SIAN's POV
I was still standing, clasping the handle of the door.
My eyes were focused on the person who was sitting on his chair, but leaning on the back cupboard, searching for something, so his back was facing me...
The office was neatly arranged with a few office furnitures and they were painted to match the walls.... Very Charm!
Everything was perfect. Just perfect.
"Good Morning sir... I'm...I'm Sian Anderson...." I stepped inside letting go of the clasp of the door.
Internally I felt the fear arising through my every pulse as sweat started glistening on my forehead.
What? Wait! But it's fully air conditioned.
Have I lost my confidence after these two miserable years??
Is this some kind of a knock-back.
Or is every girl like this when it comes to an interview??
"Can you hear me Miss.Anderson.?" I heard a manly voice, breaking all my thoughts to the reality..
I rolled my eyes to the man who was now standing in front of me one or two feet apart from me... My eyes scanned him from top to bottom...
Oops!
Not probably a man... A young boy..
A boy of 18 or 19 years... It could apparently be said by the immature look of his face. I was dumfounded to find out a young boy instead of a man of 45 or 55 years old....
This is not the person I really expected to see in here.
But he has owned a good muscular body, that a boy would never own at his age...
"Hello Mr.Parker. I'm Sian Anderson." I extended my hands to him. First he looked at my hand, then his gaze shifted to my face. The sudden realization hit me..
He is the boss here. May be he was thinking how I could be in such a relaxed and a confident mood in front of the boss of Sydney the Great Construction Corporation..
But only I knew how my heart throbbed out to face this moment a few minutes ago...
I felt the discomfort take over within me as I was too nervous to face the outcome.
But I can't withdraw my hand back. It will be too embarassed to do such a thing.
Then to my utter surprise, he responded to my action without any hesitation.
Oh! Thank God! He is not rude or arrogant the way I have known most of the CEOs used to be or would be..
"Well.... Umm.... May I know the reason for your presence here Miss.Anderson..??" He asked lifting his one brow up.. I really was confused at his question.
Does he really mean it?
He sounds like he never knows the reason why I'm present here.
May be he has forgotten it... I thought.
"I--" But, before I could reply, his phone started to ring aloud. Shrinking his hazel brown eyes, he gave a look at me and excused himself as he led himself to a corner of his cabin and attended the phone call. In a flash, I saw the expressions on his face drain to a way that didn't match his young childish face...
After a minute of discussion he turned himself towards me digging the phone into his pant pocket... He focused his emotionless gaze on me, sticking both his hands deep into the pockets of his pant....
"Well.... Miss.Anderson.... I think you have come to the wrong person...." He said looking straight at me.
Wrong person?
What does he mean?
Is there another PARKER?
I was totally left confused at his words...
"I mean I'm no---..." He was about to say something, but he cut his words off.. And cleared his throat pinching the the bridge of his nose.
"Right.... It's true that you were needed here. But now.. now it's... I mean the interview is revoked..." He said as the confusion had taken its place on his face whilst trying to catch up with his own words....
What the hell?
What's going on here?
I could not recollect what he just said. Yeah! I know I was totally astonished. A ripple of anger coursed through me as to why he was saying that if they had wanted this PA before.
And why does he look so jittered?
Is it something wrong in the way I see him or is there something behind all this?
Taking me out of the reverie of my thoughts there came a knock at the door to his cabin...
"Yes... come in!!" He said gently.
I was really amazed to see these actions of this young man in front of me.... He did really behave in a gentle manner which that surprised me. He didn't seem to be so arrogant either...
Is he the CEO?
Or is there some other one?
What did he mean by wrong person?
Yet some ravelled questions were revolving around in my mind making the apprehensions grow more inside my skull...
My eyes averted towards the door way when the door was mildy open. A girl who had neatly dressed in a professional way; but too much of make up on, extremely looking like a Personal Assistant entered in.
That means a new girl is already hired.
Then why couldn't Callum inform Jenny?
The girl greeted the man standing in front of me wearing a pleasant smile on her make up spread face.
Oh no! Not the man. The boy.
"Mr.Ethan Parker.... Everyone is waiting for you in the conference hall... Only ten more minutes left for the meeting..."
Then his name is ETHAN..
ETHAN PARKER..
"Right I'm coming now.." He said compressing his lips into a thin line.
She just nodded as a reply and left.
As she left he turned himself to my side trying to compose some unreadable expressions on his young face.
"Um.. Miss:Anderson...Thank you for your time. And..." He paused for a while.
"And... Sorry for the inconvenience caused..." There was a concern in his tone that set me in a burble.
Can this really be happened?
The CEO of the "Sydney The Great Constructions" apologizes to me?
Such a humble person....
No! we cannot assume anything at first sight...
I came out of his office.
This is not the end..
If I lost this I would get another one.
Better one than this.
But Jenny? She would get sad hearing this... hmmm...
