Chapter 3

Late at night, I rubbed my belly and thought of the time I asked him, "Do you like kids?"

His gaze lurched, his color hard to discern, "Now is not the time to have children."

I finally realize now that what he called not the time was because the person he loved was true love.

He feeds and clothes me daily and gives me cards I can't spend.

He can give me everything all women envy except love.

Opening the vault, I couldn't help but laugh at myself as I saw stacks of gold, jewelry and jewels, as well as some European currency.

He hasn't shortchanged me on spending money in three years, I thought he loved me, but I didn't realize ......

In the event of a divorce, if he lets me have a clean slate, I'll exchange these small treasuries for state currency, which should be enough to clothe and feed me and the little one for the rest of our lives.

The housemother was having her morning tea and said coldly, "Out and about again, I envy you. But your good days are numbered, Lian Rivers is back."
