A piece of my mind.

Lucy's POV

“ Do you think you own this world? Huh? Why should I always suffer words of insult from you? I roared.

“ Are you talking to me ?” He shuttered, making me scoff.

“ Is there anyone in this room apart from you ?” I made my way to his seat, rolling the chair to face me. He stared at me like a fool.

“ I'm talking to you. For the fact that you are my boss doesn't give you the right to insult me. I can also insult you if it pleases me, but I won’t. Because of you, I lost my purse and had to go home on foot, and you couldn't even thank me, "I poked his forehead. He looked at me speechless, like his lips were glued together or something.

It is unclear to me why I'm this angry, maybe because I misplaced my wallet all because of him, and he couldn't even thank me or because of the insult he rendered a while ago.

“ I know I'm poor, but not a slave. I'm a worker, not your puppet, so learn to treat me with respect. The fact that I need this job does not mean I will seldom to all your insults " I picked the flies on the table and trashed it on him.

“ Now, you will know how it feels to be insulted” I stormed out of the room and jammed the door really hard …

Finally, I found peace, giving him a peace of mind. I don't care whether he fires me or not. I stormed into my office and sat down.

Writer's POV

Richard stared at Lucy, not able to say a word. His eyes trailed as she stormed out, making him flinch in shock.

“ Is this Lucy, or am I imagining things? He thought. The way she yelled, poked his forehead and trashed the file on him left him perplexed.

“ Was I too insultive? Even so, it doesn't give her the right to yell at her boss. Austin definitely employed a lunatic” he picked his landline putting a call through Austin.

“ Of all the revenge you could think of, you decided to make a lunatic my personal assistant just because I terminated Mary's employment " he yelled, immediately Austin picked up.

“ What do you mean, sir?” Austin asked in a surprised tone.

“ Please don't pay dumb with me, " he scoffed. “ I know you are angry, but couldn't you think of a better revenge. I could have been dead. I'm only saved today because I'm a man who can't be tempered with or else the lunatic you employed would have killed me, " he yelled, banging his fist on the table. Austin, knowing the kind of boss he has, decided not to take things further.

“ I'm sorry sir, I will get her fired right now "he added.

“ You don't have to, I will do that myself” with that, he hung up. He stood up and scurried out of his office.

Lucy's office.

Going through the file on her desk. Her phone rang, picking the phone and checking the caller ID, she picked up.

“ Hey bestie, how are you?

“ I'm good, sugar and you?” He asked from the other end.

“ Doing great ".

“ I'm back to the state, "he spoke. She squealed in happiness.

“ Really, when did you get back?”.

“ Two days ago “.

“ And you are just telling me, " she scoffed." What kind of friend are you?”.

“ I'm sorry señorita, I have been busy. Please forgive me”.

“ Hmm, I will think about it "she rolled her eyebrows like he could actually see her.

“ Would you love to hang out like the old days, go for ice cream, see a movie and argue about stuff as well . I brought plenty of goodies, what do you say about that?”.

“ Sure, why not. We could meet on Saturday, I have a lot to tell you. Does Saturday sound nice?”.

“ Why not baby doll, until Saturday” he hung up. She stared at her phone as a smile appeared on her face. She has known Dave all her life, they both went to the same high school and college. He is like the brother she never had.

Come to think of it, she has a crush on Dave, but never spilled it out for the fear of not destroying their friendship…

Thinking of the old days, no stress, no boss insult, no thinking about rent because she actually stayed with Dave, just fun all the way.

She continued her work which she doesn’t know if she still got, but she was definitely sure it's over.

“ Ohhhh, she intends to go on a date with that boy” he muttered, taking his head off her door.

He came to her office to fire her but stopped when he heard her speaking on the phone and decided to eavesdrop on her conversation.

“ Let's see how she goes then, " he smiled and went back to his office. He picked his phone and called her. “ In my office right now” he commanded.