I heaved a deep sigh that I didn't even know, I was holding it inside my system so far. I hurried my steps in thought of coming out of the company so soon. I had passed only a few steps away from Mr.Ethan Parker's office when I suddenly slipped my foot.
"Ouch.."
Damn these heels!
But, luckily I could balance myself without letting me fall down the floor. The file and the other documents which were hidden between my crossed arms slid off my hands though. They were scattered laying everywhere on the floor.
"Oh gosh! My file." Immediately, I bent down and started to pick them up off the floor. I felt my ankle wrench as a wave of pain shot through me.
"Let me help you.." I felt a touch on my shoulder as I heard a girly voice. I lifted my face up to see a beautiful blonde girl help me in collecting my scattered papers and certificates off the floor.
"Oh thank you so much...... My legs just slipped..."
"I saw how you were about to fall down. Be careful when you are walking on... By the way I'm Gwen.." She told with a smile while handing me over my papers back.
"Thank you so much Gwen."
"Are you the new assistant of Mr.Parker?" She asked with curiosity.
"Nah.. It's not me.." In a flick her brows got narrowed.
"What? Then who is that?"
She questioned like she never knew the new assistant of her boss.
"Ah.. It..." I could not continue as my voice was cut off by a manly voice.
"What are you both doing here? Don't you have work at this time?" A man of 50 or 55 years of look, was standing in front of us followed by two other men who were dressed up in same black coloured dresses. By the looks of those men it could apparently be said they were his body guards.
Then here is Mr.Parker!
At long last!
"Sir w-we... " Gwen stuttered in fear as she gulped her words. I saw how her body gets shivering at a mere presence of this man in front of us. Now it was apparent that he is their boss.
Mr.Parker.
His gaze shifted to me from Gwen and now he was directly looking at me. There was a puzzled look on his face.
"You??? I have never seen you here? Are you a new employee?" He asked snapping his fingers towards me.
"Um no sir.. I was called for an interview as the Personal Assistant of Mr.Parker. But it was revoked." Talking truth does never bring you worries, sometimes it may though.
"What? Your interview was revoked?" He asked me in a professional tone. But his looks probably said that he was totally surprised by my question. After a couple of seconds he turned himself towards the girl I had been knowing for less than ten minutes. Yes Gwen.
"Miss:Houston... Send her to my office."
"Yes sir.." She simply replied with a nod.
Then, he tore himself away from us and strode hurriedly towards the elevator and disappeared out of our sight with those two body guards of his.
Why does he want me in his office?
This company is full of mystries...
"Well.. Don't be afraid right? Be confident. Mr.Parker doesn't tolerate the ones who waste their time. He is a bit tough man on that reason. But he has a good heart which can understand the each and every change of his employees. Though he is tough and rude, in the same way he is a good person. So good luck.. Stay relaxed...." Gwen said with the intention of making me confident.
*********
"Well.. Have a seat Miss;......" He, Mr.Parker paused for a while just giving me space to tell my name.
"Thank you sir.. I'm Sian Anderson" I said with a smile while placing myself on the chair against his table .
"S..ian An...der...son" He repeated my name as if he had known me since early...
But I guess, the whole world may have forgotten that terrible incident except for me... So do my name, which was connected along with Max.
Then he directed his attention back to me..
"Hmm.. Well Miss.Anderson I don't have your CV with me right now... I think you may have sent an e-mail of your bio data to my son.."
Actually it's not me. Jenny's the one who sent my CV.
But his son told me,
"It's true that you were needed here.. But now the interview is revoked.."
Then why does his father need another PA?
"Sir.. Here is my file. I have a copy of my CV here."
I handed my file over to Mr.Parker.
While he was going through it my eyes rolled over his office.
This is also another version of the office of his son. But here he is having more office furnitures than his son.
"Well.. Miss.Anderson... You haven't worked before. Right?" I was struck at his words.
Thank god! for God's sake Jenny had not edited my earlier working experiences in the CV which I had sent her ..
But actually it is for my name sake.
"Ye-Yeah sir.." I managed to stutter the reply. I hope he didn't notice it.
"And you have studied at Harvard University..?" He gave me a puzzled look.
"Yeah Sir.. Ac-Actually it was a scholarship I received from my high school.." Again I managed to stutter an answer.
He thought for a while before focusing his attention on me.
"Great Miss.Anderson. You are well qualified for this post. I'm really glad and.. and I would like to offer you this job. You are hired Miss.Anderson" He said spreading a smile over his face that made the same smile take birth in my face. But his words took me aback as sudden realization poured into my mind..
WHAT!! What did he say?
I almost chocked up with his words.
I felt my throat tighten just hearing those words.
"But sir...I---" I was cut off by him.
"Why? Do you have any problem or doubt regarding this?" He asked lifting his one brow up.
"No Sir.. I don't.." I really felt happy. But on the other hand I felt like I was floating in a dream that would never come true in my life.
A few minutes ago I was totally left in a despondency.
