Chapter 3

They were shocked by Devano's words while Kania bowed her head and trembled. Sella was afraid because she didn't carry out her master's orders properly.

"What's wrong with you, Nia? Why are you suddenly shivering like this when Mr. Devano is around," Sella exclaimed.

Devano heard the woman's voice, which made the man turn his head and grin. Kania clenched her fists, and her hands were tied behind her back.

"The other girl, sir? Um ... please take it, sir; after all, I only want to take the other one because it's a substitute for paying off his mother's debt," said the middle-aged man.

The man was indeed in his sixties, but he was very afraid of this younger man in front of him. Devano's power was very scary; if he made a mistake, it could be serious.

"I want them both, one my maid and one mine. Understand! Do you want to take them away from me," Devano snarled.

Devano's interlocutor shook his head quickly. He stepped closer to the man but was met with a glare that made his guts shrink.

"But... Sir, the girl is to pay the debt, surely you know," said the man.

The old man's voice stuttered slightly, and then Devano gave Alex a flat stare. Understanding that gaze, the man quickly grabbed something from the car and gave it to his employer.

"How much is the debt? Let me pay! Tell me quickly! It's a waste of my time."

Not wanting to upset Devano further, the old man immediately mentioned the amount, but it was bigger than what Erna owed. Hearing this, Devano grinned. The man wrote the value according to the debt he knew and then immediately handed it over to the moneylender.

"We already know how much Kania's mother owes. Do you want to lie to us? Do you want to make a profit or die?" said Alex.

The older man immediately fell silent, even his face paled. He immediately bowed his body to apologize, while Devano only glanced flatly. The man who had more power than them immediately looked at Kania, who looked down.

"Are you waiting for me to pull you out of there? Hurry up and get out!"

Sella froze at Devano's words, making the man snort in annoyance.

"It looks like your ears are useless, huh? You didn't hear what I said! Already, you are incompetent in carrying out your duties; you let Kania get hurt," the man grumbled.

Alex, who saw his boss getting angry, immediately helped Sella out of the vehicle. The woman struggled a little, then the woman Devano was targeting lowered her head and turned her back on him.

"Sir, don't ...."

Devano smirked at that. The man immediately entered the car and pulled Kania's arm, making the woman rebel.

"Shut up! You are now mine."

The man's voice was not high, but it was sharp, like a newly sharpened knife.

"Hurry up! It would help if you thanked me for helping you. Otherwise, you ... would have become the plaything of that broke man," Devano snarled.

The man roughly grabbed Kania's arm, causing her to fall. Luckily, Devano caught her by the waist.

"You can only be hurt by me! Take good care of yourself," Devano exclaimed.

The man was in no mood to untie Kania's hands while Sella was. After the woman they'd captured got out of the vehicle, Alex was already assisting her. The older man and his subordinate quickly entered the vehicle and drove off in a hurry.

"She can come, sit in the front!"

After saying so, Sella immediately said thank you. Then, the woman quickly entered the vehicle while Alex opened the door for his employer.

"Quick, get in! Do you want to be tied up and run after this car," Devano said coldly.

Kania shook her head, not daring to look the man in the eye.

"Sir... I'll just go home by myself," the woman refused.

Devano rolled his eyeballs, and a sigh was heard. Seeing that Alex was very scared, even Sella unconsciously bit her lip.

"Who wants to take you home? I've paid off your mom's debt, so now you're mine! Hurry up and get in!"

Because he was still not helping, Devano took the initiative to carry Kania, making her scream.

"Mister! Please... don't," the woman squealed.

After placing Kania on the seat, the man immediately told Kania to slide to the side. But instead of staying still, she shook her head, making Devano sigh.

"Do you want to move, or I'll hold you!"

Hearing the man's words, Kania immediately shifted her body, Making Devano grin. Then, the man quickly sat down and ordered Alex to drive the vehicle.

Eum... are we going home, sir?" asked Alex.

Devano immediately looked at the man who was his secretary and assistant.

"Too many questions!" he retorted.

Alex immediately pressed his lips together. The man grumbled inwardly, but he couldn't voice it, choosing to guess if the master wanted to go to the residence. Without waiting for his secretary, Devano immediately opened the door and got out of the vehicle. He looked flatly at Kania, who was instead cornering herself.

"Get down quickly! Or I'll ...."

Devano's words were not continued when he heard the man's words. Kania rushed out, even though she had difficulty doing so because her hands were still tied behind her back. Sella saw her friend's state; she was grimacing. She wanted to speak out but was defeated by fear.

"From earlier! So slow," the man snapped.

The words that came out were very piercing, although the tone was not high. The man immediately pulled Kania's arm, making it difficult for her to keep up with Devano's pace. Meanwhile, Alex and Sella grimaced at this.

"What the hell is that woman doing?" asked Alex.

The man whispered into Sella's ear, the master shaking his head.

"I don't know, but... wouldn't Mr. Devano throw up if he got close to a girl? Why is this even holding Kania," said the woman.

Alex's eyes immediately rounded. He had forgotten about this important matter. The man immediately looked at Devano, who was still dragging Kania. When he saw that, he had many questions in his mind.

"Has Mr. Devano recovered?"

Sella's question interrupted Alex's thoughts. The man immediately shook his head, then stopped his steps and held Sella's arm, making her stop, too.

"Here, mention your account number. Mr. Devano said I have a reward to send to the person who finds the girl," Alex said.

Sella heard that she had hit the jackpot. She immediately took out her phone and gave him her account number. Alex immediately sent the amount mentioned by Devano. After sending it, the man put the cell phone back in his pocket.

"Already, because you made him hurt, you are dismissed for two months."

Sella's eyes immediately bulged, and her excited body was now limp. She held the man's hand, making Alex stare at the woman.

"Sir... can you tell me not to stop me from working first? I'll find money for that long," Sella whined.

Alex sighed, and the man quickly unhooked Sella's hand from his arm.

"It's lucky you were only laid off for two months rather than being fired. Just accept it, Mr. Devano is hard to bargain with," Alex explained.

Sella had a glum look on her face, but she nodded her head in agreement with Alex's words. While elsewhere, Devano immediately pushed Kania to the bed with her hands still tied behind her, making her grimace.

"How dare you go, ha!" snapped the man.
