CHAPTER - 2

SNEHA’S POV

It's a sunday and my mom is forcing me to go shopping for my cousin's wedding.

You guessed it right, I am not a shopping person.

I am the laziest ass, when it comes to shopping.

“Mom, I will go for shopping but with ruhi” I said dialing her number.

Well I made a deal with my mom that if she let me go with Ruhi I will go or else I am not moving my lazy ass. My mom knowing me well enough agreed as she knows I am more than willing to spend my weekend lounging on my bed watching a series or doing nothing.

“Fine, as you wish” she huffed in annoyance.

“Hey Ruhi, Up for a shopping day?” I asked her silently pleading for her to say yes.

“Why?” she asked me innocently.

“Don’t you dare try to pull a prank on me or be ready to pay for it” I said in a warning tone.

“Okay I am in” she replied. I took a breath of relief.

“See you at the mall” I said and hung up on her before she changes her mind.

I quickly changed and left for the mall before my mom finds another reason to tag along.

Shopping with mom can be a pain in the ass.

I was waiting for her in the mall while looking at stuffs when someone tapped my shoulder, I turned to see my second best friend Balwant with his charming smile

"Hey, what are you doing here?", I asked him surprised.

"Shopping for my dear brother's wedding" he said mockingly. Yes my cousin and his elder brother are in love and soon going to tie the knot.

"With"I raised a bow "parents" he said pouting.

"Okay, then enjoy the company" I said smiling sweetly at him.

"Hey, aren't you waiting for Ruhi?" He asked curiously.

I nodded my head positively in response.

"Would you like to help me choose my dress?" he asked me.

"Nope" i said and saw Ruhi coming towards us.

"Hey Sneha " she chirped happily.

“Hi shikhawat” she greeted him. Well I call them ‘The Tom and Jerry’ duo as they are always at each other’s neck but can’t live without seeing each other.

"Hey” I said hugging her.

“Hey Rajput” he greeted back.

I shook my head at both of them.

“So where to?” she asked me.

“Right now I think we need to go with him, as I promised to help him with his dress” I said giving him a look that said YOU OWE ME ONE.

“What ? why did you do that?” she asked me shocked.

“He kind of offered us to help and a good treat so…” I lied to her to save my not sorry ass.

“When did I ….” I cut him off “You promised me right?” I asked him sweetly, pinching him hard so that he get the point ‘ he has to agree’.

“Yeah, right I promised her right ? I did” he said more like questioned himself.

I shook my head at his sorry ass. He looked at me nervously rubbing his back.

We all headed to the shop.

“You are mean” he whispered in my ears.

“As if you don’t knew it” I said sarcastically.

We reached the shop and started to go through different style of dress I selected a few for him and so does Ruhi.

I purposely selected the weirdest one just to tease him.

Well you see I am not an angel. I am a little devil incarnated in a beautiful lady.

We asked him to try all of them and then we will decide which one will suit him the best. He made a face but obliged as he knows he can’t win against us.

He tried them all. Some looked good some funny and he pouted at us. We laughed our ass out. He throws a childish fit which made us laugh even harder.

After we were done with his dress shopping he tried to ditch us.

But did I let him leave me to suffer her wrath alone? NO

Why should I be the only one to suffer.

Now, it was his turn to irritate us and of course being my best friend, Ruhi agreed with him.( note the sarcasm)

It was a long and tiring day. They asked me to try so many dresses to irritate me, let me tell you I am a super lazy girl when it comes to changing attires. Finally after trying so many dresses they agreed on a simple yet beautiful floor length lengha.

We did rest of shopping and ate our lunch in the restaurant. Ruhi offered me a lift as it was already dark and i have so many shopping bags I accepted her offer.

We were waiting for her car when a man approached her and said something to her. Then, she turned to me and introduced us.

“Sneha this is my eldest cousin brother Yuvraj Karan and bhaisa (brother) this is my childhood besti Sneha singh rawat.” She introduced us.

“Hello Mr. Rajput” I greeted him formally.

“Hello Sneha, you can call me Karan” he replied smiling at him.

He seems quite familiar but I couldn't point out, why?

He drove me to my home with Ruhi's guidance. I thanked them and said goodbye.

I went to bed after dinner but couldn't fell asleep due to Karan, he seems familiar as if I have met him somewhere and his car that too look familiar I stressed my memory and finally I hit it. He was the man who saved me from the goons and disappeared like thin air. Yes, yes, he is the one who saved me.

"Flash Back"

It was already 10 at night when I left the hotel, roads were deserted I was riding my bike, I took the shot cut as it was already late for my house, I knew it wasn’t safe and the best thing to do yet I took it as I really want to reach home as soon as possible. Then suddenly a car came blocking my way. I quickly pulled the break before my bike hit it. the man in the car seems drunk. They came out of the car. There were 3 - 4 man came and start encircling me like a predator does to its prey. I was terrified yet didn't let it show on my face.

"Get out of my way “I said confidentially trying to get them out of my way.

“What if we refuse to do so?” one of them asked me.

“You will face consequences” I tried threatening them.

‘What consequences?’ My mind mocked me.

‘Shut up and think something to get us out of here’ I replied shutting its sassy comments.

"What if we don't want to?"Asked a man advancing at me.

He was about to touch me “ Don’t you dare touch me” I said pushing his hand roughly away.

“Feisty much, I like it” he said and laughed.

I was about to say something mean, when a man with not so bulky yet pretty strong build up body said from behind me.

"let her go you morons or the consequences will be harsh" he said in a warning tone.

"Oh look, here comes the Romeo, to protect his Juliet" one of the goon mocked and starting laughing.

One of the goon lunge at him, what happened next not only shocked me but also the goons.

The man was lying unconscious on the road with just a punch.

‘Wow ,that was something’ I thought looking at him with my mouth wide open.

He turned to smile at me when another man lunged for him.

“Hey watch out” I said warning him.

He turned around just in time for him to duck his attack.

They lunge at him all at once. He gracefully and swiftly dogged their attack and beat them in pulp.

I was so lost that it stunned me when he said in an authorative voice .

"leave now." it send shiver down my spine, my limbs automatically acted and I started my bike and looked back once before leaving, he was still fighting or should I say beating them.

It was too dark to see anything clearly, I whispered thank you and drove off to my place. I didn't mention it to anyone and he was the same person who almost crushed me on the event day by his car.
