Since I arrived here. I didn’t do anything other than sitting on the bench. Those old jerks left me alone here.
I looked back and fourth to the students who come and go in different direction. Everyone looked busy. There are also comers who proceeded with the same process just like what happened to me awhile back.
But everyone seemed friendly, somehow.
Minutes had passed. I saw a girl going towards my direction. She wore her sweetest smile ever. She’s tall as me. She has white complexion, a slender, has above the shoulder hair, and she’s wearing reading glasses. She’s quite pretty as well.
“Hi! Just saw you sitting here alone. May I join you?” she vigorously said while pointing out the vacant seat beside me.
I first looked around before answering her. I have to secure if she’s really talking to me. I chuckled imaginatively with my insane reason, then smiled at her and nodded eventually.
“I knew it! How lucky am I to find someone normal just like you!” she exclaimed happily without bothering herself in minimizing her voice. I winced with the thought that I found someone as loud as I am. What a walking megaphone!
I looked at her with a curious face.
“What do you mean by that?” I asked curiously while frowning at her.
She turned towards me as she pushed the bridge of her reading glasses using her index finger. Doing that made her expression to become serious and sincere.
“I’ve been asking others if ever they would give me permission to sit beside them, but instead of giving me the space, pushing me away is their option,” she replied sadly. “But that’s not a big deal to me,” she, then added and smiled as if nothing happened.
I nodded hesitantly as I put back my former attention in everyone. Still, they were busy. Everyone’s busy right to this moment. I was taken aback when she suddenly hanged her right hand in front of me while smiling ginuinely. I looked at her hand and then back to her eyes.
“By the way, I am Myrtle Fyere. First born child of the Fyere’s Clan,” she introduced.
In order to prevent her from embarrassing herself. I immediately held her whom I sincerely accepted. “Tina Salamanca,” I replied shortly.
“Are you a novice too?” she asked in a short period of time after I introduced myself awhile ago.
Seriously? She’s better to become an investigator rather than a student. I hate too much interrogations.
I looked at her straightly and nodded. “I am.”
“Really? Gosh! We are in common!” she said happily in top of her lungs. I think she’s crazier than me.
I am not against with her attitude. Actually, I am so thankful that I found someone like her. She had already said it that we have in common. And I have just realized that I should have one. At least one friend.
After spending so much time talking on our spot. A loud megaphone suddenly sounded. We heard the host’s voice announcing that the second part of the test has come.
“Welcome my dear Maharlikans! Welcome to Maharlika Academy, a school for every Maharlikans that possesses extraordinary powers. We are very pleased to finally see you! And now, for the last test. You have to surpass the three stages for you to become a real student. Without further adu! Lets’s get started!” the host exclaimed out of his chest.
All of us gathered in the ground area. The deafening noise is further amplified by the sounding of the trumpet which is signaling us that the test has already been started.
“Tina! Don’t leave me!” Myrtle shouted.
We have been parted ways because of the obstreperous flow of the students who wants to enter the portal. And honestly, I have forgotten that she was with me. I winced unbelievably. I was preoccupied with what’s going on.
The noise suddenly minimized for a minutes when we all saw a barrier covering as all. The purple mist created a dome. Then, I also saw the appearance of the portal a meter away from all of us. And we suddenly headed there. I had no choice because I was at the middle of the flow of this bunch of people.
I couldn’t find Myrtle along the way. Escaping the flow is so damn hard. I couldn’t even halt myself from moving. Everyone’s pushing us all towards that portal. As I tried to calm myself, I suddenly realized that this is not new to me. This test is not new to me.
When the blue light of the portal engulfed us. I could almost close my eyes because of its intense light. I couldn’t stand it. And when I heard nothing but a deafening silence. I decided to open up my vision and witnessed where I am.
It was dark in here. I was sorrounded by huge trees. I couldn’t even see a single ray of light.
I stood up firmly and became vigilant. I could hear crackles around me and I could also feel the presence that someone is just around me.
“What a pathetic one?” she said that disappointedly.
My ears throbbed upon hearing what she said. She was right by the way. Bitchy mode, alert on!
When I turned around. I saw her smiling idiotly while leaning on the tree trunk. I did not see anything strange about her except for her disgusting attitude.
“Who are you?” I asked straightforwardly. She just raised her eyebrow.
A couple of seconds passed when she managed to curl up her face. Seemingly suppressing her own laughter.
“Oh! You are not just a pathetic but an ignorant too? Haha!” she said while laughing as if it benefits her on disgracing my personality without knowing who really I am.
‘She’s the one more pathetic than I am.’
“I would not bother to ask if I know you but letting me analyze your attitude makes sense at all,” I grinned insultingly.
Her eyebrows rose which gave me nothing but disgust. I am not afraid of her, not a chance.
“No matter what you say is not important to me. Killing you in the game is my goal not your words,” she replied angrily as if I did a lot of mistakes to her.
“What?” I acted like I was startled.
I immediately dodged her attack when she aimed it towards my direction. I rapidly jumped on the nearest tree branch just to dodge her first attack. My gosh! What the hell am I doing here?
“Nice try, loser,” she grinned while aiming again. Imagine, I was just avoiding her attacks efforlessly. I couldn’t determine what ability she’s possessing because she seemed to hide it from me.
Her attacks was so slow the reason why I was so effortless on dodging all of it. I could read all her moves and it’s so easy for me to turn her down on her knees but I chose not to. Let’s just say that I am adding flame to our fight, if this is called fight.
‘As if she deserve to witness my ability? Nah!’
“Will you just let me kill you? Come on bitch!” I could see the eagerness in her eyes.
I inhaled, “You’re weak,” I mumbled that made her raise her brows once again.
“What!?” she hissed angrily. I laughed.
“You’re weak,” I repeated but this time, I added my grin.
I saw how she clenched her fist in rage. Her eyes almost fired up. “And you really repeated!? You damn!” she shouted angrily at me and attacked me with her full force.
She went on her obstreperous rage. It just when I witnessed what she was possessing. I saw it. I saw her thread-like whip that hits all over the place which can cut easily a single tree. That was sharp.
“You asked for it. I just answered you,” I grinned while dodging her attacks. She’s not focused becasue her anger is heading her off. How pathetic, right?
“You can’t stand against me,” I leaned on the tree branch I was standing on after I dodged her and jumped up here.
“Are you sure?” I raised my eyebrow as she changed her tone. I looked at her pathetically.
She was on the ground. She lifted the thin thread that was in her palm. She smiled as if she won in a way she certainly I did not notice but I surely did. Yes! She managed to capture my left foot using her thread. Now I know where that smile she was getting to. I know what ability she has. Quite interesting but still, it does not suffice me.
“Puppeteer,” I whispered as her eyes widen in shock.
There are reasons why her ability does not work for me. And that secret is just for me. I was thankful for the amulet Grandma gave. She might know that this would happen, so she made a way to hide my identity. And I’m quite enjoying hide and seek wannabe.
“H—how did you know?” she stammered while startling. A grin slowly drew to my lips.
“You have just wasted your time fighting with me. Get lost bitch!” I harshly sneered.
I jumped down on the ground. She seemed to have been caught like a criminal. Who’s pathetic now?
“Surviving all throughout the test is enough, right?” I said that made her gasp. I can see the shock and amazement on her faec.
“Then, I should go,” I added and headed.
She nodded, but before leaving her. I looked at her again.
“Don’t you ever block my way ever again or you’ll die,” I threatened her that made her shook her head hesitantly.
