Chapter 6

Valentina stopped in front of Aslan's mansion, it was immense, to her it looked more like a castle than a house, truly worthy of the owner of a technology empire. Her legs aching from walking around the condominium, she made her way along the sidewalk to the imposing, enormous solid wood door, and rang the bell, hoping to be answered. The huge door opened and a woman in her sixties appeared with a shy smile on her face, wearing her housekeeper's uniform.

- Valentina, go in the back door, the staff don't come in here. - The woman whispered gently, then closed the door before Valentina could say anything. She walked all the way around the block, as the staff entrance was at the back of the house, and there was no front door.

Sweaty, tired and out of breath from walking, Valentina had finally reached the infamous staff entrance, where she stood in front of a solid wooden door much smaller than the one at the front.

"Stop being silly, Valentina. Of course they wouldn't put a gigantic door at the staff entrance." Valentina thought as she approached the door to knock, when the door was opened by the housekeeper, allowing her to enter.

- Hi, good morning! - Valentina greeted her with her hands clasped in front of her, and the door closed behind her.

- Good morning, move quickly, we don't have time for this now. I need to give you all the information about Philip's day before Aslan returns from his morning run. - The housekeeper said quickly and firmly, leaving Valentina dazed with so much information. - In the morning, Philip goes to school and at 2 p.m. he has piano lessons with a private teacher. At noon sharp lunch is served, at 3pm an afternoon snack, and at 7pm dinner is served.

- Thank you for the information! - Valentina said, still a little dizzy from all the information she had been given.

- Come on, I'll show you around. - The housekeeper said, pulling her by the left arm and pushing open a double door that led into the kitchen, Valentina could hear voices and a cacophony characteristic of kitchens, even though she was outside the room. - Hurry up!

- This is where the food for the house is made, we have Jorge, the chef and his soulchef, Augusto, the helpers, Melissa and Sarina and the nutritionist Olga who comes here once a week. - She said, hurrying through the room. Valentina had to walk faster to catch up with her "guide", as she had stayed behind to observe how the furniture and utensils were arranged in the kitchen. Valentina was sure she could fit an apartment of her own inside her boss's kitchen. It was all so unreal. - This is the scullery, you may never and under no circumstances be in this room when any meal is taking place.

Ella didn't give Valentina time to breathe, heading for the corridor full of portraits of both Aslan and Felipe.

"Where's Felipe's mother?" Valentina thought as she put the question aside.

- This is the leisure room and entrance to the mansion. Philip can watch television for 30 minutes a day. I hope you can control the young master's schedule. - The housekeeper said, stopping in the middle of the room, and turned back to see Valentina coming out of the corridor.

"This woman doesn't walk, she flies!" Valentina thought as she walked towards the housekeeper. It was only then that she realized she didn't know the housekeeper's name; it was true that they had spoken on the phone, but she hadn't paid any attention to her name. Ella and Valentina heard the jingling of the key as it was picked up on the other side of the huge door.

Not knowing what to do, Valentina stared at the door trying to figure out who would be entering the all-powerful CEO's house and what was her surprise but the arrogant and rude Aslan himself walking through the door, however, he looked different, with sweat dripping all over his muscular chest that was on display for everyone to see how much he worked out, wearing baggy sweatpants giving him an extra charm. She didn't know what to do except, of course, enjoy that arrogant, walking piece of mischief. He entered the house with a calm expression, not at all like the man who had interviewed her.

Valentina was practically drooling at the sight of her boss, who, thanks to his own devices, hadn't noticed her standing there watching him, and she looked down, afraid that Aslan would see her staring at him.

Aslan looked up to see his housekeeper with Valentina, his son's new nanny, and his face changed completely, from calm to rude and angry. He couldn't understand what was wrong that every time he looked at his son's nanny, he felt something strange, something he couldn't quite put his finger on.

- Good morning! - Aslan said dryly, walking straight past them without waiting for an answer, which left Valentina stunned by her boss's politeness.

"What's beautiful is thick and uneducated!" Valentina thought, indignant at the situation that had just arisen. "How can a CEO, the owner of the company, treat his employees like this?" She thought, following the housekeeper who was already far away from where Valentina was standing.

Aslan went into his room, taking off his clothes hastily, then went into the bathroom and turned on the shower to take a shower, he needed to cool down, he stood under the shower for a few minutes thinking about whether or not it had been the right decision to hire Valentina to babysit his son. There was no turning back now, he had to wait and see if she made any serious mistakes that would justify her dismissal, but even so, he would give Valentina a chance to demonstrate how professional she was.

"I hope Felipe doesn't like her, then I'll have a reason to fire her, or rather he'll make her quit," Aslan thought as he turned off the shower and got dressed to start his day. He knew his son well, even though he was distant and somewhat cold, he knew every reason for every nanny who quit. "Your son is a pest!" "No one can handle your son!" These were some of the phrases Aslan had heard from previous babysitters who had "by chance of fate" quit. Aslan smiled as he remembered how terrified they had been. He knew it was tragic, but it was still a bit funny.
