CHAPTER 3_CHAPTER THREE

Amira’s POV

hey sis” Richard greeted “how was the interview” I didn’t have the strength to bandy words with him so I just gave him a thumbs up “what happened sis cat got your tongue?” he can talk all he wants am going up stairs, I left and went to my room and locked myself inside, what a day Amira now you really have to look for another job, look what your tongue got you into, I laid down flat on my bed staring at the ceiling. who could be knocking on my door, I stood up to go get the door and it was lily

“ sis what’s up how did the interview go”

“it was fine” I said trying to sound ok

“what about the boss I heard he is handsome” this is not a conversation I would love to have now sis

“yeah he’s really handsome and cute”

“You must have enjoyed his company” lily said, what is she talking about enjoyed whose company, I literally died of heart attack on seeing the boss, to answer her question I only smiled and nodded my head if only she knew

“have you…………met him in person?” I asked

“met who, the boss? no I haven’t seen him except pictures, although I heard he’s a very reserved person and also very cold but that won’t be a problem cos Carlo say’s he’s a nice man ” lily said,she even knows him better than I do “so when did he say you can start?”

“I don’t know” lily looked at me with one eye closed “he didn’t tell me anything he just asked me to leave…………….. and besides I wasn’t the only one there for the interview” I said, looking at her expression she wasn’t expecting what I just said

“so how did you do?” what sort of a question is she asking

“I did what I could do…………… my best” I said and shrugged my shoulder

“don’t worry sis you’re going to get the job and even if you don’t get it we’ll try another way ok” lily said assuring me that everything will be fine, just then my phone started to vibrate with an unknown number on the screen who could it be, I picked the phone and placed it to my ear

“hello?...................”

“hi am I onto Amira Dogero?” the unknown caller asked

“yes? Please who am I speaking with? I said looking at lily who was confused

“ok am calling from SLIVERDO international company” I sat up expectantly after hearing the name of the company “congratulations miss Amira you have the job of a secretary to Mr. Dave Sliverdo Lakes” yes!!!!!!! I got the job am so happy

“thank you ma, please when do I start?…………oh tomorrow that’s ok thank you” I said and cut the call, “I got the job lily I got the job!!!!” lily screamed

“this is good news” lily said clapping her hands together then making a serious face “now you must not screw this up ok, this job is the deal imagine how much you will be paid plus working for a very handsome boss” lily squealed

“looks like someone has a crush on him” I said in a singing voice

“no way I have my boyfriend” she said defensively, urgh anytime she talks about her boyfriend I get goosebumps but not in a good way in a reallllllly bad way

“finally I’ll get the money to buy my own car and rent my own apartment and leave this godforsaken dungeon hahaha!!! FREEDOM” I laughed

“is that the real reason you wanted a job? Lily asked looking at me like I’ve lost my mind

“yeah, if these is not a good reason why else would I want a job, getting a car and owing an apartment spells independent to me and that is what I want, lily this is what I’ve been waiting for a long time” she just has to understand that the only thing I want is a good paying job to leave this house

“okay I guess you’re right” she said

“ok I have to go to bed now I have work tomorrow, good night, sis turn off the light for me ok?” I said sliding under the duvet of my bed, closed my eyes and pretended I was asleep

“it’s not even late yet” lily said, “I know but I want to go bed now so I can wake up early tomorrow to start my new job” I said

“and what about dinner?” she said

“don’t worry I’ll eat dinner when its time can’t miss it” lily laughed and left the room.

THE NEXT DAY

I got ready for work,wore a blue blouse not really my colure and a black pencil skirt that complimented my curvy body, paired with a black wedge and my hand bag then went down stairs to meet rest of the family, lily, dad and Richard were at the dinner table having a breakfast,I grabbed a seat and sat down, mom was in the kitchen

“I heard you got a new job, congratulations Amy that’s nice” dad said I felt proud of myself, finally something good finally said about me

“and better work hard to keep this one” mom said coming out of the kitchen, nice the kind of advice I really need. I rushed my breakfast and left with lily so she could give me a lift to work I left without telling anyone goodbye, well they won’t even miss me or acknowledge I was leaving anyways so, while driving lily kept staring at me

“what?” I asked “do I have something on my face?” I said rubbing my face

“no nothings on your face” she said as I sigh “but you have to try to keep this job ok, don’t do something that will jeopardize this ok?” she said pleadingly

This has really become her mantra sentence ever since I passed the interview. “I know everyone seems to be on my neck because of this one job, I won’t lose it except if am asked to do something I will really dislike doing, like cleaning his shoe or wiping his nose…………”

“come on who will ask you to do a thing like that, just be serious with your job and you won’t need to do something you dislike ok?”

“sure ,bye”. I majestically walked into the tall building, I felt like congratulating myself this is so far the best place I get to work, plus with a very handsome boss, this is crazy but I have to comport myself don’t wanna mess up on my first day, I got to the floor where I will be working and looked at my desk, “nice” sliding my hands on the desk it was so smooth I dropped my bag and turned to face the big doors in front of me, behind those doors lies power and beauty and………………

“what are you doing” I could recognize that cold voice anywhere I quickly turned around and saw the boss looking at me with hands in his pocket, it felt like in the movies when a shiny light would be behind him, he is so gorgeous “well ms Amira are we going to stand around all day or get to work? He said as he stepped towards me

“good morning sir I didn’t know you were here already” I said

“of course not” he said passing me and moving into his office and sat on the big seat behind the table that actually looks like a concave dinner table, well that’s how big it is

“is there anything I can do sir?” I asked

“yes, get me a cup of coffee from the coffee shop down the street ” he said as he turns around to keep himself busy

“but sir there’s a coffee maker down at the cafeteria” I said I’ve seen other colleagues use it why don’t I get you coffee from just here at the office

“I know, but I like the ones bought in the coffee shop ok?” he said, ok so he just want to punish me I get it now, well am not going

“but sir I can really make nice coffee just using the coffee maker” I said and he shot me a glare

“ I don’t like repeating myself twice ” he said in a very cold tone that could freeze up anyone and I turned on my heels and left.

Dave’s POV

She’s so perfect and beautiful ever since the first day I saw her something about her triggered a feeling in me I guess because she’s so attractive , and she’s gorgeous,has a wild side one am yet to discover and tame

“what are you doing?” she just stands there looking so beautiful

“are we going to stand around all day or get to work” I said, she greeted looking shy, I acted like I couldn’t care less as I walked past her, I really need to get away from this lady, but her perfume just caught my nose, what type of perfume does she use

“is there anything I can do sir?” she has a sweet voice too

“yes, get me a cup of coffee from the coffee shop down the street” I really need one this morning to help me concentrate

“but sir there’s a coffee maker down at the cafeteria” she said, is she trying to question my orders on her first day of work? Well she doesn’t know who she’s working with

I didn’t bother saying anything to her as I continued to look busy

“but sir I can really make nice coffee with the coffee maker here in the cafeteria” she said, she can mmmmmm or she doesn’t want to go

“I don’t like repeating myself twice” I said sternly she turned around and left, you’re being really mean to her.
