Chapter 7

Xavier’s POV

(Back at the Lycan Territory)

“Xavier, it’s been six years since she went missing. Why don’t you give up?” one of the elders of my pack said.

“You don’t tell me what to do, Elder Wade. I will not stop searching until she’s found. So, get used to it,” I replied.

“So, what if she’s never found? Or you find her and she’s already dead?” Elder Moore said.

I turned to look at him, rage burning in my eyes.

“Don’t you ever make such a statement again, Elder Moore. And I’m saying this to everyone else. Anyone who isn’t comfortable with me searching for Olympia can leave but I’ll keep searching for her and that’s final,” I said, scanning the room.

By the look on their faces, the elders weren’t pleased with my decision but unfortunately for them, I am the Lycan King and what I say stands. I dismissed them before walking out of the throne room. Back in my room, I couldn’t help but wonder if Olympia would ever be found.

Since she mysteriously disappeared 6 years ago, I’d been searching for her but couldn’t find her. Yet, I made up my mind that I was going to keep searching. Every single day, I would think about her.

Is she safe?

Has she given birth to my child?

Is she still in love with me?

These were questions I had no answers to. Days passed and the guards I had sent on a mission to search for Olympia once again returned empty-handed. I was frustrated all over again. That night, I was so mad that I began to break items in my room, scattering the whole place. It wasn’t long before a pair of strong arms grabbed me.

“Calm down, brother. I understand you’re frustrated but don’t let the people see you in this state,” my brother’s voice said.

Like magic, I felt my anger gradually subside as my brother continued to speak soothing words into my ears. The only person who could handle me in this mood was my older brother, Troy. He knew about my quest to find Olympia and was always there to calm me down whenever I was frustrated by the news about her not being found.

After a few minutes of trying to calm me down, we both sat on the floor, resting our backs against my bed. There was silence between us but I could tell he was looking for the best way to bring up a conversation.

“Xavier, as your older brother, I think you should give up on this search and start a new life. Find yourself a mate and move on. I mean, look at how all of this is ruining you. You’re no longer your happy self. That part of you had died six years ago. It has even affected your relationship with everyone else. Please, brother, listen to me and move on,” Troy said.

“You’re talking like this because you don’t understand. You never got the chance to meet Olympia that is why you speak this way. Olympia is the kind of woman no man should ever lose. She’s an amazing person. I just don’t understand why she disappeared all of a sudden,” I replied.

“That’s it. Maybe you’re mistaken about her. Maybe she’s not the kind of woman you thought she is. Maybe she doesn’t love you as much as you love her. That’s just how life is sometimes, dear brother,” Troy said.

“Well, Olympia is not like that. There must be a good explanation why she left and I’m just going to wait until she’s found to know what it is,” I answered.

Troy sighed and I could tell it was from frustration.

“Look Xavier, I am your brother and I love you but I am tired of seeing you every day becoming a shadow of yourself. Have you ever thought about what you would do if she’s never found or if she’s found dead? Or what if you find her but she’s already moved on from you? What are you going to do about it? Probably nothing. This is why I keep telling you to move on. There are plenty of ladies in our territory who would die to have you. Find yourself a mate and start a new life, bro,” he said.

I was speechless as I thought over what he had said. He had a point. If Olympia was either dead or had moved on, my life would not remain the same but still I have to move on. Chances of her being found were gradually becoming bleak and hopeless. Perhaps he is right, I thought.

“I hate to say this, brother, but you’re right. I may never find Olympia. I may find her but she may not want me back. Either way, I have to pick up my life and move on. I think I will take you up on your advice but first, I will wait till the end of this year and if I still don’t find her, I’ll find another mate,” I said.

“Well, that’s some improvement,” Troy said chuckling and I couldn’t help but let out a small chuckle too.

“Yeah, I know,” I said.

“I guess we’ll just have to wait until the year’s end. I have some really nice girls I want you to check out. I’ve had my eyes on them for a while now and they look really responsible. I think they’d make really good Lunas if you decide to settle with any of them. I bet they’re good in bed too,” Troy said, with a smirk on his face.

“Oh, c’mon brother,” I said, pretending to be disgusted and he laughed.

“It’s good to see you laughing again. Anyways, I’m heading to the clubhouse. Care to join me?” Troy asked, getting up.

“Sure bro,” I said, proceeding to stand too.

“Let’s go then,” he said.

“Sure, I’ll meet you outside,” I said and we did our ritual shake.
