"I'm sorry, I was just craving it," she said, trying to stand up, fear evident in her eyes.

"Whatever, make chicken soup for dinner. I've invited my dad and his men over."

"Okay, Marcus, I will, once I'm done eating."

"Don't care, just get it ready by 6 PM." I left.

Sitting at the long table, I sat in the middle, with my dad on my left and Capella on my right. My dad's men sat across from us, waiting for Elena to serve us. She walked in with the chicken soup, She served me then my dad, and immediately after my dad tasted the food he spoke up.

"She can't even make a proper, tasty meal." His voice was authoritative, but you could detect a hint of age.

"I'm sorry, sir," she stammered, tears welling up.

Everyone remained silent as my dad continued. "And how dare you utter a word when I speak? How dare you!" John roared. "Marcus, is this how I trained you to treat women? You failed me, son." I felt my anger rising.

"Elena, drop those things and go upstairs. Get ready for your punishment." I whispered the last part to her. She ran upstairs without looking back.

"Father, this is my house! My rules! You don't talk to me like that!" I roared, asserting my authority.

"I see you're becoming weak," he mocked, which didn't sit well with me.

I shot one of his men sitting beside him. "Disrespect me again, Father and the next bullet will be in your head." I meant every word.

"I'm leaving," he smirked and left with his men following him.

"Tell the guards to clean this place up," I instructed Capella, who seemed unbothered by the whole ordeal.

"Yes, boss." I left, leaving him to carry out the order.

I barged into her room, with my face red with anger. "You seem to always want to get me angry," I growled, my voice low and menacing.

With each step I took towards her, she retreated.

"I'm sorry Marcus, it wasn't intentional" she sobbed trying to explain herself.

"You couldn't make a simple chicken soup I ordered!" I yelled, my fists clenched at my sides

"I wouldn’t do it again Marcus please!!" She pleaded, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Come here!!" I barked, She walked up to me shaking.

Started beating her, but she seemed not to scream or beg, she just twisted herself like a ball, like someone who was trying to protect something from being harmed.

And that even got me angrier, "You acting tough huh!" She kept quiet. "Answer me you bitch!" She still kept mute, I pushed her to the bed and had my way with her, she didn't bulge or scream. I got angry and left.

I woke up to my phone ringing, my head pounding from the heavy drinking I did last night, which was due to Elena getting me upset, I answered with a gruff "Speak." It was Capella, and I wasn't in the mood for small talk.

"Boss, we've caught the traitors. We're waiting for you in the underground basement," he said. I smirked, hung up the phone, and got dressed, heading to the basement - a place where we interrogated and tortured those who betrayed me.

Upon entering, I saw three men tied up, already beaten by Capella. They looked weak, and I hadn't even started yet. "Have they said anything?" I asked my men, all dressed in black suits.

"No, boss, they refuse to talk," they replied. I laughed, an evil laugh, as I rolled up my sleeve.

Facing the three traitors, I spoke calmly, "Why did you betray and steal from me?"

The first man spat on my face, "We work for nobody, asshole." All I saw was blood. "Don't bother," I said, my anger boiling over.

"I'll use you as an example for your two friends here, Get me a nail and hammer" I demanded which my men quickly gave me.

I put the nail on his foot while I hit the nail into his foot to the ground, a scream was heard from him.

I saw his two friends already shaking.

"Please get me pliers" Sweat could be seen dropping down from his body.

"You dare steal from me!, still dare to spit on me when I ask you a question?" He screamed as I used the pliers to move out his nails, starting from his toes to his fingers. He kept on screaming and begging.

"Now tell me, who do you work for and why did you steal from me?"

"I will talk, please stop!" He screamed.

"Ok go on, talk" I commanded.

"It was...." He didn't finish his sentence when my guard ran up to me with a phone, saying there was an emergency call.

I growled, "don't you see I'm busy" I asked the guard looking so angry.

"Sorry sir but this is an emergency," he says as he stammers. I dragged the phone from him.

"Hello, what is it!" I yelled as the caller was interrupting me."What!!!" I yelled, "What do you mean Elena escaped?" I got angry, threw the phone on the wall, and shot the three traitors.
