Chapter 1 The Beginning

I'm lost.

Not gonna lie but maybe it was a bad idea to take a shortcut because now I don't even know where I am.

My phone died on me so I couldn't use google maps so I had to use an actual map like the old fashion way that I found at the bottom of my backpack. Don't ask why it was there because the answer will be I have no idea.

I examined it and looked around where I could possibly be.

There were no people so I was completely lost and couldn't ask for help.

I looked back at the map and mentally hit myself with it.

Oops, I've been reading it upside down...

I turned it the right way and tried to read it again. Now I regret not paying attention in geography class when the teacher was teaching us how to read maps.

I groaned and looked around again but my eyes landed on a figure on the other side of the small clear area looking back at me.

Finally, a human being thank god!

"Hello? Excuse me but would you mind point me the right direction towards the train station?" I asked as politely as I could when I started walking towards him. I was going away on a small trip and I'm never coming back to this hell hole ever again.

Long story short, my bastard of a father sold my beautiful hand in marriage to my crazy ex-boyfriend.

I'm so thankful that I overheard the conversation because I would still be at home locked up in my room.

Probably complaining why the wifi isn't working.

I stopped walking as soon as I saw the guy eye raping me with a smirk.

"Nevermind, I found it, thanks anyway," I said as I raised my map to make it more believable that I actually found the directions.

I turned around and decided to go back to where I came from because seeing that man must have crept the daylights out of me but as soon as I took one step, I heard a loud growl and I froze in my spot.

I slowly turned around praying it wasn't a dog. I strongly dislike dogs ever since that one time a dog attacked me, digging its claws into my thigh, I can't help but run the opposite direction when I see one.

It looked a bit too big to be a dog but then the police confirmed that it actually was a dog.

Just a big bad dog.

But the thing that creeped me out was that usually dogs attack with reason, or don't attack at all, but that one just came at me from nowhere. I was just walking to the park at night and the next thing I know I'm freaking out with a dog bite on my thigh and fainting at the sight of blood.

Or was it the loss of blood?

Thank god I was found before it was too late.

I never found out who the stranger that bought me to the hospital was, so I wasn't able to thank him.

I returned my attention to the guy who was still staring at me with a smirk as I looked around for any signs of dogs.

Did the guy make the noise?

I was too creeped out so I fake smiled and continued walking. Soon I started hearing footsteps which caused me to walk faster as my heart beat increased.

I heard another growl behind me but this time I didn't turn back. I could feel the panic attack creeping out so I started to jog.

Something grabbed me by my shoulder causing me to let out a scream as I fell backward.

"Ah, you are Declan's mate right?" The guy asked with an amusing smirk that was dancing across his lips.

"I don't know who or what a Declan is," I said as I tried to stand up.

"Oh, so he hasn't come to fetch you yet?" He asked with a British accent. Usually I would go nuts over a British accent but I guess not today. He moved my hair behind my neck and looked at it.

"Surprised he hasn't marked you, how old are you?" He asked.

What is he talking about?

"I'm sixteen," I lied.

"Don't lie to me," He yelled grabbing my wrist and holding it tight.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I just turned eighteen yesterday, please let me go," I said quickly hoping he would let go of my wrist but he only held it tighter.

"Not one of us I see?" He said sniffing me.

What the hell is he doing?

"If you want money, I have some in my bag, but please let me go, I don't know anything," I said as the tears in my eyes started to form. I couldn't feel my hand anymore but it did feel like it was going to break and that's for sure.

"Your mate isn't here right now, so I'll just have to show you myself," He said letting go of my hand. I immediately bought it closer to me, massaging the part he held so tight.

Well, that was going to leave an ugly bruise.

I looked back at the man who was taking his clothes off.

Was he going to rape me?

My eyes widened and I made a run for it but me being such an idiot, I ran the wrong way. I ran towards the fence that was around the forest but only seemed to realize that after I heard another growl.

I turned around and saw the guy's bones cracking as he lay on the ground. Soon his hands turned into paws and before I could register everything I was seeing, a big dog stood in front of me.

My father must have spiked my water earlier today.

Wouldn't be the first time...

I walked backward slowly so the dog doesn't just jump and attack me if I made a quick movement. My heart jumped when I came in contact with something cold. I looked back and it was a fence.

Great, I'm trapped.

I looked back at the dog that was growling at me. It was just a few feet away from me as it walked around in circles.

Suddenly, something jumped from the fence. I looked down and there was a beautiful human being standing in front of me.

"Climb," He said and I didn't hesitate. I turned towards the fence and tried climbing it but miserably failed.

Suddenly the guy's hands were pushing me up to climb the fence. One of his hand was on my butt may I add...while the other one on my leg.

I couldn't help but blush, I mean it's not every day a hot guy touches your butt and saves your life from being eaten by a big bad dog.

As soon as I was on the top, I lost my balance and fell to the other side.

To say it didn't hurt would be a big lie. I felt like I wouldn't be able to walk for weeks.

"You okay?" The boy asked and I gave him a thumbs up with a smile. The boy turned away and faced the dog. Soon his bones were cracking and I couldn't help but pull my hair at what just happening in front of my eyes.

Instead of one dog, there were two.

I'm going crazy.

I stood up on my feet, ignoring the pain in my back, and started running inside the forest, my heart was beating so fast and I couldn't really focus where I was going.

Hallucinations.

Maybe all this was just a dream? Or perhaps I was hallucinating the whole thing?

I picked up my pace but soon collided with a tree.

I lost my balance and fell backward while groaning. I rubbed my poor nose that is probably broken now. I could feel the warm blood coming out of it.

Soon a loud laughter erupted from behind me causing me to turn around in confusion.

Im dying here and someone is laughing at me, is this normal?

There was a boy with sandy hair and freckles standing behind me, holding his stomach as he laughed.

Is he kidding me right now?

I watched him as he walked to me and picked me up. He held my arm tight so I wouldn't run away. I did the next thing that came to my mind, I lifted up my knee and hit him straight in his nuts.

I let out a loud 'ha' and smirked as he groaned in pain.

I then took off running again, faster this time so none will follow me while still holding my nose and breathing through my mouth. I could taste a bit of blood in my mouth which made me want to throw up.

I heard a growl which made me trip because I was trying to look what's behind me.

I tried to ignore the pain in my knee that hit one of the roots of the tree while I looked back at where the sound came from.

It was that dog, the second one but the thing that crept me out the most was that he had blood around his mouth.

Blood. Blood. Blood.

Big spots of black covered my vision at the sight of blood and before I could do anything, I passed out.
