6. Blade`s best friend Drake

"H-Huh?! Rane!" Karen exclaimed.

She saw that Rane is being carried by a man and immediately pulled it away.

"Rane, the aswang took her!" she said in fear.

(Aswang- a vampire-like mythological creature here in the Philippines)

Karen ran towards Conrad.

"Conrad! Call Sir Blade! Rane, was kidnap by an Aswang!"

"Ah?!”

Meanwhile, Blade was in the city center to chase the opponents. His phone rang and he answered immediately.

"Why?!"

'It's a nuisance!' he said in his mind.

His eyes widened in shock after he hears the news.

"What?! Rane, was kidnap?!"

Blade immediately went to Karen and Conrad, after they called him.

"What does the aswang look like, Karen?" the concern was obvious in Blade's voice.

"Hmmm... It is a man, he is tall, he looks pale but pretty cute. But I didn't see much of his face. He was wearing a blue jacket."

"That corpse!" Blade uttered in his mind.

"In which direction did they go?" he asked Karen.

"There in the Maulo."

(Maulo-also known as Bantay Reyes)

It is a mountain located in the village of Don Benito. You can visit because there are houses there and there is a path to the top. At the top you can see a hut between two mahogany trees. That is meant for those who want to go there. But half of that mountain is a vast forest that people do not go to. That forest is just as dangerous because of the venomous snakes that are scattered in the area.

"Sir, bring Rane home." Karen pleaded.

Yes, they had misunderstandings but Rane is still her step-sister and she loves her.

Blade just nodded and immediately left for the mountain.

"I have to hurry! Corpse might do something!" Blade is really in a hurry.

Meanwhile... Rane woke up, she got up slowly. She was in a small hut, on the side of a small waterfall. Lots of wild orchids around and other wild flowers. She even looked around. She looks like she is in a forest.

"W-Where am I?!" she was afraid.

Until she notices someone...

"AAAHHH!" she scream.

She saw a man standing beside her and he looks weird.

"Don't be afraid, I will not hurt you." Said by a cold voice.

"W-Who are you? Why did you bring me here?"

The bangs are tangled in his face, his skin color is pale as if there is no blood. His lips are red as if they were bloodied.

"I'm the handsome vampire in the world! Drake and your service." he bowed.

And after that he slowly approached her. She stood up and backed away.

“Please, don’t be scared. I won’t hurt you.”

“Then why did you bring me here?”

"I brought you here because... Because... You brought me back to life. You KEGTOT my heart!"

"Ha?!"

Suddenly he rubbed his forehead and emote completely. He pulled the bangs that covered his eyes. Its eyes are bluish-grey.

"I'm rude, sorry. I didn't even ask your name. Can I know your name?"

"Ahm... I'm Rane." the girl said awkwardly.

Drake came closer to Rane...

"Wow, good name. Rane, can I woo you?"

Rane's eyes widened in shock.

"No. I'm young."

"Age doesn't matter in love... I can woo you for up to one-hundred years. Please... Give me a chance. I’m going to die by your refusal. Oh! I remembered, I died before. But I’m going to be double-dead if you refuse." he suddenly grabbed her hands and stared into her eyes.

His hands are cold, he has fangs. She is not dreaming. She is facing a real vampire .. Only in the movies vampire is existed, that’s what she knows. Like the famous TWILIGHT who even had a sequel. Unexpectedly...

"Hoy Corpse! Get away from Rane!" Blade gasped.

It looks like his timing is just right. He just guessed the place where Drake could take Rane.

"Sir Blade!" Rane quickly let go of Drake's grip.

She immediately ran towards Blade.

"Are you okay? Didn't he do anything to you?" Blade asked.

"I'm fine. He didn't do anything wrong."

Blade sigh a relief then he turn towards Drake.

"Why did you kidnap Rane?!" Blade ask angrily.

Drake rubbed his chest and his eyes glazed over at Rane.

"Because she revived me. I saw her earlier in front of my house and all of a sudden... Oh my, Blade! It feels like my heart is running like a horse, my heart is pounding! My heart is pounding!"

Rane and Blade frowned at Drake's appearance. Rane had recovered from her amazement and then...

