Nydia noticed his condition and knew he was concerned about his leg again. She walked over and stood behind his wheelchair, leaned down and whispered in his ear, "Don't worry, it will get better! You're a hundred times better than him."

Her warm breath tickled his ear like a feather, making it itch and tingle. He was about to move his wheelchair away, but Nydia acted first and walked up to him, waving at him. "I'll go check on something. I'll be back home before nine."

Home? Did she consider this place her home?

Nydia had already left, and she couldn't see his reaction at the moment.

She drove to the Malone Villa.

"Mr. Malone, Mrs. Malone."

"Oh, Nydia's here. Please go check on Willette. She's been locking herself in her room and not eating. It's driving us crazy."

After Nydia gave Willette some ideas, Willette knew what to do and asked Nydia to stay for dinner. Willette's father, Cade Malone, and mother, Laura Fisher, were happy to see her and chatted with her for a while.

"We were so happy to see you and Jesse getting along so well the other day. After all, you are married, and we want you to be happy. It's just..." Laura stopped in the middle of her sentence.

"I know you care about me. I will take care of myself, don't worry." Willette replied.

Laura was about to say something after the word "just," but Nydia didn't give her a chance to speak.

"Let's eat first," Cade spoke up to ease the awkwardness.

Laura didn't give up and continued to ask during dinner, "Nydia, I know I shouldn't say anything since you and Jesse seem to get along well, but I can't help but remind you to keep your own money safe. Women need money to have confidence and speak up."

Nydia panicked at the sudden reminder. The Malones all looked at her nervously. "What happened? Did Jesse take your money? How much did he take? Can you get it back?"

Nydia suddenly laughed, "I was just teasing you. My money is safe, don't worry. It was earned by my parents' hard work, and I won't mess it up."

However, her smile became a bit sinister towards the end.

All of these people wanted to get their hands on the large compensation money that Nydia's parents left, and they were all trying to benefit from it.

"You scared us," Laura said, patting her chest in relief.

"Mrs. Malone, why are you so scared?"

"I, I was just afraid that you would be bullied. If Jesse took away so much money, how would you manage in the future? He could kick you out at any time."

"Unfortunately, I've already deposited the money into a fixed-term account. Otherwise, I would have given it to you to take care of," Nydia said.

Cade and Laura were left speechless.

"For how many years did you deposit it?" Willette asked.
