2: THE OFFER

"What the heck is this Jungkook?!"

"Dad, hear me out first," Jungkook tried his best to make his voice stable over the phone, but he was too annoyed right now he could feel his nails digging on his palms as he made a fist.

"I only went to an overseas business trip and suddenly someone would inform me that my son is f*cking every single woman employee on my company?"

"Dad, that is not true."

There was silence on the other line.

"I'll have you married to someone when I get back there."

"Dad!!!! What the f*ck? Stop joking around."

"You know I don't do that."

"You can't make me."

"Why?"

"Because--."

"Because...?"

"I actually have a girlfriend."

F*ck my life, Jungkook thought to himself, the heck did I just said?

"You can't fool me Jungkook."

"It's true!"

Seriously, let me just hang myself right now.

"To see is to believe, I'll deal with you when I get back there this weekend."

And with that, his father ended the call.

"How's your first week?" Hoseok asked, you were sitting on your cubicle doing some computer works when the guy appeared.

He was grinning and you couldn't help but to smile back at him assuring him that you were doing just fine,-- the guy has this summery aura on him, warm and vibrant at the same time that would give anyone around him a jovial feel.

Hoseok's phone vibrated on his pocket and when he checked who was calling, Jungkook's name popped out.

He bowed at you, excusing himself as he answered the call and you continued with what you were doing.

"What room is it this time?"

"I need a girlfriend Hyung!" Jungkook let out on the other end.

"What the f--."

"Like,-- right now, before my dad comes back this weekend."

"You. Are. Out. Of. Your. Mind."

"I need to show him that I'm dating a girl, or he'll have me marry someone."

"You are both out of your minds."

"Hyung, please, help me," Hoseok could hear the desperation on Jungkook's voice.

Though the younger guy could be a pain in the ass most of the time, he still got pretty close with Jungkook that he couldn't say no easily to him. He knitted his brows together trying to think of a possible solution to the problem.

He needed to find a girl who Jungkook would not take too much interest of, who isn't drooling over Jungkook, who was decent enough to present to the CEO and who is also not that stupid,-- Hoseok's eyes roamed around the whole room when his gaze finally landed on you.

Moments later you found yourself seated in front of the CEO's son and Hoseok, eyes wide open and lips slightly parted after listening to their absurd proposal.

"So what do you say?" Jungkook asked. His face contorted a bit as he realized something, "I'm sorry,-- I mean, what do you think? Since you can't say or talk... 'Cause you're..."

Hoseok hissed throwing a sharp gaze on Jungkook.

"...sorry, I'll shut up."

The older guy turned his smiling eyes on you, "So Ms. Y/N? It'll only last for a week, just until the CEO's next overseas trip."

"We'll pay you good sum of money," Jungkook added.

"Shut up kid," Hoseok blew him.

You let out a shaky breath as you wrote your reply.

'Mr. Jeon, I don't need your pity over my current situation. I want you to treat me like a normal employee, I maybe mute but I'm not disabled.

And lastly, yes, I am poor but I want to earn money through a decent way so my answer to your offer is a no.'

Jungkook was taken aback by your statement that when he tried to say something he just stuttered. It was the very first time that a girl turned him down, or even told him directly what she actually feel—even if it might sound rude.

You didn't wait for him to compose himself as you bowed and turned around to reach for the door.

"I-if ever you change your mind, you can always contact Hoseok-hyung."

---

You let out a loud sigh as you let your body fell on the soft mattress, flash back of the happenings earlier went back to your mind. Yes you needed money especially now that your mom was in the hospital but you can't just rush into things, like for example-- pretend to be a girlfriend of someone.

You nodded to yourself.

What you did was the right thing...

Right?

Shifting around the bed allowing yourself to lay on your stomach, you buried your face on the pillow as you tried to convince yourself that you can get through all of the hospital expenses, medicines, bills, rental, food, and other things with your current job. You scoffed a little, -- who were you kidding anyways, you barely get through the expenses per week!

Your phone vibrated and you immediately check the text message from your mom's doctor.

Y/N, come to the hospital now.

Quick as lightning, you got out of bed, grabbed your bag and coat and took the cab to the hospital. The drive towards your destination seemed like forever, the flickering city lights almost blinded you as you passed along them while they shined with different colours. You entangled your fingers together placing it under your chin feeling the rapid beating of your heart on your rib cage. And just when you thought the ride wouldn't end, the driver finally stopped and told you that you've arrived.

You immediately went to the nurses' station and they told you that your mom was currently on the E.R., and without anything on your mind, you dashed towards the said room not minding the other people that bumped into you along the way. You even tried to get through the door of the E.R. but it was locked and a nurse told you to just wait on the chair positioned against the white colored wall along the hall.

When the door to the ER swung open, you immediately approached the doctor and you didn't have to say or write any words as the doctor already knew.

"She had a seizure but she's stable for now," she paused for awhile as she stared at your eyes with visible concern, "she needs the bone marrow transplant as soon as possible Y/N."

You bit on your lower lip as your eyes started to water, you can't lose your mom, she's the only one you have in this world and you can't imagine life without her, just the thought made your heart tighten and your hands go numb as you reach for your phone on your pocket, you unlocked it and started typing.

'Get on with the operation doctor. Do what you have to do to save her please.'

You showed the doctor what you've written and the woman on the white coat nodded as she patted your shoulder.

"We will," she said, after a few she left you on the hall asking you to wait for a bit as she gets the papers for filling. You walked towards the metal chairs and sat on them as you tightened your hold on your phone.

You had no choice, it's the only way.

I'll take it.

You typed on the screen and immediately sent the message to Hoseok before you lose your courage.