"You know each other?" Rane asked the two.

"Yes. We just became friends." Blade replied.

"I am the real owner of the house you cleaned the garden earlier." Drake added.

"Hey, Drake! Forget about Rane. I'll take her home." Blade blurt out.

Drake cross his brows upon hearing Blade.

"So, are we rivals?!"

"No. I'm going to take her home to their house. She's still young so stop there. Rane, tell me how old you are and he won't be scratching."

"F-Fourteen."

“See? She is too young!”

"Oh, no problem Blade! Our ages are not that far apart. I am only sixteen."

"B-But. Your lips are still touch together!"

Drake would explode like a bomb in those moments.

"Leave it there!" Blade pulled Rane away.

But Drake suddenly appeared in front of them and it blocked them.

"Anak na lase! Why again?!"

"Fight me, Blade!" Drake's serious challenge.

"Will you stop this nonsense!"

"I challenge you! If I lose, I will not date Rane. But when you lose. You will just let me court her."

Rane look at their face. The two seems so serious. What is happening?!

"Rane, step aside first. I'm going to hit this corpse. He won't stop until I give it to him." Blade said in serious tone.

Rane just nodded and followed carefully.

"You might even change your mind, Drake."

"Huh, that won't happen!"

"In that case, you can not only taste Kagebunshin technique times two, times two! Plus a borrow-one!" Blade imitated Naruto.

The two smiled and again... They rushed together.

"You're late! Crash claw!" Drake attacked Blade.

"H-Huh!"

But the Blade he attacked turned into white feathers. That is just a deception.

"Abuwisit ak pa!" Drake blurt out.

"I’ve got you Drake! Lightning fist!"

Blade hit Drake and he flew at the force of the impact.

Drake immediately got up and rushed to Blade again. Then suddenly...

"Eeeeehhhh!"

"Rane!" simultaneous language of the two.

Rane is carried away by an ugly witch.

"Let go of me!" Rane tries to escape from the witch holding her.

"Stop struggling if you don't want me to grab your eyes!"

Her voice was loud and her sharp nails pointed at her. Rane was stunned and gulped. It has large glaring eyes and a large nose shaped like a parrot's beak. Its skin is also wrinkled as if it has rotted.

"Rane my love! I will save you!" Drake shouted.

"Yuck! You're corny!" said by Blade.

Almost at the same time, the two rushed to save Rane.

"Hey! Ugly witch! Bring back Rane to us!"

Blade blocks the witch and so does Drake.

After that a huge number of venomous snakes came out and rushed at the two men. They became busy and because of that... The witch was able to put Rane on the broom and they immediately flew away.

Rane was terrified of those moments. She did not know what would happen to her. She was busy watching Blade and Drake fight when a witch attacked her from behind. Meanwhile...

"It's your fault! If you didn't bring Rane here, she would not be harmed!" Blade commented on Drake.

"Yes! I admit my mistake! You have the right to blame me. What matters and important, let's save Rane my love first!"

"Ah wrong-mistake!" Blade blurt out.

The two were busy killing snakes in those moments. When they had killed all of them, they immediately followed the direction the witch had taken to take Rane.

Meanwhile, the witch brought Rane to the end of the forest, to the edge of the high gorge. There is a big palace attached to the ravine. It meant to build it there so that no one can see. They went down the ravine and headed for the palace entrance. It drags her hard because she is really struggling.

"Release me! What do you need from me?!"

"Like I said, you will resurrect my queen! You will complete the ritual we have been doing for a long time! Hik hik hik hik hik hik! .."

Again! Ritual? Why every time something like that happens, she gets hurt.

"So you should get along!" it pulled her away and glared at her.

Then, she suddenly pierced its eyes with her left hand. She did not know where she took the courage of those moments.

"EEEEHHH!" the witch screamed.

It released her and rubbed its eyes. She grab the chance to escape and immediately ran away. She just ran until she reached the edge of the ravine. Rane was devastated to see the deep ravine. She also looked up. If she climbs, she has high hopes that she will be able to return to the mountain forest. She made a decision and sighed. She signed the cross and started climbing. She had to be careful, she was going to be dead if she fell into the deep ravine.
