Birthday party

Chapter 4

"I told you already a while ago, ah," I said as he turned and started to walk. “Devi!” I shouted his name and quickly followed Aunt turned to me, frowning again. "What is it, sweetheart?" she asked me.

"I just remembered, Aunt Mommy. Will Dad have a grand entrance with his family again?" I asked her. That's the scene every time dad celebrates his birthday.

"Including you, Novy."

"Auntie, pass," I said quickly and she took a deep breath. He came closer to me and caressed my face.

"Okay, I'll explain to my brother. I know that you are really forced to be with your siblings. Especially your stepmom. Come on, don't come with me, son. But you will still attend your daddy's birthday party, okay?" he reminded.

"Yes aunt." He even kissed me on the cheek then he said Devi.

"Follow me, Novy!" it still screams at me "Yes!" I fired back then I went in the other direction. I'm already familiar with dad's mansion even though I rarely go there.

I arrived at the garden. They have a green house where there are many vases and many flowers. I went inside and sat on the bench.

I looked at a rose, it's not dark in this place because there are lights so I can clearly see the beauty of the flowers. This is one of what dad's wife likes. That's why they had it.

I plucked a stem of a rose but I was injured so that I was left brittle. He's so beautiful!

"Be careful of the things you touch or no matter how good something is don't get off its good quality. Sometimes they are really dangerous. Their beauty is deceptive," suddenly an old man spoke. I turned to him and the moon shone on his face first.

Even though he is old, his face still shows the handsome man he was when he was young. He is tall and has a big body. When I saw her smile, I felt something—I mean not literally that there is something different, but because her smile is genuine. He reminded me of the handsome man I met at the hotel. There is also a resemblance to him.

"This is just a flower. That's some serious meaning!” I laughed so hard and he was caught by my sudden laugh.

He walked closer to me and put both of his hands in his pants pockets.

And if we talk about a good characteristic that even if it is dangerous we still can't avoid not being admired by it and even if it is deceptive we still can do nothing.

"This beautiful rose also has a meaning, Sir. This beauty cold also be her resistance to those who want to hurt her. Look, because she's so beautiful that someone can hold her but there's also something hidden in her that can also hurt someone who wants to take advantage of her. Despite her beauty she has thorns, she's like a person with a unique attitude and personality," I said at length.

According to what is known in this matter. I also love figurative language.

"Yes, you're right about that. Anyway, what are you doing here?" he asked.

"I just want to breathe a fresh air, Sir," I answered and he smiled.

"Oh, that's my line when I attend the birthday of my friend's daughter," he said with amusement.

"Do you like attending birthday parties like this? Aren't you bored at the party? For me it's also exhausting. I prefer to sleep," I said with a frown.

"If you have a lot of friends and you're afraid of losing them, you need to be with them. Don't disappoint them either," he said and I nodded.

"Ah, that's it," I uttered.

"Come on, let's get inside and enjoy the birthday party," he invited me. I stared at his palm and he smiled at me. I accepted that and he still has a strong body because he was able to support me to stand.

"Thank you, sir."

""Grandpa? Are you dating someone younger than you?” My lips parted in shock. What does he say? His Grandpa is dating me? What kind of insanity is he talking about?

"What kind of question is that, Grandson? You're kidding me, right? What am I dating this beautiful girl? I prefer to be her husband," the old man said and I scratched my eyebrows. I was immediately reprimanded. Oh, my gosh.

"W-What? Grandpa...”

My heartbeat skipped that fast when I saw the man who helped me to avoid my fear of the dark, my nyctophobia. The guy who forbade me to wear a sexy dress and the one who let me borrow his pet cat. The handsome guy I was with got stuck inside the elevator.

Is he this old man's grandson? That's why this looks familiar to me because they look alike. The guy looked at me but I thought he'd be surprised to see me too but his face remained emotionless and still looks like he's composing. I didn't see any reaction at all. I think he is now like this. As a matter of fact, I never saw him smile. He's just serious and kinda cold too.

"Who are you? Are you dating my grandfather?” My jaw almost dropped in shock.

"What now?" I asked him back, bored, and that's when I saw the change in his emotions.

"Grandpa, are you serious?" he asked his grandfather and he just laughed loudly at him.

"We're just talking, grandson. what are you What kind of solitude is that?” For the ninth time, I was surprised again because of the word that came out of the old man's mouth.

"You know how to speak that language, sir?" I asked stunned.

"Yes, how about you?" he asked again.

"Sir, we are from the same country," I said "Wow, that's great! May I know your name, hija? And why are you here? What are you related to Mr. Bongo?” He asked a lot of questions, as if he was interested in knowing about me.

"Ah, well. It's my daddy's birthday," I answered as if bored. If it's possible, don't answer anymore, eh. His eyes widened. He was shocked?

"Is Nevo Carlos Bongon your father? Are you his first born and only daughter?” he asked again.

"Unfortunately yes," I replied and shrugged my shoulder.

"Huh? Unfortunately?” one asked in confusion.

"So, you must be Novy Marie V. Bongon? Novyann’s niece?” Oh, he's just a question.

"Do you know my aunt? Ay, you probably know me cuz you're here on my father's birthday but how did you know my name?" I asked him in confusion "The destiny, He agrees with me and this is how we met. Come with us to the party and you'll know us there. Yeah, grandpa? Do you know the girl we are with now?” He asked his grandson. It's looking at me intently as if there's something strange about me.

