Anayra was sure that there's something going on behind her back, the looks which her parents were giving each other is surely speaking something. But she couldn't guess what's wrong.
She's sure that it's going to be something which she won't like. Because her predictions never go wrong.
"Mom and dad? Is there something which you'd like to tell me?" she asked them curiously without beating around the bush. They both passed each other a flat look and Akshay nodded his head making Anayra confused for a moment.
"Yes, we've something very important to talk. But let's complete this lunch." her father tried to act enthusiastic and she can always tell when it's real and when it's fake. But she remained silent nevertheless.
"Okay." was all she said and quickly started eating her food.
"Slow down Anayra, there is no hurry. Why are you eating this fast? " her mother asked her in surprise.
"Because we've things to discuss mom." she replied as a matter of fact-ly and continues to eat fast.
"We've plenty of time. No one's going anywhere. So, eat slowly." her mother scolded and she just shrugged but finished her plate nevertheless. And she eagerly waited for her parents to finish eating their lunch so that they'd discuss the 'oh so important thing.'
"Okay. Let's go to the living room, shall we?" her father asked while washing his hands on the plate. He was nervous about what’s going to happen next.
They both nodded their heads and followed Akshay to the living room. Anayra was getting really very impatient with each passing seconds.
"What is it, dad? " she asked him curiously as they all took their seats in the sofa.
"Well... You know it's been two years since Anay passed away?" her father started this topic a little hesitantly. And just by listening to this her eyes swelled in tears. It's been a sensitive topic ever since he died.
She remained silent and he continued, " I think you should let go of your past Anayra.. It's been so long and you shouldn't sit and cry for him day and night... Instead try to move on. He'd want the same thing for you and you so know it."
"Dad... Where is this conversation going now?" she asked him bitterly.
"Anayra.. I know a good guy. He's interested in marrying you and he promised me to take good care of you. And I really want you to say yes. I can't sit and see my only daughter like this. You should move on and I'm sure this marriage will really help you." her father told smiling sadly making her stand in shock.
"Are you joking dad?" she yelled in disbelief. How did he think she'll ever marry someone else when her heart still beats for her husband? The love of her life.
"You must be joking. This can't be possible. No... My answer is straight no. You know this already... God! Did you both call me to India for this? Ugh... What is this dad? " she screams in anger making her mother shake her head in disbelief while her father kept looking at them both silently.
"Did I ever said no to anything you asked Anayra? Did I ever?" her father asked her looking straight into her eyes. And she gulped her saliva and shook her head as no.
"Did I say no when you wanted to marry Anay?" he asked with a stern look.
She once again shook her head as no. She knows where this is going... God! Why is this happening to me? She thinks while crying bitterly.
"Then for the first time, I'm going to ask you something Anayra. I don't want to hear a no." he informed and she knew this is her weakness and he's so using it.
"This is all so stupid, dad. Really very stupid. But if that's what you want. Then fine. I'll marry whomever you want me to marry. But remember one thing dad, we will never be happy. We will be the worst ever couple. I doubt we will even survive a month together." she yelled angrily and marched to her bedroom and jumped onto her bed crying bitterly. She can't believe that this is all happening. But it's happening. She has no say in this at all.
Her parents knew that it would be a tough decision for Anayra, but they want nothing but her happiness. This marriage might really help her move on, then why not try it as well?
On the other side,
Shreyas sat on his bed while typing the agreement deal, he had to make with the Choudhry'. He sighed as he finished typing the deal documents.
His phone vibrated with the notification of a message and he glanced at it uninterested-ly but his eyes beamed in excitement when he saw the person who has messaged him.
My daughter has agreed to marry you. Come home tomorrow. It read.
Great!
He is going to sign a very big deal. Which will be going to earn him a lot of profits but there's something which was an obstacle. The cost of importing and exporting the goods would cost him way too much that there would be no profit in it at all. But if that problem is solved, then he's gonna earn a lot of money enough for a millennium. And that's a huge thing for him. But for this to be possible he needed some body's influence, someone who will be very powerful and dominating. And that someone wouldn't help him for nothing. He needs to be helpful in return too.
One fine night, Shreyas has accidentally came across one article which read about Akshay Raichand and his family. It was an article written to defame him and his family by the opposition party probably, but that article gave him a new hope. He came to know about Akshay Raichand's depressed daughter who was a widow.
He never understood why he came up with this plan, but he did... His plan was simple, but very cunning. He decided to charm the soon to be Prime Minister and get married to his daughter Anayra Raichand. In return he'd be exempted from paying anything for his import and export. That would be just great.
He sighed in relief seeing the message, it's a one step ahead for his big plan. The plan of charming her father wasn't a cake walk at all. But now it was so worth it.
He's soon going to get married once again, the thought itself was making him groan in annoyance. But for him to get something he should sacrifice something too. And so, he has finally decided to remarry, the one thing which he has promised himself to never repeat again. Ever.
But then again, he's going to get married soon. That's what they call as destination and Shreyas' destiny lies in the hands of Anayra Raichand, who's going to change his life for good. If only he knew.
