Hazel could be seen sleeping peacefully, her wounds have been treated and her dress has been changed
The daylight poured in through the windows, banishing the shadows from the room. Hazel stirred, her eyes fluttering open to the unfamiliar surroundings.
She sat up slowly, her body aching from the exertion of the day before. The cabin was silent, the air still and heavy with the scent of pine.
Hazel's mind raced as she struggled to make sense of the situation. She was safe, for now.
But what would happen when the Alpha sent more men to find her?
And then there was the matter of the driver. Who was he? Why had he helped her?
“Oh you’re awake” A lady entered the room
Hazel scrambled back against the sofa, her hands digging into the fabric as she tried to put distance between herself and the stranger.
But the lady’s expression was not hostile. His eyes were warm, his smile gentle.
"I'm sorry," She said, holding up his hands in a gesture of peace. "I didn't mean to startle you."
Hazel swallowed hard, trying to steady her nerves. "Who are you? How did I get here?"
The lady took a step forward
“My name is maya and my big brother brought you here last night” Maya said
"Your brother," Hazel repeated, her mind spinning. "Why did he bring me here?"
Maya's smile widened, her eyes dancing with mischief.
“He only said we should take care of you till you wake up”
Hazel let out a long, slow breath, her eyes fixed on the girl. She was young, maybe too young to be trusted with such a secret.
“But still am confused, big brother never brings lady home..”
"It's alright, Maya," Hazel said, her voice gentle. "You don't have to understand everything. Just know that your brother is a kind and brave person for helping me."
The girl nodded, a look of wonder in her eyes. "My brother's the best," she said, her voice filled with pride. "He can do anything."
Hazel smiled, her heart aching for the innocence in the girl's words. She remembered a time when she had felt the same way about someone, when the world had seemed simpler, less complicated.
“Here you are” Another lady entered, she’s looking so much like Maya
"Oh, hello!" Maya chirped, bouncing up from her seat to greet her sister. "This is Hazel," she said, gesturing towards the still confused Hazel on the couch.
She smiled, her eyes warm and kind. "I'm Maya's sister, Naya. Maya told me what happened. Are you feeling better?"
Hazel nodded, her eyes shifting between the two girls. "A bit, thank you. I...I'm still not sure why your brother brought me here."
Naya’s smile widened, her expression unreadable.
“Now that you are awake..first thing we should do now is freshen you up” Naya said
"Let's get you cleaned up," Naya said, taking Hazel's hand and leading her towards the bathroom.
"You can't tackle your problems on an empty stomach or in dirty clothes, right?"
“I got changed...already”
“Oh come on..this was last night pajamas” Maya said
Hazel couldn't help but laugh, a small, tired sound that seemed to catch even her by surprise.
"Alright," she said, her shoulders relaxing. "You two are worse than my old pack."
Maya and Naya exchanged a knowing look, their smiles widening. "Well, you're not with your old pack anymore," Naya said, leading Hazel into the bathroom. "You're with us now."
Hazel let herself be led,she entered the spacious bathroom
The bathroom was indeed spacious, much larger than Hazel had expected. The tiles were a deep, rich blue, the bathtub carved from marble and surrounded by thick, plush towels.
"Here," Naya said, handing Hazel a bottle of shampoo and a bar of soap. "We want you to feel at home here."
Hazel hesitated for a moment, unsure if she should accept the offer. But Naya's gaze was soft, her smile warm, and Hazel knew that she meant it.
"Thank you," Hazel said, dipping her head into the steaming water.
“You’re so pretty..and I love you silky hair” Maya smile
Hazel blushed, a faint pink rising in her cheeks. "Oh, thank you," she said, running her fingers through her wet hair. "You two are making me feel very welcome here."
Maya giggled, her smile infectious. "You're very welcome! After all, you're our first guest in a long time."
Naya rolled her eyes, a playful glint in her gaze. "Guest? She's practically part of the family now."
Hazel laughed, the sound light and free, like a burden had been lifted from her shoulders.
Hazel stepped out of the bathroom, her hair still wet and her skin freshly scrubbed. Naya helped her into a soft, cotton robe, the fabric light and warm against her skin.
"You'll want to eat something soon," Naya said, leading Hazel towards the kitchen. "Maya can be a bit of a fiend when it comes to cooking."
"Hey!" Maya protested, her face feigning insult. "I'll have you know that I'm a very accomplished chef. I learned from the best."
Naya snorted. "The best, huh?
"The best, indeed," Maya said, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
“Good morning my lady” A maid entered the room and bowed
“Food is ready”
Hazel's eyebrows shot up in surprise, her gaze darting from Maya to Naya and then back again. "A maid?" she asked, her voice incredulous. "You have a maid?"
Maya shrugged, a grin spreading across her face. "Of course we have a maid," she said, her tone flippant. "Didn't you know?
Naya rolled her eyes, her expression amused. "Don't mind her," she said to Hazel. "She just likes to exaggerate for effect."
“Let’s go,big brother will be waiting” Maya said and they walk out of the room heading towards the dining
The hallway was so big that Hazel keep wondering who they are
Hazel walked down the hallway, her eyes taking in the ornate woodwork, the oil paintings that lined the walls. The house seemed to go on forever, each room more lavish than the last.
"You certainly live in style," she commented, her voice tinged with awe. "This place is amazing."
Maya giggled, her hand gripping Hazel's arm.
"Oh, you haven't seen anything yet," she said, her voice full of mischief. "Wait until you meet our brother. He's the real deal."
Hazel frowned, her curiosity piqued.
As if on cue, they turned a corner and entered a spacious dining room, its walls adorned with tapestries and ancient weapons. At the far end of the room sat a man, his back turned to them, his broad shoulders filling out the chair.
Hazel's heart raced. This was him. This was Noah, the man who had saved her.
"Brother," Maya said, Her voice ringing clear through the silence. "We have a guest."
The man turned, his eyes fixed on Hazel.