"Are you an international tennis player? The champion of olympic games?” he asked. does he know me? But if he really knows me, he won't ask about that. What exactly?

"How did you know that?"

"Just answer me," he promised firmly.

"What is it to you?" I promised and my eyeballs rolled again. Push.

"Come on, Ms. Novy,” his Grandpa kindly invited me. I just followed and noticed that he stopped. He was still looking at us. Does he have no intention of following and will he just leave it where he is? "Grandpa? Are you just there? Won't you go inside with us?” he asked her angrily.

"I'm coming next, Grandpa," he replied and I felt him walking behind us.

We were even mistaken for dating his grandfather. Do I look like an old man? What kind of brain does he have? It's not like I'm looking at his Grandpa, huh? His grandfather is handsome because he also looks like him.

I didn't look around too much because even though the decoration was still different, I couldn't appreciate it even though it was beautiful. Because it's boring and I'll only see people who annoy me.

My face has no facial expression and some guests are looking at us. Maybe they also know the two men with me. Until we stopped at the table where Dad and his wife were. I looked away but I managed to roll my eyes and the man saw it.

"What?" I asked grumpily because he was really staring at me. He didn't answer and just closed his mouth tightly. I rolled my eyes again.

"My daughter, Novy," my father said and he stood up from his seat. I just looked at him without emotion and he came to hug me. He kissed my forehead. I know that he only does this because he has a lot of visitors. He doesn't want to ruin his reputation. Push.

"Happy birthday, Dad. I don't have a gift for you, eh. It's like Aunt Mommy just ambushed me and I wasn't able to prepare. I'm sorry.” Of course, my apologizing to him was not sincere, and besides, I didn't really prepare anything, eh. I don't want to make an effort because even he who is my daddy has nothing to make an effort.

"That's okay, Novy. What matters is that you came," he said and I turned to my stepmom who immediately raised her plastic eyebrows. I also raised an eyebrow at him, he thought he was the only one good at that.

He also stood up and when he was about to approach me to do plastic surgery, I distanced myself but I didn't mean to bump into the man from behind.

I immediately felt his arm around my waist to keep me from losing my balance. My back even pressed against his hard chest. My heart beats so fast instantly. His familiar manly perfume stung my nose.

"Be careful, tss," he promised emphatically as if he was still blaming me. I shook his hand.

"Novy," my stepmom uttered my name.

"Hi, Daddy's wife," I greeted her only to meet her thin eyebrows. Because I never called her Mommy or aunty. Even Mrs. Bongon I don't call him that. Just daddy's wife. Geraldine Flint-Bongon, that's her name. Her business? I didn't find out more, because it wasn't important.

I just pulled my short hair and then I passed him. "No manners," he whispered softly. I shrugged my shoulder and just took a drink. She's a Filipina too.

I was going to look at him but our eyes only met a handsome man I met in the elevator. Why can he look at me like that? I made him suffer.

Dad was talking to the old man and soon they were sitting down.

My two brothers wanted to talk to me earlier but I ignored them. My eyes searched for Aunt Mommy because she didn't seem to want to come to our table anymore. Eh, there's still a vacancy here, ah. I don't want to be with Dad's family.

But I was still shocked when the two men moved to the other table. I don't want to pay attention to that anymore because what do I care about them?

"Brother, Novy is ours first." It was Aunt Mommy's voice so I immediately stood up.

I even kissed Dad's cheek, since he was next to me. It's like his reputation has gotten even better that my father and I have a good relationship. "I'm going to have a table with Aunt, Dad first. I don't want to steal the attention of your visitors. Your wife's feelings might be hurt because of me, Dad," I politely promised.

"Novy," Daddy said my name emphatically. I just left and my eyes caught Mommy's place with her family. Mom even gave me trouble when she saw me. I really inherited from him that he likes to talk and is always grumpy.

There is one more table between Dad and his family. I hesitated to sit down because the two were there again.

"Have a seat," Aunt said to me.

Devillaine gently patted the chair next to him. It's a round table, it's just that my chair is closer to the man. It didn't even look up at me. Since some food is already served, he starts eating. He took one bite after another as if he had just eaten a delicious dish, ha.

My jaw dropped when I saw the food on the table. Purely spicy. I looked at Dad absentmindedly. I know that his witch wife meant the food that was served now.

I'm allergic to chili and I can't eat any spicy food. I can't even eat spicy food even though I don't have an allergy.

But I brought the rice closer to me. "Aunt Mommy, can you get some tomato sauce? I'm hungry and the food is not good I think," I said and waited for the reaction of the man next to me but there was none. No interest, psh.

Aunt looked at our food and she nodded. Before he looked around. "Uhm... Novy."

I felt the bridge of my nose. That's why the food was served right away because there was no server. Gosh, what kind of birthday party is this?

"I'll go get that from their kitchen, Mommy," I volunteered and before Aunt could speak, I immediately stood up.

"I'll come with you, coz," said my cousin, but before he could stand up, the old man spoke, whose name I still don't know.

"Why don't you come with Ms. Novy, grandpa?” he asked.

"Grandpa?" He still seems shocked.

"Come with her to get tomato sauce," his grandfather added. Why would he bring his grandson with me? That's right. It's embarrassing and bothering me.
