The party.

Lucy began to feel heat radiating from her body. Her boss has been staring at her for the past five minutes, making her feel really uncomfortable. His silent was really killing her and his intense gaze on her body made her feel awkward

“ Just say something and stop staring at me like a maniac” Lucy mentally screamed.

Bianca sheepishly walked up to him and hugged him tightly, his gaze never leaving Lucy.

“ Isn't she beautiful?” Bianca asked, disengaging from the hug.

“ Huh?” He asked, diverting his gaze from Lucy to Bianca.

“ Lucy, she is beautiful, right?” He smirked and threw Bianca a weird look.

“ She looks like a clown, also is this a dinner party or a princess ball party?” He smirked, walking up to Lucy, "makeup looks perfect on you "He sarcastically said and went inside. Bianca looked dumbfounded, she couldn't believe Richard could be so cruel.

Tears ran down Lucy's cheeks. This isn't the first time he insulted her, but today felt really different. Bianca walked up to her, hugging her.

“ I do apologize for my brother's imprudent attitude, you know he didn't mean any of his words, he was only trying to tease you” She tried cheering Lucy up.

“ No it's fine, I'm used to his insults already, so it's nothing surprising "she dried her tears.

“ Can we go in now ?” Bianca asked, she pouts her lips sadly as they walked back into the mansion.

MINUTES LATER

Guests began to arrive, slow beat music played on the piano. Lucy looked astonished at the highly sophisticated people arriving at the party.

Richard descended the stairs all dressed in a black tuxedo, his hair combed to the back. Lucy watched every step he took from the stairs like a movie. A smile plastered on his lip as he greeted the guest. He made a gesture to Lucy to come over. She stylishly walked up to him.

“ This is Lucy, my personal assistant. '' He introduced her to the guest. She felt thrilled, in her whole life, she never thought she would meet people of social caliber nevertheless standing close to them. Lucy couldn't help but notice the way they looked at her. They were no different from her boss.

Standing with them felt like hell, she groaned in anguish, hoping the party would end soon. The party was tedious. Is this how rich people party? Walking around with wine in their hands, blabbering nonsense to each other. The music wasn't helping at all. Lucy yawned out, unlike the club, music would be blasting loud in the speaker, bodies swinging rhymatic to the music.

Richard moved closer to her,“ keep a happy face and stop yawning like an idiot. My business partners are watching so don't ruin it " he whispered, pating her shoulder lightly.

“Damn” she groaned.

“ What was that for ?”.

“Nothing” she replied, trailing behind him as he moved around greeting the guests.

The heels Bianca made her wear made her feet hurt. She looked around for Bianca and saw her chatting with groups of guys.

She sighed out" seems I'm the only one bored here” she wore a fake smile. She looked around looking for something to vet her eyes busy with.

“ So nice "she licked her lips, finally something got her attention. She stared at the waiter, setting different dishes on the table. “ They should quit talking and just move to the table” she grumbled, rubbing her belly.

“ Please the dishes are served, let all move to the table” Richard announced, which made Lucy smile. Just the word she had been dying to hear. She felt overjoyed, but her happiness was cut short when Richard informed her she won't be joining them.

“ There are some files in my room that needs to be worked on. Go up, the third room at your right, that's my room. sort it out immediately" he ordered. Lucy gasped out loudly, she couldn't believe her ears. She was so hungry and hadn't had any food since morning. She stood still, not saying a word.

“ Are you deaf” he roared lowly, giving her a murderous look, Lucy ran up fast to his room. She got to his room and burst out in tears, " How could he be so cruel? " She cried out loud. Was it a crime to work for him? “ Damn you Richard” she cursed, cleaning her tears. She went to fetch his suitcase and sat down on the rugged floor to work, her stomach growling loudly. She winced in pain and continued working seamlessly.

The party was finally over, the whole guests left already. Martha made sure everywhere was neat.

“ Where is Lucy? I noticed she was missing, but I was too engrossed with my conversation with Erin, I totally forgot to ask about her, "Bianca asked Richard as they both sat on the couch .

“ I sent her to my room to work, I couldn't let her disgrace me on the dining table” Richard replied with his gaze on the TV.

“ How could you? " Bianca yelled out, rising. “ Why are you so mean to her? She was so busy organizing the party that she didn't have time to eat. I can't believe you could do something like this, " She shakes her head in disbelief. Richard raised his head to stare at Bianca, he felt shocked that Bianca was talking to him rudely all because of Lucy. She glared at him before diverting her gaze to Martha, who stood listening to their conversation.

“ Martha, please let go check on her,” Bianca said and hurried . Martha trailed behind her, but not without giving Richard a disappointing look.

He stood up and followed them slowly. He heard Bianca scream and immediately increased his pace. He rushed in and saw Bianca trying to help Lucy up.

Lucy was laying helplessly on the floor. “ Richard, please, help me get her on the bed”.

“ Not my bed, " he muttered.

“ Can you stop this rubbish and help her, " Martha thundered. He helped her up, grumbling to himself. Martha rushed out and came back with a bowl of water and a towel. Richard picked the files messed up on the floor, he wasn't feeling remorseful at all. She is just lazy, not eating doesn't warrant her to faint like a moron on his floor. He was going to make her pay one way or the other.

Bianca cleaned Lucy with the cold towel. Lucy opened her eyes slowly and saw Bianca's intense gaze on her.

“Bianca” Lucy called weakly.

“ How are you?” Bianca asked.

“ I'm fine, what happened?” Lucy tried getting up from the bed, but Bianca stopped her.

“ The doctor will be here soon, "Martha announced.

“ No, I don't need a doctor, "Lucy protested. She looked up and saw her boss staring dangerously at her with his hand folded together. She gulped down the invisible lumps in her throat.

“ You heard her right, she doesn't need a doctor. Please get her off my bed, it probably stinks of her cheap perfume, " he uttered arrogantly.

“ Richard!!” Martha yelled out.

“ No it's fine, please help me up” Bianca gave out a defeated sigh and helped her to her feet. Martha and Bianca helped her out of his room , they heard him mutter something before slamming the door shut.