But now the man who is sitting in front of me tells, I am hired at his company.
Did I really get a job in Parker's Company?
Am I dreaming? Can anyone please shake me off?
He stood up off his seat pushing it back..
"Then Miss.Anderson you are hired as the Personal Assistant of my son Emrys Parker, the CEO of the 'Sydney the Great Consructions'.." He said while extending his right hand towards me.
WHAT!
EMRYS PARKER! His son!
Does he have another son?
That means Ethan's brother!
This name...? It's very familiar.
Where have I heard it?
On television? In newspapers?
Or....?
WHEREVER. Just leave it!
I too offered my hand with glad.
"Thank you very much sir.."
"Well.. You can start your work from the day after tomorrow. That means since Monday onwards. As your boss is busy right now you cannot meet him today itself. Never mind, you can meet him on Monday. Be on time." Said he with a faded smile on his huge face.
"And I will have this copy of your CV with me. And Mr.Callum Smith will send you all the details of your job, especially regarding your salary, your duties and other company rules. Right? Then best of luck Miss.Anderson."
"Thank you very much Sir."
I got out of Mr.Parker's office like a bird which got freed out of his cage... I met Callum and thanked him again for doing me such a great favour. I couldn't wait to meet Jenny as my excitement was killing me.
She would be the happiest one...
I was waiting near the elevator until it reaches up immersing in a world of deep thoughts of mine.
Ding...
The sooner elevator hit the floor, I was about to get myself into the elevator as the doors went automatically opening for me to get in. I didn't know what went through this split second. Instead of being stepped in, I was violently pulled inside when the door was fully open and all went dark in a blink of an eye.
Did I slip again?
Suddenly, I felt a tight grip on my wrist and I was pinned against the wall of the elevator forthwith. My eyes squeezed open just to realize I had been caged inside this f****** elevator. I could not turn back as my arms were twisted like hell on my back. There was a tight grip on both my arms which left me unmovable. I couldn't even breath properly...
Who the hell is this?
This can probably be a man.
Because that much strength he has put on me.
"Who are you? Just let me go...." I screamed. But no one replied. I struggled to get out of the man's grip. But it all went in vain.
"W-what do you want?" I stuttered as my face was sticking against the wall. Then suddenly I felt his breath knock against the nape of my neck making the hair at the back of my neck straighten. The sudden fear started to arise through every jittered vein in my body. I closed my eyes praying for my sake.
Oh God! Please Save me.. What's gonna be happened?
Who is this man?
"You....are....FI...RED!" Instead of being crushed by the clasp of the man, that's what I heard from behind my ears.
WHAT!
How can I be fired before I could join the job?
"Who the hell are you to take decisions on me?" I shouted with my pure anger which took birth because of his unexpected encounter and tries on ruling my life coming from nowhere...
What's the hell has got into this man's head?
"Just let go of me... Or else I----..." I shouted, but couldn't continue any more as his iron grip on my arms got tightened to the hell. His nails were digging into my flesh making a gush of anger course through my veins..
"Really? What would you do? Would you please enlighten me!!" The mocking tone in his deep husky voice didn't go unnoticed by me.
"Dammit! How dare you talk to me, you ******* *******..?"
The elevator stopped at its termination with the sound of ding making the relief engulf my shivering nody as I thought he would release me out of his tight grip at least now. But this man was still kept on bullying me much to my utter disappointment and bitterness...
"YOU CAN NEVER WORK IN THIS COMPANY.
NEVER EVER!
YOU BETTER MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS..
BECAUSE...... YOU.... A..R..E.... FIRED TODAY ITSELF....
MISS.WHATEVER...."
When the door was wide open he yelled at me with real bl**dy anger to which I was damn confused as I had no idea why he was behaving so on.... He kept on cursing me,
But I merely heard his words because of the vision in front of me.
The man whom I met a while ago at his office, was standing in front of the elevator with his hands sliding into the depth of his pockets and giving an extreme look of amusement at us...
"Mr. Pa-Parker" I stuttered silently...
He removed the pair of glasses off his eyes absorbing what he was seeing in front of his own eyes...
"DAD..." the man who was holding me from my back instantly unfastened his grip over mine....
"EMRYS.. Come to my office right now!" My eyes got widened and I left dumbfounded at Mr.Parker's statement...
EMRYS!
The man who was bullying me was
MR.EMRYS PARKER!
Oh God! How possible?
I felt his scrunitizing glare continuously fixiate on me... If a look could kill a person, I know his sharp gaze would have taken my life away from me by now... I didn't dare to have a straight look at the one who tried to hurt me a while ago... So my eyes were focussed only on Mr.Parker; the owner of the Sydney the Great Constructions, then on the ground.... I couldn't take a mere glimpse at the face of the rude man who was standing next to me clenching his fist... It was totally unnoticed by me...
Then both of them quit much to my relief..
Oh sh*t! I could have seen his face.
Why did I miss that jerk's cruel face?
