The next day was like usual since they got married. He woke up early to order some work in the office before they left for Palawan in the afternoon of the same day.
Maverick wasn't on her side when she woke up like usual. It's always been like that scene every morning since they got together and that's a favor for her. She have all the time to lurk on their bathroom and walking closet without worrying that he might barge in to use the facility.
It took her almost half an hour taking a bath and coming out of their room she caught up with the husband who was in the kitchen, with Connor while having breakfast.
Huh! They even waited for her. She mentally said to herself.
Right, Whom am I to expected, anyway? I'm just a wife in papers. She said more to herself.
"Good morning, Emilia!" Connor greeted her, he even frowned as he smiled. Must be his hangover.
She smiled back and nodded. "Good morning," he said. "And please, it's just Gian," he said.
"Sure," he replied.
She turned to Maverick as she sat beside him. He immediately raised his eyebrow at her, he immediately retaliated with a smirk.
Early in the morning, it will bite me again. He said to himself again.
"As I was saying, we will leave after lunch. You can stay if you can't still drive," Maverick told Connor, but the latter shrugged.
"Nah. I'll leave after breakfast. I'll just take a shower and then I'll feel fine," she replied.
"Okay. If that's what you want," Maverick said.
"Of course, I saw Via the other day. He's back." She heard Connor said.
Her brow instantly arched out of curiosity.
Who is your Via? She asked herself.
"Where?" Maverick asked. He even lowered the cutlery he was holding and seriously waited for his friend's answer. He couldn't help but raise an eyebrow.
Connor shrugged. "Gavin's hospital. It's a doctor," he answered.
"Does Grant know about it already?" Maverick asked and the latter shook his head.
"Probably not. You know that, I'm sure he'll take action right away if he knows," he replied.
Their conversation went on and she didn't bother to include herself there. She just sat at her seat and ate her breakfast. When he finished breakfast, he immediately went back to their room to pack.
They will only be in Palawan for five days, so he will only bring a small double bag and most of it will be a swimsuit. There are also beach dresses and shorts and shirts, but the swimsuit is really more because they go to the beach.
"Are you done?" Maverick asked. He was leaning against the door jamb of their room and the small duple bag he was also carrying was slung over his shoulder.
She nodded. "Yeah," he replied shortly before approaching their bed to pick up his bag.
"Let's go. The chopper is waiting at the top," he said before turning his back and leaving.
He was irritated.
Tss. Don't even help me carry a bag! She murmured to herself.
Before finally leaving, he checked to see if they had unplugged all the appliances in the room, as well as when he left the living room.
"What are you doing?" Maverick asked her. He was already standing near the door and was just waiting for them to leave.
"What do you think I'm doing?" she asked, rolling her eyes as she unplugged the air condition.
"You don't have to do that. The cleaner will visit here tomorrow, they will take care of that," he said.
She looked at it immediately. "It's still tomorrow, Maverick. What if one of the appliances here overheats and we catch fire?" she said.
"Why do you think that way? The whole house has a sprinkler, so if it happens in a row, even before it grows, the fire will be extinguished immediately," he replied.
"And what if something explodes? Can that sprinkler stop the explosion?" she groaned.
Resigning, Maverick sighed and opened their fuse box and shut it down. She was shocked at what it did.
"What the hell, Maverick ?! The other appliances haven't been turned off yet, do you want to break the appliances?" she asked.
Maverick rolled his eyes. "Please, Emilia. Enough with our appliances, we can buy new ones if anything breaks," he said. "Now, let's go. Earlier the chopper was waiting at the top," he added.
She didn't react anymore and just followed him. She was still shaking her head as she thought of the appliances that could be damaged by what he did.
"Give me the cleaners' number. I'll call them," she said when they got on the elevator.
"What now?" he asked her an irritated question.
"We have food stocks in the fridge. I'll just let them get it instead of just spoiling it inside the fridge," she replied.
He didn't debate with her anymore and just let her do what she wanted to do. He gave her their cleaner's number and she called them immediately. He just told me that if it was possible that day, it would be cleaned and just take home the contents of their refrigerator that could be damaged.
"What, are you done?" Maverick asked her. Their belongings are already in the chopper and he is the only one waiting.
He nodded and walked out to the rooftop where the chopper that would take them to Palawan landed. She was amazed at first that Maverick was allowed to make the chopper on their building's rooftop but upon knowing it was him who owns the whole building, she chose to shut her mouth instead.
"Seatbelt, Emilia," he commanded as he sat down and saw that he hadn't yet taken the seatbelt to fasten.
He immediately obeyed and did not say another word. And when they arrived at the resort they will be staying in Palawan, he quickly changed his clothes to go around. She changed into denim shorts and halter top. He didn't ask if Maverick wanted to join the round, he just went out and left someone talking on the phone.
