Chapter 7

Lillian

I couldn't believe what was happening. I was in the bathroom, dealing with unexpected menstrual cramps. I usually get these cramps before my period, but this time, I ignored the signs, attributing the pain to hunger because I hadn't eaten a good breakfast.

I was panicking because I had stained my underwear and was trying to clean it with soap and water.

I wrapped a towel around my body and started pacing, feeling the heavy flow. I knew I couldn't ask Helena for the bathroom earlier before Mr. Kent returned; she had been giving me dirty looks.

My only hope was rushing home but now that was out of the option.

I spend the next thirty minutes thinking of what to do. My underwear was bloodied and I just finished washing it. Thankfully there are no noticeable stains on my dress.

Just as I was pacing, I felt a warm liquid trail down my thighs.

I looked down, I had to cover my mouth to stifle my sob. I usually have a heavy flow, and at this rate, I'll get the white towel stained, too.

I did not know what to do, I can't possibly tell Mr Kent about this. At this rate that was my only option.

Just as I was cleaning myself up for the hundredth time, there was an impatient banging on the door.

" Mrs Ace, come out right now."

I panicked. I almost slipped as I hurried to the bathroom door. " Give me five more minutes!" I yelled.

"Are you crazy, you've spent 45 minutes doing god knows what! "

I bit down on my lips; even if I stayed for a hundred hours, there was no solving this issue. " I'm sorry, I just need a little more time."

" If you don't come out in the next thirty seconds, I'll drag you out myself."

I gasped. " You wouldn't dare!"

He snorted. " Try me, your time is counting."

I contemplated using tissue, but my underwear was wet, and it would be too nasty and itchy. Why do I have to be so unlucky?

I felt like crying. My only option was telling him and I was so not doing that.

I was about to grab my clothes from the hangar when I slipped on the wet tile and landed on my butt. The scream that escaped my lips was loud enough to cause an earthquake.

The next second, the door flew open, and my boss came into view. I then realised I had left the door unlocked.

His eyes found me sitting on the floor in an awkward position with just a towel wrapped around me.

A normal gentleman would cover his eyes or at least turn away but this creature was the complete opposite. His eyes roamed the bathroom and was back on me again.

My face flushed, I think I'd die from embarrassment." Mr Kent !....privacy !"

He didn't even move a muscle, his face was devoid of every emotion like he was used to seeing women half naked ." Why did you scream ?"

I opened my mouth then shut it again." Can't you see I'm on the floor?"

He frowned." What have you been in here for the past 45 minutes?"

I paused not knowing what to tell him. Did he think I was making a sandwich?

" Mrs Ace, if you're not going to tell me then please put on your clothes and be out in the next thirty seconds."

" I can't " my voice was a low whisper.

" Why?"

I swallowed." Umm, I've just discovered that I'm on my period." I had to hold my breath waiting for his answer.

"Your period? What's that ?"

I looked up to find a confused-looking being. He can't be serious!
