Chapter 3

Blake's POV

Today is the day I've been waiting for 18 years of my life. I had a good feeling about it. I feel it in my gut. Ria is definitely my mate. We connect in a way like no other. She gets me and I get her. We are similar in more ways than one. We have been dating for the past 5 years and our love has been growing stronger each day. After I confirm that she's my mate tonight when the moon rises, I'll mark her as mine officially.

My wolf, Ryker, was weary about it all and didn't want to believe that Ria was our mate before it was confirmed. He is right to think so, but he simply does not feel the way I do. I mean, there is everything you feel about a mate. The sparks are there, the chemistry, the heart-stopping moments. I just couldn't think of any other person as my mate besides Ria Davison.

Everything has been going the way I wanted. My father will step down, and I will become the Alpha of the Blue Moon pack and then Ria will be my Luna. I was playing video games in my room to kill some time. Kyle, my soon-to-be Beta, is outrunning an errand, and Ria went shopping with Mia, my twin, and a few friends for tonight's party. I wanted to join in, so I could spend the day with Ria, but they prohibited me by saying, " Girls only ".

My phone and I reached for it on the table without taking my eyes away from the game and answered.

" Hello," I said after putting the phone on loudspeaker.

" Hey babe!" exclaimed a loud shrill voice. A smile spread across my face hearing Ria's voice.

" Hey, you. Are you gone shopping? Do you need me to come to fetch you?" I asked, ready to get up and head out.

" Oh, no. There's no need for that. I just wanted to hear your voice. I miss you over here."

" I miss you too babe. You better hurry up and get back here," I said teasingly, and she giggled.

" Don't worry. These girls and I are almost done. We will be back soon. I can't wait to see you."

" Me too," he mumbled before ending the call.

I had a tux ready for the party, so I just had to take a shower and smell good. I decided to go to the gym and work out. I worked out with an intensive routine. It was just to kill time really, because I didn't need to work out thanks to werewolf genes. We are all naturally in shape and built, but it doesn't mean that we can't enjoy that hard work and sweat.

Kyle came in and found me busy skipping rope. He sat on one of the benches and pulled an energy drink. He bought two so he gave one to me.

" Thanks, man," I took it and sat beside him on the bench taking a break.

" So we both assume our roles and are supposed to find our mates tonight," he begins, staring at the wall in front of him. He looked stressed out.

" Don't worry. I am sure that we will find our mates tonight. Well, I have already found her and I just need the Moon Goddess to confirm it."

He looked at me with a strange look. " Dude, are you still going on about that?"

" Yeah. Why not? I can feel bro. I am not wrong about this, okay. And I don't need the lecture that will ruin my night before it even begins," I said, shutting him off.

He stared at me incredulously for a few seconds before shaking his head. " Whatever you say, man. I just hope it pans out for you because I would hate to say I told you so," he murmured under his breath, but I still caught it.

No one was not so supportive of me, thinking that Ria was my mate. All of them had doubts, but I just refused to even think about it. Yes, maybe I am being stubborn, but I am just being hopeful and placing my faith in the Moon Goddess. Was it so wrong and stupid of me to wish that Ria was my mate? I mean, why would she and I meet and fall in love like we are if it was not fate?

" You are worrying too much. Worry about yourself. Think about the kind of person who is destined for you. Are you not even curious about her?" I asked Kyle to change the topic from me to him.

" I thought about it a lot, but it doesn't matter. What matters is if I even find my mate. I heard that people could go years beyond 18 to find their mates. I don't think I can wait longer than I have. And what if I find her, but I don't like her? Or what if she doesn't like me and rejects me? There are so many variables that could lead to this becoming an epic disaster," he rambled on nervously. It was amusing to watch, but he made perfect sense. Being paired up by the Moon Goddess doesn't mean you are made for each other or end the game.

Sure, the mate bond is strong and sacred, but you can still decide not to accept your mate or the other way around, and I heard that it is devastating. But the Moon Goddess is kind enough to give a werewolf a second chance to find love again. I hope tonight, none of us go through anything like that.

I sighed and ran a hand across my face. " I don't know what to say about that. Let's just not think about it too much. Whatever happens, will happen tonight, and let's hope it's none of that."

I said, standing up. " Come on, let's spar and loosen up a bit before the big night. Come on," I said, offering my hand to help him up.
