Chapter 4

Late at night, I opened my phone and browsed through Matt's Instagram. He was someone who liked to share his life on social media, so he often posted about his daily activities. However, I noticed that since he started dating Angela, his posting frequency had significantly decreased. In stark contrast to his account on Facebook, where nine out of ten posts were about Angela, there was no trace of her on his Instagram account. I didn't even see Angela's presence in the comments.

Unconsciously, I scrolled for a long time and reached the period when he was abroad. A person in the comments gradually caught my attention. I opened her Instagram page, and the profile photo that appeared on my phone screen left me momentarily stunned. After a while, I locked my phone screen and looked at the opposite bed. Angela's even breathing reached my ears. After some internal struggle, I decided to let it go.

The next day, because there was a rehearsal at the theater in the afternoon, I took leave after attending my morning class. On the third day, shortly after returning to the theater, I received a message from Angela.

"Tomorrow at 11 AM, Room 201 in Building 3."

"Okay, thank you," I replied briefly.

"Can you make it tomorrow?"

"I have something in the morning but can manage it. Besides, it's not easy to get an audition with Sebastian, so I'll definitely take this opportunity."

"Okay."

I looked at Angela's text with little emotional fluctuation and didn't reply further. I put my phone aside and continued rehearsing.

On the day of the audition, I got up early and went to a makeup artist's studio with whom I had previously worked. She gave me an exquisite yet tasteful makeup look. The makeup artist admired her work in the mirror.

"Sue, with your current state, you are sure to win the Newcomer Award this year. If you become famous, you can hire me as your exclusive makeup artist. My rates are reasonable," she said playfully while holding a brush.

I gently pinched her chubby cheek and said, "I'll take your good wishes."

Calculating the time, there was still a while before the audition. I followed her to pick out an outfit and returned to school just in time at 10:30 AM. Holding my prepared materials, I walked towards Building 3 and saw a group of people already standing at the entrance from a distance. Among them were some students who came to watch and several staff members.

I politely handed my materials to a staff member at the door.

"Hello, I'm here for the audition."

"Audition?" A man in a brown vest who was organizing documents on the table looked up at me upon hearing my words, his eyes showing confusion.
